SYLVAN Koh Chang

Best location and sea view, esp from breakfast point. One of Thailand's best spa facilities. Large and comfortable room. Great facilities and outdoor activities for guests of all types (must-try kayaking to a nearby island). Efficient and helpful staff.

I've lived in Thailand for a long time and visited all the tourist attractions, but I think this hotel's private beach is the best so far.

Depending on the season, during low tide, the water level drops enough to allow you to walk to a nearby island, and during high tide, you can see the rare phenomenon of the entire white sand beach being filled with emerald sea water. (Good for kayaking or paddling.) Moreover, it is the clearest and cleanest seawater I have ever seen in Thailand, so no matter how you take a picture, you will end up with a picture of your life. It's also nice that since it's a private beach at the hotel, there are no outsiders, so you can leisurely spend time on the beach all day. It's quiet because it's connected to the beach and pool.

There are a total of 3 to 4 buildings on a vast site, and there are various facilities such as lodging, restaurants, spa, beach swimming pool, and infinity pool on the hillside, so you can spend time in various ways in different atmospheres. (You can take an elevator-type gondola from the beach to the mountainside, or you can call a buggy in front of your room and it will come right away. The staff is also very friendly.) In particular, at the spa in the hotel, you can receive an incredible quality massage at a reasonable price. (I have been living in Bangkok for 9 years, and have visited many hotel massage therapists. I can’t believe I found the best here.)

The food at the hotel's restaurant is good, and the bars near the hotel are not far away, so it's easy to go out and have a drink as they call a car from the lobby for 50 baht per person.

Satisfaction that exceeds expectations. A hotel I would definitely recommend.

This hidden hotel is a gem. What calm, surrounded by nature where we had the chance to see a female monkey and her baby behind the window of the Spa. We love being away from the crowds and the location of this hotel is wonderful for spending holidays with friends or family.
Ideal gift for a honeymoon or birthday.

Stayed three nights on seaview room. Little outdated facility but solid choice to stay in Ko Chang regardless although little further south. Resort is located in secluded area as such it’s not on a main drag. Still you can always hop on a bus to take you to the nearby restaurants/bars. You can rent kayak to explore near by little islands if that’s your thing. Early morning walk along the beach before delicious breakfast buffet is priceless. Main restaurant (seaview restaurant) was being renovated while my visit, looks to be gorgeous once completed. I would come back here to stay without any hesitation.

Recommendation for a mindless vacation~ You don’t need to prepare anything. Even if you don’t go anywhere else and just stay in the resort, it’s no problem. The facilities in the resort are very complete. Some of them require fees. You can ask the counter first how the fees are calculated. All All fees are settled after check-out! So you don’t have to worry about using money when walking around the resort empty-handed~ It’s really convenient! The breakfast is very delicious and changes every day during your stay. It’s very Be careful. All the staff are very friendly. The private beach is really clean and beautiful. It only takes ten minutes to rent a rubber boat and paddle to the opposite island. The infinity pool is really beautiful and the view is great. It is right next to the most beautiful sunset viewing platform on Kaibai Beach, so here we are You can see the picturesque sunset from the resort. It is very convenient to rent a motorcycle for 250 per day. The sunset restaurant in the resort is also convenient, inexpensive and delicious. The room also thoughtfully provides towels and bags for playing in the water

I want to vindicate the negative reviews I saw:
There are many negative comments saying that there are small bugs and ants. This is a very primitive jungle place. If you are afraid of bugs, don’t choose to travel in a natural environment.

There are also negative reviews saying that the room is too small. My room is very big? When booking a room, you should confirm your room type before making a reservation.

There are also negative comments about the bad attitude of the staff, but I really haven't encountered it at all? If I were really friendly to others, I believe I would get a friendlier response. During my four days and three nights in Koh Chang, even the cleaning staff would politely smile and say hello when they saw us passing by. The restaurant staff would always say good morning whenever we passed by! Hello! What do you want to eat today? Really. Very friendly.

I really can't deduct points from this resort. There are mosquitoes and ants in the park because the environment is natural. It's nothing! Sometimes when I get up in the morning to have breakfast, I see a dead dragonfly surrounded by ants, so just go around it carefully! When I came back from a full meal, I didn’t see anything~ It can be seen that the staff had cleaned up! It’s not what I saw, it’s something~ The staff don’t stay in the same place 24 hours a day~ The hotel is very big and they are also very busy! Four days and three nights It’s really thoughtful that the breakfast dishes are not repeated. I really just want to give Sylvan points. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to go to Koh Chang!

I recently stayed at SYLVAN for Songkran holidays, and unfortunately, my experience was not as expected. I would like to share my feedback with others who are considering staying at this hotel.

Firstly, it's important to note that SYLVAN is not a new hotel but has rebranded from the Ko Chang Sea View Resort. The hotel's website and pictures on booking platforms suggest a secluded and peaceful setting, but this is not the case.

The hotel is one of the biggest resorts on the island, and guests cannot park their scooters in front of their units, requiring them to park in the main parking area, which can be inconvenient when returning to the room at night. They will tell you this is for the peacefulness of the guest, but they are actually using vehicles all day long all around.

Upon arrival at 3 PM, our room was not ready, and we had to wait. As frequent visitors to Ko Chang, we chose this hotel to experience a higher standard, but unfortunately, the experience did not live up to our expectations. The staff was friendly and tried their best to please customers, but the lack of English-speaking staff made communication difficult and led to a less than satisfactory customer experience.

The deluxe room we booked appeared outdated, and the air conditioning did not work correctly, causing a three-hour wait a morning for a technician to fix it. Additionally, the lighting monitoring system used in the room was inconvenient, as it meant leaving a light on all night if you want to charge your phones close to your bed. The internet Wi-Fi was unreliable, making it unsuitable for digital nomads or those who require a stable internet connection.

If you're planning to work remotely, it's better to go to another side of the island. The pictures on booking platforms show you a nice secluded hotel, but this is actually one of the biggest resorts on the island. You have to use a funicular to go for breakfast on the 4th floor, which can take up to 10+ minutes if you're unlucky. So beware if you wake up late and plan to catch a last-minute breakfast, you will not get it.

On a positive note, the breakfast offered was great, but I don't recommend this hotel to young couples or digital nomads, as it is more suited to families.

In conclusion, I hope the hotel management can address these issues to provide a more enjoyable experience for future guests.

แต่ติเรื่องการบริการ ค่อนข้างแย่ มีเหตุการณ์ ไม่ประทับใจหลายครั้ง เช่น ตอนเช้าทานอาหารเดินตักเองทุกอย่าง แต่พอขอกาแฟเย็น พนักงานเดินมาเสริฟ พร้อมพูดว่า หัวหน้าบอกว่าครั้งหน้าให้ทำเอง จะบริการเฉพาะห้องวิลล่าเท่านั้น 2. มีการถือป้ายมาให้ดูว่าห้องอาหารปิด 10โมง แขกรู้เวลาอยู่แล้ว แต่เดินมาแบบนี้เป็นการไล่ เสียบรรยากาศมากค่ะ

ตอนแรกคิดว่า เป็นที่ๆมาซ้ำได้ เพราะชอบธรรมชาติที่นี่ และเดินทางสะดวก แต่พอเจอคำ
พูดแบบนี้ คงไม่มาแล้ว เสียลูกค้าด้วยกาแฟเย็นแก้วเดียว ในราคานี้พักที่อื่นได้ เซนทาราดีและถูกกว่าค่ะ

ที่พักเงียบสงบ สถานที่กว้างขวาง ร่มรื่น บรรยากาศดีมากแต่อยากให้ปรับปรุงเรื่องรสชาติอาหารและเครื่องดื่ม คือที่ทานมาไม่ค่อยอร่อยค่ะ และพนักงานแผนกต้อนรับไม่ค่อยสนใจแขกที่มาพัก ไม่มีการทักทายและไม่เสนอตัวในการให้ความช่วยเหลือใดๆ ควรจะยิ้มแย้มแจ่มใสมากกว่านี้ ถ้าเปรียบเทียบกับพนักงานขับรถรับส่งแขกไปห้องพัก คือพนักงานขับรถมี service mind ดีมากค่ะ

Wunderschöne Anlage & Zimmer. Äußerst freundliches Service. Ein Ort um es sich einfach gut gehen zu lassen. Einen Punkt Abzug gibt es wegen dem Essen, Fruhstuckabuffett Okay, Restaurant gibt es bessere außerhalb oder direkt neben an. Würden sicherlich wiederkommen!

Big resort on top of the hill with very beautiful stunning view. The staff is very friendly and helpful.the breakfast was delicious plus very beautiful Seaview from sitting area. We come as a group of 12 and have an wonderful experience with their service.

The only issue is the room was dated and need some maintenance. We book 3 deluxe family room. One room have faulty shower head and broken door look.and another room the front door lock is jam. Sometimes we can’t open or lock our room.

Overall is good 9/10

We spent 4 days here and we left with a really good memory. There is a wedding event here that make the vibes so romantic. The hotel is beach front and it is a nice beach scene. Hotel is really clean and staff is always cheerful, nice and happy to help. We highly recommend to spend your time here when you visit Koh Chang

Big resort spread out on the side of a hill. Found the beach and facilities at this resort good and the view from most places on the resort very nice.

Stayed in a deluxe beachfront room and was quite disappointed for the price I paid. The room was dated, a bit smelly and with an old odd design. It didn't have basic things like charging points near the bed. The rooms would do well with a renovation as the view is quite nice.

Otherwise the staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was okay.

Rainforest spa is so good, relax and so comfortable.amazing place because you can get experience and all activities in hotel.eat, drink, swim, walking, kayak, paddle board.
