From the wisdom, knowledge and strong faith of Mr & Mts Lek Viriyaphan, the wooden museum was created and continuously thriving to convey the significant message from generation to generation. A message that everyone should discover and understand. The unique way of communicating about the past, present and future ways of life through excellent works of arts and carving. A one-hour change of scenery.
500 baths I find a little expensive but I didn't regret it
It was worth seeing.
What's a bit disappointing is that there seems to be constant construction.
As you can see in the picture, the blue tent is not wet.
Maybe it's because it's made of wood, but termites (?) keep eating the wood, so construction continues.
This is a brain official.haha
A wonderful work of art, it was started 42 years ago and it still has 2 floors left. All in wood, incredible!
The sanctuary is truly incredible and a must-do! Everything is hand carved and you can watch them do it!
ps: book your tickets on klook, it's cheaper than at their reception.
The Temple of Truth was built in 1981 and has been under construction for 41 years. It is the largest wooden palace in the world. The entire building is an all-wooden structure, using pure mahogany and teak as raw materials. The internal structure is mainly assembled using wedges, bolts and other exquisite methods. It is the largest attraction in Pattaya and one of the most important landmarks in Thailand. The Temple of Truth is situated on the beach overlooking the ocean and you will absolutely marvel at the appearance and be in awe when you see it up close. The reason why the Temple of Truth has never been completed is because it was built on the seaside. Even after post-preservation treatment, the wood will inevitably be damaged by time and wind, so the entire building is still under construction and improvement. Whenever you visit, you will basically see three to five workers carving wood.
A must-visit place if you go to Pattaya! I went at the same time as the Korean guide, and it was more meaningful to watch the tour while listening to the explanation.
The scene can only be described as spectacular. The details of each Buddhist temple are worth savoring and recommending.
Great experience, good services including toilets and resting places, they provide helmets for safety and umbrellas for the sun.
It's just beautiful and impressive! What wonderful work done by the sculptors.
Count 500 baht entry for an adult.
Paid services are also offered around the main visit, ride on the back of an elephant, on a pony, in a boat on the lake.
Great architecture and an artificial masterpiece.
I personally don’t like the way they build the story.
The museum is about teaching the rights to humans but the settings seem not reflective. People have poor working conditions there (in a very hot weather, no safety clothes). Horses and elephants are abused for tourists to ride. Even when one of the message in the museum is to teach human to live peacefully with the nature. Yet the museum is made full of wood (from trees) and animals are raised to be abused: (
Must visit place in Pattaya.
Buy tickets in advance to get the offers.
All languages guide is available for free (included in the entry fee)
Buy tickets online in advance, atleast 4-6hrs prior as per the requirement of the website from where you are booking like Klook etc. Because after reaching I guess you can't book online.
A must visit destination when in Pattaya - very beautiful.
Enough place to park, eat, play.
Apart from the wooden temple, there is elephant & horse ride (better to avoid as animals are certainly not happy!), Fish feeding, mini zoo (just few animals and that too not in good condition) and a small walking area amidst the trees.
Overall a nice experience.
Wonderful place with a real story. I would advise anyone who's visiting Pattaya to free some time to visit this museum and take a guided tour by Jes (s). To all at the Sanctuary of Truth, keep up the great work.
Not far from Pattaya beach just a few minutes taxi ride it's a must visit place in Thailand
Superb place to visit. Go with advace booking on klook. Women must have shirts with sleeves and below knee length shorts/Skirts.
It’s a place where money heist was filmed.
Once in a Life time experience.
One of the gems of Pattaya or you can say Thailand.
Still some phases of construction going on but it won't disturb the visiting experience.
Location beside the sea gives a pleasant experience.
Architecture is completely of wood and details are very fine.
A tour of 7 truths for better life and society.
Guide will be provided in English, Chinese, Thai, Russian and a few more languages too.
Additionally you can have elephant ride with extra cost.
Amazing building with spectacular views. Very interesting and can take guided tour also. Lovely gardens to walk around with elephants to feed and horse and carriage rides. Lovely little cafe on site which served delicious food at good prices. Would definitely recommend
