Mae Sot Boundary Post

I didn't see a single tourist, only locals here. I can't cross the border/leave Thailand to Burma because of the civil unrest. You have to choose another. Only through the airport. February 5,2024.

Update 1/28/2024 *** I should have read reviews here, cannot cross border/depart Thailand into Burma due to the civil unrest (i think). I Wasted a road trip. Foreigners plan ahead and keep track of your VISA dates. Have to choose a different border. Good luck

There is no difficulty for the righteous. Do not rely on brokers
You can get admission by yourself.

ทำหนังสือข้ามแดนได้ที่ สำนักงานออกหนังสือผ่านแดนชั่วคราว ใช้ บัตร ปปช ใบเดียวคนละ 30 บาท แค่5นาทีก็เสร็จแล้วข้ามไปเสียค่าเข้าฝังพม่าอีก 20 บาท ผมเลือกเดินเท้าข้ามไป แบบนั้งรถก็มีนะคับ

Still not open to forigner. Only open to thai people and myanmar people. Plan your trips wisely then, could be good if you call up to ask about the update.

I hope the day will come when foreigners from third countries can freely pass through the country.

อย่าข้ามสะพานไปเองจะมีพวกไกด์เถื่อนบนสะพานอยดักนักท่องเที่ยว อันตรายมาก จะเสียเงินมากกว่าที่จ้างไกด์ฝั่งไทยพาไปเสียอีก ถ้าจะข้ามไปเที่ยวมีรถพอเที่ยวจากฝั่งไทยข้ามไปแบบนั้นดีกว่าปลอดภัยกว่ามาก

ช่วงนี้ด่านปิดมา2ปี หวังเป็นอย่างยิ่งว่าจะกลับมาเปิดภายในปีนี้ครับ ทุกคนจะไม่ปิดหูปิดตาตัวเองเหมือนยั่งเคย เพราะมีเทคโนโลยีที่ทันสมัยตอบรับโจทย์กับการใช้ชีวิตในปัจจุบันในยุคการสื่อสารไร้พรมแดน เป็นกำลังใจให้ทุกธุรกิจทุกหน่วยงานทุกภาคส่วน สู้ๆครับ

วันนี้21-11-64เปิดประเทศแล้ว แต่ด่านยังไม่เปิด เรียกเปิดประเทศได้ยังไง ค้าขายเงียบมาก แม่ค้าเลิกขายไปเนอะเลยน่าสงสาร

Easy crossing, plenty of guides, Kai in particular helped me loads, in fact any other guides who know him-he lives/lived (it flooded) on the Mywaddy side near the river with wife & kids-he lost a child 3years ago in the floods, tell him-get in touch mate howwwwyyyy@gmail.com, he stands out because of a wound on his neck

Not much traffic across both borders only the queue needs to be patience for immigration clearance.

Walking from Myanmar this was a very smooth border crossing (also it seemed very messy at first).
Foreigners (understand non-local) need to go to a small office on the left side as you enter the bridge. We had to fill in a departure card, show our passport and visa and voila, took us 2min to get our exit stamp.
You then walk towards the Thai immigration post on the other side of the bridge. Foreigners (again, non-local) should then go to counter 14 and hand-over an immigration card. We (EU citizens) got a 1-month stay in the country.
Many songthaews were parked, but all seemed empty. A taxi driver to the bus station should cost 100-150bahts, we then caught a minivan to Sukhotai leaving at 1pm.

Leaving Thailand, Thai immigration was fast enough with a little line. Don’t forget your departure card.
You have to cross a 250 meter bridge over the river to get to the Myanmar immigration. First you fill in a form and than go inside a small office to get your entry stamp after showing your e-visum paper and the form. A foto is taken and you are in Myanmar.
Change money at CT-Bank to the right after 500 meter. A bit further was a lady in a small kiosk who can sell you a bus or taxi seat. And a sim card.
