Chang Phuak Gate Night Market - Food Stalls reviews
29A little night market close to the north gate. Here you can find a variety of foods and snacks. We visited regularly just to eat the delicious vegan spring rolls and wonton made and served by the loveliest and kindest lady, who we called spring roll lady. Seriously she was the best!

einen Besuch wert
Perfect place for dinner with friends, a lot of stands with different kind of food, everyone can eat something else at one table.
Sewer smell can overpower the senses making it a moot point to eat here.
Khao Soi is fabulous and their is a plethora of options at the many food vendors.
Ate pork meat from the famous cowboy hat lady.meat was dry. Without the sauce on rice, it would be very tasteless. Intestines were tasty. This place was further to get to as it's just outside the old quarters, and there's nothing else in this area. Not worth the time.
A small night food market. A few stands with smoothies, deserts, mainly food and seafood. The best pork with rice here. A few steps infromt of the market is there best Hainese chicken (better than Go Aang in Bangkok with Michelin star)
Not for shopping, but of course for the food
This is one of the many night markets of Chiang Mai.
Weekends, Saturdays, Sundays, Weekdays. There are always night markets in Chiang Mai, everywhere, "Tshukalayla" as we call them.
But this one was disappointing regarding any shopping opportunity.
The usual souvenirs were sold as everywhere and along the main streets.
But there were mainly many booths selling street food.
However if you like the ambiance of the night markets and are not there to buy anything but to taste, look, listen and get a feel of a far east city market, even if it is boldly touristic, then you'll enjoy it.
We rented a moped / motor scooter during our stay in Chiang Mai so we were able to cover a lot of ground. Overall the markets left much to be desired from a food and merchandise standpoint, especially compared to other cities in Thailand and Southeast Asia. This market, however, was one of our favorites. There are a few vendors selling delicious khao soi - regional specialty noodle dish. After trying khao soi, my wife and I located the famous ‘cowboy hat lady’ and enjoyed roasted pork with rice and cold Chiang Mai beers. If nothing else, find the cowboy hat lady and try the roast pork. If you do not see her in person, the ‘shop’ / food stall has her picture on it. It is also near the front / street in the middle of the market.
It’s a lovely place don’t forget to local clothes shopping and have the local healthy drinks and buy pure honey from here.
The sellers are all local people and these people truly manufacture all the products within Thailand and sell it, many weave and make the clothes or other gift items at home.
Came across few awesome cloth makers, handbag makers who were making some stuff right there as per the choices of the customers.
There are many food carts which serve local food as well as juice and lime water.
During the night market one can even keep looking at the temples around.
This place is known for bargaining because Being a foreign tourist they hike the prices but it’s still cheaper then buying from malls.
After that you can walk around to local bars and for a nice foot massage.
Have a great time here.
