Tai Kak Pier reviews
7The pier from where boats with food and other household supplies depart to the nearby islands. A ticket to Payam Island costs 200 baht. The boat departs on schedule at 10 am. In fact, the boat departs as it is loaded, and is usually slightly delayed. The journey takes about two hours. There is no toilet on the boat. Overall a pleasant boat trip.
From there the slow boat travels to Koh Phayam. Goods are delivered and motorcycles are transported. Of course, back from Phayam to Ranong. The service is okay if you have goods delivered from Ranong to Phayam or vice versa.
Of course people are also transported. The duration of the trip is around 1½ hours. The boat trip is very comfortable and leaves lasting impressions. If you have time and are visiting the beautiful island of Koh Phayam for the first time, I would recommend this variant of the crossing. A few snacks are a great way to while away the time of the crossing and take in the view of Burma and of course the side of Thailand.
Good slow boat Service
Need about 2 house and give a good feeling to go koh phayam
Make sure you budget enough time to get to this pier. The road goes through a busy neighbourhood. It's very '1980' in here, and you have to be patient. I found the boat operators and ferry companies to be super friendly, but they also can't help you that much if something goes wrong. I had a positive experience. Note that the only money changing here is Burmese - Thai. Nothing else. Don't expect to get RMB-Thai or HKD- Thai in Ranong.
Ferry to Myanmar Islands to renew visa & experience rivers seas & the cultural Myanmar (formerly Burma) is a Southeast Asian nation of more than 100 ethnic groups, bordering India, Bangladesh, China, Laos and Thailand. Yangon (formerly Rangoon), the country's largest city, is home to bustling markets, numerous parks and lakes, and the towering, gilded Shwedagon Pagoda, which contains Buddhist relics and dates to the 6th century.
Getting your boat to Koh Pahyam - there's only one ferry a day at 10am, passenger tickets are 200 baht and for the motorcycle (depending if it's a "big bike" or a regular bike) I paid 300 baht for my bike, a Kawasaki 650.
Easy to get on, they do their best to make sure your bike doesn't topple over. I had calm seas and the ferry goes slow enough to not rock too much.
