The entire staff is very accommodating and friendly.

We had a bungalow with a balcony and a view of the complex. The space was completely sufficient and harmoniously furnished.
The bathroom is located in the entrance area and is separated from the bedroom by a door.

The water was warm at all times and the water pressure was good too. Only sometimes there were unpleasant smells coming from the drain. We therefore kept the ventilation on in the bathroom at all times so that the smell could dissipate.
Unfortunately, the air conditioning is a bit weak and ran at full speed throughout. At least that was enough for you to sleep.

The pool is really great. The view is great and there are about 15 beanbags and also tensioned nets one floor higher where you can chill out.
We were always at the pool in the morning and then went to the beach around midday when it got too hot. There are also extra towels for the pool and if you want to go to the beach that you can borrow.

A 5 minute walk takes you to the beach where there is also a nice bar. The beach is quite nice. You can also reach Bamboo Bay in 10 minutes by scooter. Here it is a little more idyllic and private.
Scooters can be rented at the hotel. There are different models with different prices. And for two people an old scoopy was enough for 250 baht.

Amazing place in a perfect location. Easy access to all the best beaches and staff are very welcoming, Kung in particular. We loved it here so much, we extended our stay by two nights and stayed in one of the high up villas which offers great views. Would recommend!

TL;DR: Spent a week here and was satisfied overall, with a few annoyances. Location is great, the room was a bit underwhelming. Overall, decent value for the price.

Location: relaxed, southern part of the island with many restaurants/cafes nearby. The nearest beach, Kantiang Bay was great, too.

Room: neat, clean with lovely interior lighting and surrounded by nature - very atmospheric. They are equipped with everything. In addition to the usual things, the hotel even provides a flashlight, umbrellas and a laundry bag. Bed is quite comfy and big. There were a few annoyances, though. The AC is very inefficient, for one. Overnight it's fine for sleeping, but as soon as the sun hits the bungalow, it can't keep up with the heat. The upper floor always remains 5-10˚C warmer. Another thing is the bathroom. Due to a design error, the water doesn't stay on the shower floor, but slowly makes its way to the toilet, soaking the whole area in between. Not a huge deal, but was a bit annoying. What was more annoying was that the water kept going cold every minute or so when showering. Setting it to hottest then back solved it. Again, not a dealbreaker but slightly bothersome. Overall: room looked great, functioned a bit poorly.

Pool: very nice and clean with a great view.

Service: staff speaks minimal English, but that's on par with Thai standards I guess. They are polite, but they were sometimes lacking actual assistance. On our way there, they offered transfer only from the pier on Ko Lanta, so we had to arrange a private airport transfer ourselves. On our way back to the airport, it was possible to arrange transfer, for some reason. Cost 2500 THB.
Another example was when, after food poisoning, I crawled down to reception to ask for some medicine. They told me I should get some electrolytes from 7eleven. On a good day, walking 5 minutes there is obviously a breeze but being really sick, I wasn't too thrilled to hear this suggestion. After a bit of convincing, they gave me a pack.

I had one of the best experiences in Thailand so far. Great installations, superb location (quiet area of the island, good to relax and scape the tourist crouds, walking distance to the beach, easy to rent a scooter in the front desk if needed), beautiful rooms, great warm infinity pool, very good breakfast and restaurant menu (you can order to the room), veeeery good wifi in all hotel installations - including rooms (not that common in Thailand) but most importantly, AMAZING STAFF, they made my stay unforgetable! I was traveling solo and planing to stay 2 days, ended up staying 2 full weeks. They even upgraded my room at no extra costs! I would DEFINITELY recommend this place and if I’m back in Koh Lanta, I’m surely coming back! Thanks team for this amazing stay at Alama:)

This hotel exceeded our expectations. Insane value for money. The design of the room was great; it was neat and stylish, using timber construction, concrete and other local materials. The lighting design was very well thought with indirect lights washing surfaces instead of pointing the light directly at you. I am sorry for getting so technical with the lighting design, but I find it extremely important. Often you have rooms that look great during the day but when the night comes some terrible, in-your-face white lights kill the atmosphere and the experience. The walls integrated full-height windows so that you would feel fully immersed in the landscape, as well as thick curtains to protect you from the sun in the mornings. We didn't hear any noises during the night and it was perfect to sleep.

Besides the room, the infinity pool was beautiful. I recommend going there during the sunset to relax and enjoy the views.

Run away from this hotel
We arrived to stay 3 days at Alama sea resort
No pick up or cab offer when we arrived from our boat.
The rooms are very badly insulated, it is very hot inside.
Bare electric wires are close to the shower jet (security level we knew better)
When you take your shower expect to flood the whole bathroom.
The breakfast costs 300 baths and is really not good for this price. Better to go out elsewhere.
We paid for a boat trip for the day with the return trip included: we did not get the return trip to the hotel.
No toilet paper in the bathroom next to the pool for 2 days.
No one was at the reception to do our check out at 7am.
We called the reception so that they come to pick us up in town with their shuttle service, but the person on the phone did not make any effort to come and pick us up telling us that she did not know where it was (food market.).
In short, the quality/price ratio should be reviewed (60e/night)

Some positive points:
The room was very nice and the pool is very nice as well as the location near the beaches.

It could be nice but it wasn’t. Don’t book it!
Dirty and not well maintained
We found worn underwear in our room and it was super super dirty.
This place probably used to be nice, like five years ago. Now it’s only dirty and overpriced.

The place itself is wonderful. Room was great and the pool was too. The only problem is that the lady at the reception who I think is either the owner or the manager has no sense of customer service. When we checked in, she said "You guys are only staying here one night? " clearly showing dissapointment and then went on to ask where we're staying next and for how many days like she's trying to find out about the competitions. It's just unprofessional and makes the guests feel unwelcomed. If I was the owner, I'd find someone else who actually knows how to be nice and friendly to welcome the guests at the front desk. It matters!

Amazing that absolutely no one here speaks English! Ordering an iced coffee is a problem. In a 3 star hotel! On an island that lives because of foreign tourists!
Oh, and the breakfast.dreadful. My recommendation is to skip it and get early lunch somewhere else.
One star for quite nice rooms.

Beautiful hotel! We stayed in the bed suite cottage and we loved the atmosphere and the vibe of the hotel! The view was beautiful, a wide window next to our bed overlooking the mountains and the ocean. The hotel itself is a 2-3 minute walk to Kantiang Beach (personally I think it is the most beautiful beach on the Koh Lanta) and there is a swimming pool in the hotel area.

The hotel has restaurant (yummy!), breakfast buffet, spa services and also motorbike rent.

The staff were super friendly, and the girls were super helpful in organising our pick-up, transports and snorkelling trip bookings.

Nice resort with big cottages. A very good breakfast. The internet was very bad and the stuff behind the reception could not speak Englisch very well.

Nice and quiet place to stay! Room was always clean and comfortable. Some of staff didn’t understand English well but they are friendly and kind.

Neat boutique hotel. Infiniti pool with a nice view and the breakfast is pretty good.
Quiet little location, not much to do here, but you can rent scooters on site to see the rest of the island.
I'd like some better service but I think it's a standard on the island.
Restraunt was flavourful, portions need to be bigger but then again, probably the standard on the island.

Everything is ok but the lady boss is so stupid. She has no sevice mind. She just need to sell everything but never take care of guests.
If we to ask for a help to the staff, she will try to interrupt us.
If we asked her about how to get to the famous restaurant what we plan to get to, she will be angry and try to do everything to make us eat at her poor restaurant. She said that "Sorry now the famous restaurant which you need to get is closed" when we called to check the restaurant is still open so we get there by our own, she never help us about transportation to get there.
She informed the price of rental motorbike was 250 baht/day at the time we came to check in the hotel but in the next day when we come to rent it, she try to increase the price to be 350 baht/day.
Never come back again to see this selfish and liar lady boss

This was our BEST honeymoon stay in Koh Lanta. Lovely and helpful receptionist. Rooms are amazing, clean and no mosquitoes. Just ask for some help with the air conditioning on arrival.

I didn't come all the way to Thailand for a 3 star hotel. Overall nice, clean, and friendly. However, no alcohol allowed. Booked ocean view room and could only see jungle. Spent most of the time relaxing next to the beach bars 1km away.
