Top North Hotel reviews
29 In old city, near Thape gate.swimming pool, Bar, gift shop, massage on location.breakfast @7
helpful staff.full range of rooms.highly recommend. A+A+A+
Stayed at this hotel 11 years ago, booked a room again this time and it didn’t disappoint. Value for money good location as well
Very large room, but poor maintenance. Much is outdated and falling apart. After being stuffy the first night I checked the AC filters and they appeared to have never been cleaned. Location is good though
I like the location of the hotel. But WiFi need to reconnect many times. The hotel have parking.
Fantastic location in the old city, with restaurants, bars and supermarkets (7-11) near by. Breakfast is ok with eggs, sausage, ham, bread etc. We stayed in a superior room, which was spacious, but a bit old. The hotel has a massage store with good prices. The staff is very friendly. In general, it is a good hotel for the price.
Large hotel with pool, off street with own restaurant. Surprisingly quiet for its location in the busy West Gate Old City area. No wow factor but good value for money. Close to many walking distance sites, and those gems, like Chapter 2WO Coffee Oasis.
This place is quite nice. I would estimate that the quality was superb in the year 2000 but since the place have been a bit worn down. The pool area and lounge is great. Breakfast cost 100bath extra and I opt to go out on town to get breakfast.they can help with arranging tours and other activity's. The reception is open 24/7. They have an elevator and wheelchair accessible entrance and rooms.
I recommend this place for an air-conditioned retreat in-between cooking classes, tempel visits and elefant tours in Chiang Mai.
Comfortable, friendly staff, convenient and our favorite place to stay when on a Inspire Church Waikele Hawaii mission to Chiang Mai Thailand.
I really like this hotel. Their pool is the main reason. They have a lovely pool, you just have to walk out of your room, and it’s right in front of you. A nice place to relax and take in the sun as the pool area gets the sun, all day long. The rooms are clean and comfortable, beds are big and comfortable. Shower is decent too. They serve a buffet breakfast and their restaurant serves food all day. Staff are very helpful, and there is a travel agent in the reception area. It’s in a very central location in Chiang Mai too.
This hotel was really nice at one time, but it has not aged well. Everything in the hotel is showing its age. The hotel was clean enough, but our bathroom wall had a hole in it to the outside. Breakfast costs extra. The location is the saving grace of this hotel as you can't ask for a better location in Chiang Mai.
Unfortunately, I booked through agoda and I got a room which cannot reach by elevator. Their wifi was down all days while I stayed. Room's condition is old but ok, it's clean but not much. If you just find a cheap room for sleep in center of Chiang-mai I recomend this hotel.
Stayed a week in jul, like the big room, big fridge, desk bathtub, aircon ok. Although a bit of worn out, but for the price n location, definitely worth it. Didn't get the breakfast combi, can't eat the same stuff for a week.
Give it 5* cos it has all the ticks I'm looking for.other hotel either lack desk or bathtub or fridge. Wifi is not smooth when watching YouTube
Staff super friendly, good wifi, excellent location, nice pool. Room was old but still fine. Awesome price/quality.
They charge 100 baht to use the simming pool, they ll give you a dirty towel, the water is also dirty and the swimming pool is in terrible conditions. Also the manager of the hotel will keep staring at her phone while you talk to her. Don't go there.
Staff were ok, the room was terrible, it felt like a cell, I did not want to spend any more time than needed in this needed. It may suit Chinese tourists but not me. Breakfast was dismal. You served yourself, buffet style, no choice, but you were also expected to clear your plates away. Not my style of hotel. The pool water was clean, however the pool liner was split in several places. Would not stay again.
DON'T STAY HERE!
We stayed all over Thailand and this was the dirtiest, most run down, and outdated hotel we had ever stayed in.
The AIR CONDITIONER DOES NOT Work. Our first room the a/c turned on but it didn't cool it down at all. No cold air. We changed rooms and the air conditioner was blowing cold air once every hour or so, then would stop. We were dripping sweat in our room, lying down.
There was DUST AND DIRT everywhere. The dust bunnies were so big they almost had a heartbeat.
There was a ring of urine on the toilet. It was disgusting. The shower curtain had mold on it. The shower sprayed out of the tub and got the entire floor wet.
The PHOTOS ARE VERY MISLEADING. The pool and reception are maintained nicely, but any resemblance of maintenance ends there.
The BREAKFAST WAS DISGUSTING. We were conned into paying for a breakfast which was the worst I'd ever had. Everything was cold, including the fried eggs. The staff asked if I wanted a "fresh" egg, and then microwaved the egg turning it into a rubbery puck.
THIS PLACE DOES NOT CARE ABOUT ITS GUESTS. I've never written such a bad review for anywhere, but the TOP NORTH HOTEL needs a lot of work before it is fit to call itself a hotel. Save your money, go elsewhere. We left 3 nights early, and paid for another place. It was that bad.
Good place to stay, worth the price. It is an old building though, some doors have leaks so you can hear sound from outside.
Big hotel with spacious rooms, a bit old and smelly but it still is my favorite budget hotel in Chiang Mai.
Friendly staff and a nice setting, but the hotel feels rather old and tired. The WiFi doesn’t work and the rooms are generally dusty and dated. This could be a really nice hotel if it were completely refurbished. Decent location in the old town.
