THE SANCTUARY OF TRUTH MUSEUM reviews
69It is world’s biggest wooden museum situated across sea in Pattaya city of Thailand surrounded by beautiful green forest. Crew is very knowledgeable and well behaved. They explained every possible details about the museum. Tickets are available on the spot also. It deserves a must visit.
This is a wonderful piece of art, and still in the works for - who knows how long.
It is worth to listen to the guide, however it is waay over what on can digest on a single tour.
The safety helmet - my personal openion - is an overkill, as well as that they insist on covering the legs and shoulders. It is NOT a temple, but a museum…
But all in all - a place worth visiting.
Release the elephants. They don't want to be chained up and used as toys. It goes against the messages of The Sanctuary of Truth.
Alot of issues if you want to visit this place there's taxi mafias and the entry ticket is surprisingly too high.
I saw many people reached the place but returned without visiting after seeing the entry fees. Tip beware of the taxi mafias at the place and visit only if you got a thing for art of the temple else you can skip it. Not worth the price and efforts
The sanctuary building itself is amazing! The elephants rides they provide on the surrounding grounds are NOT. Shame on anyone who patrons this tourist activity. The tour guides are told to explicitly mention “they take good care of the animals” because management knows people are concerned about it - and they should be. Allowing people to ride elephants (and chaining their feet while they wait for riders) is exploiting them and inhumane. This should be illegal and the premises should not allow it. I was horrified that such a beautiful place allows such a horrid practice.
It's quite nice inside the Sanctuary of Truth but actually when we visited it's still under maintenance and built so there are some people on the ceiling fixing things.
But it was quite good structure and things around there, music will let you deep in the feelings of peace.
Expensive 500baht even if you are thai and that's just the building everything else you pay more for.
Impressive! We didn't research the place at all before we went in and found out the tick is 500 baht per person. Which is quite expensive for an attraction in Thailand. That's the same price with the grand Palace in Bangkok. So we weren't sure about going in so we asked to just go in to their restaurant and have some breakfast. And as soon as we walk in the restaurant and see the building itself it was so impressive omg we were like well now we definitely have to go in. So we ended up spending the whole afternoon there. Its not an actual Buddhist temple it's more like a massive art exhibition. The tour guide is really great as well. Especially recommend if you're interested in Asian art and philosophy.
My guide was excellent, in fact excellent almost is not good enough word to describe it. I cannot remember his name, but he was from Azerbaijan. His English was superb, along with his attitude and knowledge of the site. Thank you so much for the knowledge that you shared with us, sir. You made my trip to Pattaya wonderful and helped to capture a few images of me to share with my family.
Yes, this site had ongoing construction. The continued work adds to the experience, as you get to see magical art being made right in front of you. It was very fascinating to watch the craftsmen (and women) work on the carvings right there in front of you. You can always see the intricate details in the finished carvings later, but here you also can see the process come to life right before your eyes.
It may be difficult to get around if you are mobility impaired, but there are ramps to get around inside.
Can coming to make offerings with money badly earned with lies for many years accept forgiveness? Is it my fault that I say it harshly?
Just can't explain enough how awesome this place is.
Surely the most iconic structure in Pattaya. Intricately carved entirely from teak wood.
The different halls have stories carved on the walls - all of the stories are from Hindu mythology and of Hindu mythological Gods.
It shows how much influence Hinduism and Vedas had on Thai culture. There are amazingly carved states of almost all important Hindu dieties like బ్రహ్మ, విష్ణు శివ గణేష్ navagraha, అష్టదిక్పాలకులు
Strongly recommend to get the guided tour - the guide will explain each and every story carved on the walls.
The mistake we did was we didn't plan enough time - exploring the whole prescent would take atleast 2 hours. There is a beautiful park, a small lake and some activities too.
You can easily spend half a day here.
The ticket costs THB 500 per person - may sound expensive, but surely worth every penny.
Very cool place to visit in Pattaya, I’m surprised it’s not more talked about. It is so detailed and completely made of wood. Highly recommended if you are in the area.

The Sanctuary was impressive and beautiful. Great to see the crafts of all those countries. Unfortunately yesterday was only one guide available which spoke english. She spoke very fast. As we asked if she could slow it down a bit, she was very rude to my patents. Not a pleasant experience, especially when they tell you about respect etc in the Sanctuary
The lady who sold the tickets was friendly, but there was another lady who was very pushy, and above alle did not speak English well. She did not wear the blue shirts of the staff. I thought she was an agent who wanted to sell extra services, but I am not shure. I managed to get the tickets bypassing this person.

Only one word: SUPER, If I go there a hole month, I still have not see all of it. Just a wonderful building
