Siam Mandarina Hotel

I used it because it had high reviews.
Check in first. The front desk staff and the person who carried our luggage were very kind. The boy carried our luggage to our room and explained the room to us.
However, there was a problem with that room. When I got off the elevator, I smelled something strange. When I entered the room, there was a strong smell of mold. Therefore, I had to wear a mask at all times when I was in my room, including when sleeping. There was also no water in the shower, so I poured hot water into the bathtub and washed my body and head.
Everyone at the front desk was kind, so I would like to stay again if the problem with the strange smell in the room is resolved.

I booked this hotel for a brief stay while waiting for an early flight out of BKK — the reviews seemed great & it was *posed* as a 5 star resort… great!

Where do I begin…. Since I had 6 hours to kill while waiting to go back to the airport, I figured I’d book a room upgrade “Deluxe Airport View Double Room. ” On my way there I was concerned, what if it’s too noisy from the airport… WELL that wasn’t a concern. Instead there was an outside club/party going on across the street. The bass & music was so loud it gave me an excruciating tension headache & any hope of me getting a few hours of sleep before a 25 hour journey home just flew out the window (no pun intended).
I called downstairs to ask to change rooms not facing this as I would like to get some sleep (you would think they would bring this up during check in & ask if I would prefer a room elsewhere… they didn’t). The *Only* (remember this bc its important later) room that they could offer me was a downgrade, but could not promise me a refund in the price difference. They told me they would speak to the manager to get approval but would not know until 2am.

Eager to get some semblance of sleep I agreed to switch…. But there was the same issue. This room also faced the music/party so boom boom boom went my headache. Not only that but there were dark black hairs on the night stand and on the bathroom counter (I have blonde hair) … YUCK. Additionally, the sink would not drain & there was no hot water — how fun!
I brought this all up to the front desk & they informed me that they had no other room to move me to.

Frustrated, disgusted & exhausted, I finally called back about 15 min later & low & behold they found another room to move me to… why couldn’t they have just put me here the first time around?

This room was probably the most basic they had, but it had no music issue so I did not care… although I still wanted the refund for the price difference.
I called to the front desk to enquire about the conversation with the manager & they told me they could not give me an answer.
At this point, I called Priceline/Agoda who I had booked it with to see what they could do… they were not very helpful at all. They said the hotel wanted me to handle it with them & to call the lobby directly. At this point it was 1: 30 am and I was to leave for the airport at 5am.

I called the front desk again, per Priceline/Agoda’s advice. The manager - who was suddenly available! - offered me a free breakfast for the inconvenience - which starts at 6am - to which I informed him I have to be at the airport at 5am. He offered to move me back to my original room “because the music has now stopped. ” Yes, let me move 4 rooms total for what was only supposed to be a 6 hour stay.
It was all a huge inconvenience; I was disgusted & unable to sleep. I would have been better off staying at the airport the entire time.

Regarding the refund, he claims he is raising it to the upper manager but who knows if I will ever get a response or just have to end up disputing this with my credit card company.

Additionally, the gym is not open 24/7 so don't expect that & only the bar is open late.as far as amenities it seems to fall very short. I did not see the pool as that was not open either.

I am not sure who granted this 5 star hotel status.but it is 2 stars at most.

We stayed as a couple one night before the plane left.

The distance to the airport is perfect, the transfer included. Almost 17 minutes.
The team was very friendly.

The room had a view of BKK airport and was therefore interesting.
The room was very clean.
The capsule coffee machine was in the wrong place (as was the kettle), because I had to walk across the room with the coffee machine to find a socket.

The internet was insanely slow… annoying. And I'm not talking about downloading HD movies or YouTube, but just surfing Google etc.

Prices in the bar are high (and no tax in the menu?)

The breakfast buffet was large, but unfortunately there was no cheese and the orange juice was not replenished.

The outdoor pool was on the 1st floor and was clean, but unfortunately very noisy due to the multi-lane road next to it.
Please do not leave the plants by the pool

The fitness room was large and modernly furnished.

The hotel is close to the airport, and the right for one night is only for those who have a flight on the second day, and they have free transportation to and from the airport, and this is an advantage that counts for them.

Old-fashioned, old air conditioning and a bit noisy.
Very good bed.
Nice little swimming pool, large fitness room.

Exceptional hotel with the most convenient location just outside of the airport. Their breakfast buffet and van to the airport are wonderful amenities. Will stay again during late night arrivals.

Stayed over for a night during my business trip. The room is clean, spacious, and have all the amenities I wanted. I stayed at the highest floor, but could still hear some noise of the traffic.

The gym and pool is closed during my stay so I couldn't get to use them.

Breakfast choice was limited, but decent enough to fill my stomach.

When checking out, they booked a car for me to the airport which is really nice of them. Thumbs up for that!

Bug in bathroom - no hot water. We changed rooms and you can see the pictures of the room condition. This is NOT a 5 star hotel.

Rooms are nice but can't open the window as it's always locked. The aircon is just a dial on the wall not a remote.

The restaurant is overpriced for the quality that you receive. I ordered an entree and what I thought was a main but came out smaller than the entree itself. I waited an hour before I asked where the food was. It came out shortly after but it was cold. I told the lady at the bar that my food was cold so they sent it back. Another 20 minutes later and the food was back. But all they had done was put it in a microwave. The worst part was that I didn't get an apology or anything for the wait or quality of the food

The food was okay. Nothing amazing. And I'm a chef so even though I have standards I can understand that not all places have amazing food. But a 5 star hotel? It should have fantastic food. It doesn't.

All in all for 3 nights it wasn't worth it. Just an average experience at best. The food was the biggest issue I faced. It's close to the airport though so that's nic Honestly just find another place to stay unless you only need to sleep between flights.

This property locates near Suvanabhumi airport. The room and the service are wonderful. Airport transfer is available.

Left my wedding ring in the hotel and the staff went above and beyond in ensuring it was returned to me. Thank you Siam Mandarina Hotel. Rooms are great and the food was also very nice.

A bit of a hotel oasis in the middle of Thai chaos. Good size room. Western style. Happy enough as a airport hotel which is about 3km away and 300-600 baht (hotel books and charges 500)

We stayed there waiting for PCR result.

Despite “executive suite” we had to wait for our kids bed, then for their towels…
Room was very old age one, food was… special. Finally we were happy to get negative test results to leave this place and take a proper breakfast somewhere else

We stayed here for our one night quarantine while waiting for our test results (when that was a thing). Rooms were nice and the food was good - although it took over an hour to get our dinner when we arrived and we're starving. Location is on a busy road and I would say this is fine of you need a hotel less than 10 min from the airport.

Very nice facility with friendly workers. They are accommodating in every way. Rooms were clean, very spacious and comfortable.

Hatte hier eine Übernachtung wegen alternative Quarantäne. Hotel war sehr gut. Staff war supernett und haben sofort auf Wünsche reagiert. Nah beim Flughafen. Den hat man aber im Zimmer nicht gehört. Ausblick auf dem Flughafen im Raucherbereich draussen in der 3 Etage. Genial. Kann man wärmstens Empfehlen
