Wat Chediliem

Established over 700 years ago by the first King of the Mangrai Dynasty and founder of the Lanna Kingfom this temple was formerly called Wat Ku Kham (golden stupa), now it's called Wat Chadi Liem.

He built out to house the relicts of his wife; It is perfect square shaped and consists of 5 tiers.

I love this Chedi and the Temple place. Its worth to visite. Here is the sunken city of chiang mai. After 200 years forgetting this city, it was rediscovered at the end of the 20th century. Meanwhile more than 40 temples have been excavated and restored. Today you can find here a new village smd old ruins mixed. The excarvations are not yet finished.

"เวียงกุมกาม"เป็นที่ตั้งเมืองหลวงของอาณาจักร์ล้านนาที่ถูกสร้างขึ้นแต่ครั้งสมัยพญามังราย แต่ด้วยจากการที่มีน้ำท่วมอยู่เสมอ จึงได้ย้ายไปตั้งในที่ใหม่ แต่ก็ยังมีร่องรอยของเมืองเก่าที่เห็นอยู่ที่นี่เป็นสถานที่ท่องเที่ยวที่ได้รับความนิยม วัดธาตขาว, วัดกู่ป้าต้อมและวัดเจดีย์เหลี่ยม (วัดกู่คำ) ก็เป็นสถานที่ได้รับความนิยมอันดับต้นๆของเวียงกุมกาม

วัดแห่งนี้ยังสมบูรณ์มาก และอาจดูสมบูรณ์ที่สุด คาดว่าถูกบูรณะอย่างดี และปัจจุบันยังเป็นวัดที่ถูกใช้ในการจัดกิจกรรมทางศาสนาอยู่ มีนักท่องเที่ยวค่อนข้างมากแต่ไม่ถึงกับวุ่นวาย

This temple locate in the area of chiangmai old town in the past water flood area sine more than 700 yrs ago. So this temple so old and have so beautiful pagoda. So the pagoda is the highlight of this temple so the pagoda is the name of this temple. We call in Thai wat Chedi liam. It mean the ankle pagoda temple.
