High Season Pool Villa & Spa

We were there in April this year. A beautiful and well-kept facility, staff very hard working and extremely friendly. However, we decided to upgrade on the spot because the standard bungalow halves lacked privacy and we found the fence directly behind the pool to be unsightly. The upgrade to the Grand Pool Villa in close proximity to the large pool was the right decision. Despite all this, we see some room for improvement for a resort in this price range. Arriving at the hotel in the midday heat, we missed a nice welcome cocktail that we were used to at the other lower priced resorts we visited in Thailand. Instead there was water from plastic bottles without glass or anything else. Likewise, the minibar didn't offer anything more than water. An absolute no-go for us. At a price of €450 per night you can expect more. Even the daily night greeting in the form of the same sweets, just in a different form, cannot compensate for this. A minibar includes various soft drinks, a selection of sweets such as chocolate bars and, for a resort of this class, something alcoholic such as beer. This is standard in resorts that only cost a third (Sylvan Koh Chang for example). There were also no snacks in the room; some fruit should also be available here. We're much more used to that. It's a shame that there's no drink service at the pool, whereas in other facilities you can even order food to the pool. This is much better and the system therefore falls short of our expectations. We'll probably have to go a little further on our next visit and switch to Soneva. It's a shame, because the complex itself is very nice and the good breakfast also impressed us and left little to be desired. But the points mentioned can actually be improved at little cost (minibar can be charged for, but there should be more than water in it.then why minibar at all?). I hope the hotel will take this to heart, because this service is what makes a 5 star hotel.

A very beautiful but expensive hotel with amazing wide shallow beach. Breakfast is rich. Hotel's food is 5 star - price. Every evening they sent some fruits or sweets to the room. Koyaks and surfboards are free for quests. There is a river you can koyak to search its end. Hope next time they will not forget pickup their quests from the speed boat at the pier.

One of the best hotels in Thailand.
The service is perfect, all the employees work very well from Yeye at breakfast, Ice at the service, Toy, Kapom at the reception. And I don't remember the names of those who don't.
It is a very clean, quiet hotel, located on a very good beach that is practically the hotel's. Free kayak service and very close to one of the most beautiful waterfalls on the island. If I returned to the island, I would return to this same hotel without hesitation.

Very friendly staff and service oriented! I have to say the villa we had was fabulous, cocktails on the beach were good (although typical resort prices), common pool was great, breakfast was so so, beach is perfect. Location is near some fabulous restaurants.

Worth the 8 hrs travel from BKK!
The staff are super nice and accommodating. The location is fantastic, sea in front and river out back where you can kayak then walk for 5 mins to the beautiful Klong Chao waterfall! Most surprisingly, the food is amazinggggggg!

Es war ein toller Aufenthalt in einem super schönen Hotel. Alle Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Besonders hervorheben möchten wir Pepe und Nat.

Die Zimmer sind groß und haben super bequeme Betten. Der Pool ist das Highlight.

1. Room and in-room facilities are nice and well prepared

2. Staff is friendly and supportive. However, with this room rate, i expect higher standard/ professional process (compared to similar price range hotels). For example, staff at the breakfast, provided service during peak hour, should be able to manage traffic and service better. Overall, front staff and daily maid provided good and friendly service.

3. Restaurant: The taste (Thai and Italian food) is a little below average, i would recommend to visit local restaurant around the hotel (reasonable price and good quality). Breakfast is good, there are hot station for eggs menu and cold pressed juice with buffet line.

4. Dining on Bird Nest: Good view but the food is poor (~3,500 thb set including stir fried vegetable, local crab curry, salad roll, mango sticky rice). Nice to try but do not expect on the food

5. Massage on the beach is good. Relaxing vibe with well trained therapists.

6. Convenience in transportation: the hotel provided great service from High Season lounge to landed transportation to the hotel. No need to worry/carry your luggages at all.

I loved everything about this resort: from staff, through room to facilities.
The villa's are spacious, very clean and very well maintained. The beach is very nice, the area very cozy. You really feel like in a paradise. Staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast was amazing (they do even have a chill room for cold cuts and cava). I have been multiple times in Thailand but this hotel is so far one of the best ones! I would definitely come back.
If I have to find something for improvement: Wifi is not reliable, so in case you plan to work from here, you might need portable Wifi modem.

Look no further if you are looking for a quality place to stay in Koh Kood!
The resort staffs are amazing! From front desk to beach bar, housekeeping to gardener, they all excelled in excellent customer service!
Our deluxe pool villa was spacious and clean, pool was in decent size but water was just ok. The staff cleaned up our villa and turndown our bed everyday. Extra water bottles and sweets was nice touch. They also lighted up mosquito coil every evening. The common pool was huge and deep. The beach is one of the best in Koh Kood has white sand and crystal clean water, it was clean and had no rubbish.
Breakfast, with international and Thai selections, is one of the best has egg station, fresh cold pressed juice station and cold room with cheese and sparkling wine! However the restaurant food was not good for the price, there are cheaper and nicer food outside resort but they close early around 8.30pm.
The bed and pillows are very comfy with quality sheets. The beach bar is a must visit for sunset during happy hour 5-6pm daily.
The resort has a nature theme, so having insects, beasties, butterflies, birds and bat is inevitable but the staffs are there to clean up the villa daily. We do not have any ants or insects in our room during our 3 nights stay, it was clean. They can only be seen outside the room which is a lush lovely tropical garden. We really enjoyed our stay in HS. Please remember to contact resort prior to your arrival for your pick up. Different speed boat company uses different piers.

Great resort! Wonderful facilities and breakfast. Pepe our host was the best host in the world. She cared about everything and tried to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Breakfast was fantastic! The fresh juice bar station was a nice touch. Tnx so much for having us!

Areas of improvement:
Prices are insanely high in the restaurant, not worth it in any way (e.g 240 thb for San Pellegrino soda, where all prices are +10% and +7% in addition with some “local tax” claim). Whilst Koh Kood is such an underdeveloped island, it just feels unreal to charge so much. Also, we ordered a pizza that was just horrible. Seriously, the dough, the sauce, vegetables were all very very bad. (While Thai food was excellent.) We also had a bat in our room that stayed with us for 3 days. It didn’t disturb much, but did poop all over our shoes and left a mess every morning in our room’s entrance.

I wish the management would take more action.

Stayed 2 nights in july 2022. Our family booked 3 rooms.

-spa toilet had pee splattered from previous guest, as a female person who has to sit or wipe other people’s pee down before you can release is kinda disgusting at this level of a resort.

-first dinner was at the hotel restaurant. The fish dishes we ordered were smelly to the point we know these fish are not fresh and not healthy to eat

-we were hype up from previous reviews that loved their coconut water. 1st day, they say they run out of coconut, 2nd day they say they didnt go buy new coconut to prepare yet. On our daytrip to other nearby resorts we got our coconut juice on a different resort.

-their gym is old, not a standard 5 star hotel resort gym. Needs improvement.

-as a 5 star resort they need to add jacuzzi in every room. They dont even have a whirlpool are in their swimming pool. Its a big let down when we travel thailand and see so many beautiful place better equipped at much lower price even with great location like la flora in khao lak.

+when arrived to the resort few staff personnel lined up at the entrance to greet our family with smile and positive vibes. That was a very good experience.

-many part of the resort has broken wood part that needs fixing. Spiky parts are pointing out which is dangerous

-tv remote is not suitable for elder people. Need upgrade to something with just few buttons to change channel.

-beach bar is closed

-saw a snake in the men toilet

-beach is dangerous and filled with beach trash. Cleaning out the trash every morning only takes like 30 min. Why wont they do it. Make a small wooden stair to go from resort area to the beach. Why wont do it?

-beach equipment not cleaned daily. Full of sand. Why not take 15 min to remove the same and prepare the beach front for resort guest? You guys are absolutely not doing any thinking here.

-walking path inside the resort is made of wood. Some part of the wood are broken. It only need one piece to fix, if left like that it’s dangerous for childrens and elder people. Where is the thiking?

-every room has an fire extinguisher next to the room entrance. Our one is fully rusted and service maintenance out of date

I know me reviewing all the bad things wont help anything if they dont fix anything.
From what i see, they wont change this in the short term. Probably waiting for more guest to arrive in high season, collecting more budget, so they can upgrade the whole thing at once.

For me, short term im not coming back.

Excellent resort. The resort are located at the most beautiful beach on the island. What make this to a 5 start experience is the service from the staff. All the way from their reception on shore to the resort on the island you are taken care of very well. The resort lush and water landscaping gives you a relaxing feeling. The rooms are large and nice and most of them got their own swimmingpool. Even though the resort was fully booked during my stay it didn't feel crowded at all. Always room at the beach, the swimmingpool and the restaurant. Highly recommended.

Absolute paradise everything and everyone in this resort was perfect! The rooms are amazing, the staff were all lovely, helping us with everything from covid testing to kid friendly food and activities, the food was delicious and the beach is out of this world. We stayed for 10 days and our only regret was having to leave. Thank you to the whole team for making our holiday unforgettable ️

Large room and clean, friendly service especially at breakfast restaurant. The hotel is located at a nice sun set - beach in Koh Kood, which is quite far from Bangkok if traveling by car, but suitable for people who look for tranquility.
Everything met my expectations, except the so called butler service, which is quite far beyond that.slow response, for example, asked for an ice bucket in the guest room, but forgot on one evening, and I reminded them the next day, and still forget.

Please make sure to get the room type with fence, if privacy is needed. We stayed in 3 rooms for 3 family and could see each other by raising the curtains.
I also heard the notice from the next villa which share the same roof and wall.
The room size is spacious, so overall I think it is okay and it was a nice stay.
