This restaurant has always been my favorite French restaurant in Bangkok. It is a classical fine dining place with a not too formal atmosphere, which I quite prefer. However, I have not been here for a while. Today, I happened to be near the place during lunch, so I decided to go there for their lunch set menu, which is a real bargain. The breads which they offer quite a variety is always good here. My first course today was cold potatoes and leek cream soup with smoked trout and herring cavier which was very light and complex. The main for me today was grilled beef steak with French fries and salads. The sauce tasted good, but the steak was overdone. I ordered medium rare and got a well done steak. I opted for cheese plate rather than dessert, which was good. They were quite generous with the cheese. The service was very cortious, polite and friendly but not too much. The chef owner was there to chat with customers as usual. Overall, I still like this place a lot and will definitely go back, although it will not get 5 stars this time because of the steak.

First time here. Took first choice lunch set (Tenderloin steak + Baba Rum) with high hope. Medium rare turned out pretty rare & chewy and needed massive amount of salt to make it tasty. Baba was OK. Bread was good.

Good things are super attentive service and nice classic atmosphere.

Friend said soup and stew are good, try next time.

Possibly the best French restaurant in Bangkok/Thailand! The chef used to cook for the late king. Best souffle in the world!

Probably one of the finest French restaurant in Thailand. Philippe cooking is authentic, flavorful and wholesome. The quality has been very consistent well over 20 years. My personal favorite is Ox Tongue Stew which is probably the best I’ve tasted to date from any restaurant around the world.

Service is excellent and wine list are well constructed and fairly priced. Highly recommended.

Thoroughly enjoyable affair. The set menu saved deliberating over a large selection of mains, and provided a wonderful taster of several options. We were offered a seat either downstairs or upstairs, the latter delivering a considerably more private and relaxed environment. Choose the booth style seating if you can. Scrumptious.

Good food quality, good service. I like to come here occasionally. Cheese set in dessert menu should come with bread or they should offer some bread. Lunch price has been increasing every year.

A classic, great food and equally attentive service. The restaurant has been around for a long time and it is an absolute please to see the dedication and drive of the owner! Philippe 3.7 First time at the excellent traditional French restaurant on Soi 39. The tasting menu was great and staff where really good. When we arrived I was soaking wet, having been caught in a sudden down pour, they went straight off to get me a dry shirt (a chiefs jacket that surprisingly fitted).

Very good French classic food. Somewhat outdated ambiance. Good wine list with reasonable prices. Food overpriced.

Food is excellent but it took so long. I arrived at 7pm and now 10: 30pm, I didn’t get main course yet. If you would like to come, please check w Chef first whether they can handle so many customer or not.

Prefect as always. The opera singi g during Valentine was a great addition. They did not force the set menu in you so we were very comfortable and end up ordering more than we should)

Excellent food in reasonable price.
I tried the Xmas lunch menu, the price is around 850baht. Need to book in advanced, easy access by BTS, JUST 5 mins walk from the BTS station, also it provide a few parking lot too.

Traditional french, freshest ingredients perfectly cooked. The environment is old style but it has a certain charme nevertheless. Mr Philippe knows what is french cuisine; just the wine list could be more inspiring

This restaurant was fantastic. This restaurant serves french food, but the presentation is not over the top. Basic presentation with fantastic tasting food. A must try.

Bangkok's old famous. Too bad the menu doesnt keep up with newer customer and changing palate. Food was quite disappointing. Average service. At this price the restaurant needs to deliver a bit more for value.
