Open late, good food, an OK service,
But: no English speakers, no English menu.
Owner very nice and kind, patient staff (required for communicating)
We go to this place for late supper which is frequented by local celebrities near the Thonglor BTS as the other one, Pochana 55 (Ha Ha) is always packed. Frankly the food is good but not for what you pay for nowadays.
Khow tom (boiled rice) with Thai/Chinese dishes should not cost more than 500bht for 2. So if your currency is strong (USD, EUR, SGD) you may be able to enjoy a meal for around 750-950 bht. Tell the boss in the plaid shirt to smile more with the money he's raking in.
The place is popular amongst party goers during the weekends who have the munchies. It’s popular because of their vast menu options and affordable pricing.
It’s higher end than your regular street food or local run restaurant. We came here because everything else was close and it was reachable for us on Saturday evening.
The staff aren’t very attentive and it’s owned by a Thai/Chinese gentleman. The walls are plastered with photos of him and celebrities who’ve visited the place - it’s quite cute. The kitchen did listen to us though as they adjusted the spice level to our liking:) Minimal English spoken here.
Hygiene is up to standard as well - although you might find a few small bugs crawling around on the floor.
FOOD: it was decent. You can definitely get this quality of food or even higher at a cheaper price, especially if you’re around yaowarat area. We ordered fried sea bass with garlic (350 BHT) it was delicious! We also ordered tom yum (150 BHT) which was a bit sweet and lacked depth, fried tofu (60 BHT), mixed veg (80 BHT) and rice.
The rice was stale and not of high quality but I would definitely suggest you order seafood here. It’s what they’re known for!
Late night Thai restaurant in Thong Lor. Good food and the prices are medium to expensive. Roughly 120+ per dish. A lot of choices in the menu available in Thai and English with picture. The wall are full of famous celebrity (mostly Thais) that has visited the restaurant. Dishes are made very quick. Seating available indoor and outdoor. The indoor part has air conditioned so thats nice. A must if you want to try authentic Thai and chinese-Thai food.
Very delicious Thai food. Stir fry oyster with crab meat is very nice! Other dishes that we ordered are also very nice - sour soup with minced pork meat and internal organs, fried pork with garlic.
It’s my first trial, it taste quite good and reasonable price. The only problem is waiting for more than 20mins for takeaway, due to peak hours.
The shrimp is good and delicious.
Fried rice is so so. Not tasty
Clam lala is above average with special flavour from vegetable.
Tom yum is not hot and powerful enough for those really loves hot hot type
Omelette egg is good
Overall I believe is good to try once if you visit bangkok
Perfect place to fill up during the late night. Delicious taste for most of the dishes. However it need some improvement for the cleanliness. The day I went the table has very bad smell (come from the dirty cleaning towel). Also, the pricing is a bit tricky. Some are cheaper than market average while some are a lot more expensive.
Good taste, opens until late night. Variety of options to eat with rice porridges. Looking around the shop it's surrounded by lots of posters of famous individuals as a sign of their visit. Minus 1 star for cleanliness but still good when compared to the usual for street side resturant.
Overall the foods were acceptable. We tried the cuttlefish Tom yam, veggies, jelly salad and raw shrimps. We only recommend the first 2 dishes and the latter 2 are only suggested to those who really like raw foods. Moderate taste for these two foods. It will be good if it is written in the menu the preparation of foods are in raw. Not easy to communicate with the staff but they try hard to understand English.
Bad service. Food will never come. Bad management, no queue. You will not get your food. Don’t think of coming here. Nobody will attend to your requirement. What a shame.
A 6 minute walk from Thong Lo BTS station and if we didn't turn on the GPS, would have missed the restaurant as you can't really see any prominent signage. Probably in Thai, which we didn't understand.
Very reasonable pricing and seems like a popular place for local celebrities with the walled plastered with their photos. Spent 1.4 million Baht for 4 pax complete with seafood. See the photos attached. Best dish was the raw prawns.
ผู้คนพลุกพล่าน บรรยากาศสบายๆ ข้าวต้ม ข้าวสวยสั่งได้ง่าย อาหารหลากหลายอร่อยเหลือเกิน it very nice. I’m take again later.
If you've had a few drinks, this is the best place to be in Thailand. Plum and minced pork soup is delicious and will save you for another day
My go to place for Chinese style porridge with dishes. The must order dish is the minced pork with sour plum soup. The tangy taste of the sour plum was delightfully refreshing. The Steamed fish in Soya sauce was fresh and not fishy at all. Tried the stir fried minced pork with preserved olives for the first time. The olives were crispy and salty and definitely good to go with porridge. Location is great as it is walking distance from thonglo bts. However, parking might be a little challenging.
No frills Thai Chinese restaurant that's actually frequented by Thai Celebs. The food didn't disappoint!
