Jim Thompson Restaurant and Wine Bar reviews
34 Only if you're visiting Jim Thompson house
But then you'll discover that the prices are rather high while what you get is not exceptional.
On the other hand, the place is nice, you can sit and have a rest before continuing visiting Bangkok, which might be exhausting after a long day.
So more for the rest and the break than for the food.
We came to visit Jim Thompson House and ended up eating at the restaurant and we are SO glad we did! The food was absolutely amazing! Papaya salad was one of the best I've ever had!
Excellent meal. Great value. We ended the meal with the banana caramel tart, which was deliciously light and tangy.
I really enjoyed the restaurant, the food was fresh, tasty and looked really appealing. The toilet outside the restaurant is a little inconvenient
We had the mushroom soup with jasmine rice and the pomelo salad. Both were delicious. The waiter brought us an extra plate so we could share.
We only had coffee and Thai tea here after our tour. I was tickled pink drinking out of a bamboo straw. Wonder if they reuse it by some sort of special cleaning process.hmmm
It was a very beautiful dinner, the decoration and dance show also earned some point. Food quality is decent. It is hidden in a narrow alley but restaurant offers shuttle service to the nearest BTS station for our convenience.
The restaurant serves beautifully presented food that tastes fantastic. There are floor shows with authentic Thai dancing, and service is first class. The setting is very thoughtfully designed to give a local vibe, which creates a relaxing atmosphere to enjoy your dining experience.
Beautiful house worth visiting while in Bangkok to learn about silk. I'm also a big fan of their store. Although pretty expensive, you can still get good things without going overboard.
First of all you have to buy tickets to look around the museum. It is not allowed to look around by yourself. Only guided tour is permitted.
Super overpriced. Can't hate it because it was clean and very pretty. Ambiance costs a little too much here.
Music on the lanai was a little too loud and bad 80s pop.
Thai coffee was the lousiest I have ever had in Thailand or anywhere ever. So lousy with only condensed milk and ice cubes. Totally wrong, totally overpriced and totally designed for tourists with absolutely no clue.
I had lunch at this restaurant last week. I saw Jim Thomson House and tried to eat with pleasure, but cockroaches came out during the meal. I understand that this restaurant is a street restaurant, but it was a terrible experience because I thought it was a fine restaurant. They exchanged food, but they did not even apologize.
Great historical tour of Jim Thompson's house. Good break from the busy downtown vibe just a few minute away from walk.
Great place to have a good dinner for work, with friends o simply with your wife like me.
Nice service and food
