Bay View Sunset Resort

We arrived at the Resort and our reservation was canceled (our mistake), Lucas immediately found us a room in another "Hotel" closer to the center, we appreciate that gesture. We were able to stay here for at least one night. It has everything basic that is needed to have a good stay. There are beautiful plants everywhere and one of the beaches is next door (Sunset Beach). We believe that people complain "because it is free to criticize", and also because they do not adapt to what is there, knowing where they are.

Away from the hustle and bustle of the downtown area, you can spend your time at the top of Sunset Beach as if on your own private beach.
The cottage is minimal, but there's nothing missing, and there's a balcony, so it's comfortable.
The food at the beachside restaurant was delicious and had very nice staff.
They were very kind to me, including catching hermit crabs for my son and lending me toys.
The beach has rocky areas and coral, so you can enjoy snorkeling. There was also a clownfish.
Kayaks can also be rented easily, so we recommend them. You can also see fish from a kayak.
It was so comfortable that I could spend the entire day on this beach, and I would love to go again.

The staff were so friendly and helpful. The garden is so beautiful and looked after. The food in the hotel restaurant is so so good, we ate there most of the time. Really enjoyed our stay.

Bit rundown for the price, much better options available on the island but still not too bad overall.

Housekeeping were good and cleaned the rooms daily. Other staff were friendly.

Quite far out from the centre, not actually that close to the beach (cabin we stayed in was about a 10 minute walk).

Beach is lovely.

The stay at Bayview Sunset Resort was fantastic. The resort is located just outside the center and therefore invites you to relax. However, the center can be reached within a few minutes on foot or resort staff offer a taxi service. The beach was clean and beautiful, after a few minutes walk along the beach you can discover several paradisiacal beaches and bays. The beach bar invites you to linger in the evenings! Would come back at any time. The rooms were cleaned every day and there was a varied selection at breakfast.

To start, the rooms are not like the photos. They are dark, small, very humid and there may be bugs. Although two last things are understandable considering that you are in the middle of nature. After asking (JUST ASKING) the woman at the reception if there would be a possibility of canceling our reservation, since the cabin did not meet what we expected, the woman became angry and began to yell and insult us in front of several staff members. He barely let us speak to explain the situation and we had gone to ask politely. When it seemed like the “argument” was over, she continued yelling at us from a distance, really very rude. We travel a lot and never, anywhere have we been treated like this. Leaving aside the state of the cabins, it was certainly no longer an option to stay at the hotel having been treated like dogs. The worst of all is that they boast that they are not going to refund your money because you already accepted certain conditions in the reservation. From what I read in other comments, I see that part of their income comes from all the reservations that are not made, but from those that do not refund the amount. In addition, I also read many comments that refer to the lack of education and bad character of the woman at the reception. If you don't want to risk ruining your vacation by having to deal with this woman, don't stay here. Cheap is expensive.

Koh Lipe is a small island
Location was great only a 10 min walk to the walking street
There are a lot of hills so taking a bike taxi is a better option 50b
This resort was well maintained, staff were all very friendly
We had our breakfast included and it was great, 5 options
The beach was granular and rocky, not a fine sand
The sunrise at the far end of the beach was great.
The stairs to and from the breakfast area are steep and plentiful 54 steps i believe, they got easier with each day.

Please do not overnight there!
We got very dirty chalet (can’t call this villa). Inside there were a lot of mosquitoes which attacked us when entering. Clean towels prepared for us were thrown on the bed like used ones… in the front desk the lady told us that we need to pay extra for the air conditioning.
When we said that we didn’t like the place the front desk didn’t even try to make us satisfied. Just accept and let us go…
There are holes between the wooden pieces where all the insects could enter inside.
It almost destroyed my stay in this beautiful island…

Very basic accomodation, pathways a danger to walk on. Lots of steps to beach, many huts zero view of sea. Not for older people

WATCH OUT! I would strongly advise against staying at this hotel. After arriving I asked to see the room before making the check in (saw another negative comments but decided to take a risk based on the low price). Unfortunately the room was super dirty and not really a place for pleasant holidays - there even ~2cm holes in the floor what is not really cool if you stay in jungle. After requesting another room I was told that they are booked 100% (pretty sure it was not true as the 'resort' seemd empty). When I disagreed to stay in that room the receptionist (very nice and polite) called owner and it all started - She started being very unpleasant, shouting thai at us and even being aggressive at some point. When I tried to leave she basically threatened that if I dont pay for the room (even-though I wont stay) she will send someone after me to follow me and find out where I will stay (it is a small island). In the end just for my own safety & peace while staying in the island I decided to pay and leave to another hotel.

The location and breakfast was really nice but there are really too many cacharoches, we found One even in the bed and It Is so disgusting. I sugggest the property to do a proper cleaning and out some poison beacuse It was really unconfortable.

My girlfriend and i stayed a few days at this very nice resort. We had an absolutely awesome time. Amazing view from our bungalow at the bay while chilling at your balcony and when waking up in your bed.wow.
The owner Lucas and his staff took great care of us. Everything was just perfect. The food, the transfers from Hat Yai, snorkling stuff, motorcycle transport to town.all!

It is very disappointing to say that I did not like anything about the resort

Where do I start.

Let me first say that we booked for four nights and left after one. Communication with the staff on site was hard. Owner and wife were away. I have written to them to explain my situation but nothing has been heard back by way of an apology or compensation. I paid in advance on arrival for 4 nights but we left after one nights stay

So the main reasons (in no particular order were:

- The beach is not cleaned/tidied unlike many other resorts on Koh Lipe that appreciate that the beach is a selling point to them.
- The resort is above the beach and on many levels with steep stairs that when wet can get slippy. Care must be paid when using the many stairs to the beach and restaurant.
- The restaurant is drab and other than one shared table not covered.
- Two beers available on the first night
- We booked two seaview rooms/huts. The one was OK. The other (my daughters) had evidence of bed bugs, no mosquito net (although this was provided when asked for) padlock for her hut didn't work (was fixed upon request). No TV as advertised (although not a major issue)
- Breakfast was served with mouldy bread.

All in all not a great experience. We voted with our feet and booked into another resort on Sunrise Beach which was so much better in comparison and cheaper! No effort or care from the resort to try and resolve

This place has seen better days. The view is great and I suppose that’s what you pay for. Loads of plastic on the beach and in the sea.

Two 1,5 inch long cockroaches were found in my air conditioning room while they were giving a birth to something. Rooster started at 3: 30AM, stray dogs barked all night, for 6 nights I had NO SLEEP there. Also this resort in the bad area of the island, the local Sunset beach is terrible with mountains of trash, ants, stray dogs, no room to enjoy the sea. The shocking dirty "road" to the better beaches goes through stray dogs area and super busy not regulated motorbike traffic. The fan rooms are just literally meters away from the bumpy road with hundreds motorbikes passing by every few seconds, I had to stay in one of them because Resort couldn't provide the room I booked for my first night. Not relaxing and peaceful at all as this property advertises itself. WARNING: Please read more recent reviews about Koh Lipe itself, we found this particular island very unpleasant and couldn't wait to leave.

Ein sehr schönes, einfaches Resort am Sunset Beach, abseits vom Trubel. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Nach kürzester Zeit hat man sich schon Zuhause gefühlt und der Aufenthalt hatte etwas von einem Familienbesuch gehabt. Danke

Great place and beers. The one thing that was dissapointing is that they frequently double charge their guest without realizing. We were staying there for 3D2N and was double charged twice on different occasion.

The first time we got it rectified at the counter. The second time however I only realized it after i got home to my home country and noticed additional charges was billed onto my card. Prior to leaving this comment I have called them on their land-line (via Skype) but no one picked up, then I emailed them and there was no reply. After a week, I messaged them on their Facebook messenger but one week passed and there was absolutely no reply whatsoever to my query. They probably are only interested to entertain prospect guests.

I hope future guest will not have to go through this as it's frustrating to get double - charged for nothing. Please take note to train your staff on taking payment and ensure they do not double charge your guest.

Five stars for the location. Right on the beach, which was never over crowded. Restaurants there served good food and drinks. Staff were lovely. Would give three stars for the room as was too small and dark. Sink was dirty when we arrived and the sheets didn’t feel particularly clean (a bit sticky). Maybe we just unlucky?
