Wat Phantao

วัดเล็กๆแต่งดงามมาก อยู่ในบริเวณที่เป็นถนนคนเดินท่าแพ หากต้องการชมความงามช่วงเย็นจะเหมาะมาก ควรหาที่จอดรถบริเวณใกล้เคียงหรือนอกพื้นที่ในช่วงที่มีถนนคนเดิน

วัดโบราณเป็นมีหอคำที่เป็นไม้หลังเดียวในเมืองเชียงใหม่ที่เหลืออยู่จากสมัยโบราณ ทุกวันพระใหญ่มีงานถวายประทีป สวยมากครับ

วัดพันเตาถามคนแถวนั้นบอกว่าหมายถึงดีพันเท่าหลายๆ เท่าอะรไประมาณนั้นเป็นอีกวัดที่มือชื่อเสียงของเมืองเชียงใหม่

The temple is made of teak wood. High strong wooden pillars which hold a roof are awesome. It's one of the oldest whole wooden building.
The entrance is free of charge, so you can donate on your own wish.
The place feels like genium buddhist temple not a tourist place. It's not crowded, peaceful and relaxing.

Worth dropping by to check out this temple and it has a nice bamboo bridge at the back of the temple.lots of dogs:)

Located in old city. This temple is such a unique temple with lots of antique things in there I always love to go there around November of every year for Loy Kra Tong festival in thailand. They will light up the candles all over the temple at that day which is awesome and remind me so much of my reminisce.

วัดในเชียงใหม่ที่สวยงามอีกวันหนึ่ง วัดพันเตาสร้างขึ้นเมื่อในสมัยพุทธศตวรรษที่ 21 ตอนต้น เมื่อประมาณ พ. ศ. 5040 เดิมเป็นเขตสังฆาวาสและพื้นที่หล่อพระอัฎฐารสของวัดเจดีย์หลวง ต่อมาได้สร้างเป็นวัดพันเตา แต่เดิมคนเชียงใหม่เรียกที่นี่ว่าวัด “ปันเต้า” (พันเท่า) อันหมายถึงการที่มาทำบุญเพียงหนึ่งจะได้บุญกลับไปเป็นพันเท่า ภายหลังเพี้ยนเป็น “พันเตา” อีกที่มาหนึ่ง น่าจะมาจากการใช้วัดนี้เป็นแหล่งสร้างเตาหล่อพระนับร้อยนับพันเตา จึงได้ชื่อว่า “วัดพันเตา” นั่นเอง

One of my favorite temples that has a large hall with very natural wood texture. Also, the people here are waaay more friendly than many of the other temples and hasn’t turned into a tourist spot but is still focused on the temple.

There’s no fee to get in here. Instead there are many places like everywhere else to offer blessings and donations. A must see with great temple bells they let you ring, a bodhi tree and a bamboo walkway along a pond leading up to it

I can highly recommend visiting here and not just the bigger temples surrounding it. It feels like a Buddhist temple and not just a tourist destination - even though we're tourists. Ironically it feels more welcoming than the temples which welcome far greater numbers. You feel like less of an intruder.

Beautiful temple and very different architecture from the surrounding temples in the area. The day I visited they were preparing for a wedding. Nice place for a quick stop right off the main walking street.

The area guard dog bit me on my Wat Phantao vacation and now I am having rabies and tetanus shots vaccination$$ at the hospital Bangkok for the next 28 days

The Wat Phan Tao, meaning "temple of a thousand kilns", probably derives its name from the ovens used to cats Buddha images for another temple. It is one of the older temples of Chiang Mai in the old walled center of the city. The structure were likely built towards the end of the 14th century. The viharn is an all wooden building constructed from teak panels set on a stone base. It is one of the few remaining all wooden structures of it's sort in Chiang Mai.

Small and beautiful, such a wonderful surprise to step inside here on Wisakha Bucha day to see the candle-lit pond.

A very beautiful teak wood temple that was constructed from wood that had originally been used in an earlier King's Throne Hall. It is a small temple situated next to the very large Chedi Luang temple grounds. I am not sure when but at some point this temple started to become very artistic when it comes to celebrating Buddhist holidays. There is always a very colourful display of flowers and decoration, without seeming out of place.

Suggestion: If there are too many people there when you visit, just enjoy it as much as you can and make plans to return at a quieter hour, you won't be disappointed as this temple is best appreciated when there are only a few visitors.

The building looks great, and inside also awesome.
And you can try the donate is various ways, you can cover with gold leaf for the Buddha, or hang your wish inside the temple. It's kind of interesting experience, and didn't cause you much. Hope they use the donation to maintain this temple is excellent condition
