JJ Resort & Restaurant

Simple bungalows in a perfect beach location. The small and beautifully landscaped resort has its own restaurant right on the beach/sea, and the staff is extremely nice and friendly. We are coming again next year!

The location of the resort is great, the facility of the room is a bit poor, but it's ok if considering with the price. And the owner JJ and his wife Aoy, his brother-in-law Ae, with all the staffs, are all very nice, kind and helpful. And the most important thing for me, they have a fantastic great chef Soon, 62 years old, cooking more than 40 years, before cooking at Malaysia, Korea. Start to cooking at here since 10 years ago, learn how to cooking from Chinese chef, very high cooking techniques and skills, fantastic amazing, probably the best Thai chef I ever met in nearly two decades since the first time I came to Thailand within live in Thailand for one decade, two thumbs up! Also they always have very fresh fish or shrimps or squids come from Myanmar sea in the morning

A wonderful place with even more wonderful people working there. The bungalows and the restaurant, together with the beach, create a very relaxed atmosphere. In addition, there is extremely friendly and helpful service. I can recommend the resort and the restaurant to everyone.

Careful when booking this not the place on Koh Phangan. They also will not refund you your money and charge you full fee if you book for a week or more. Unethical and bad business

So why charge me the whole week!? When if you cancel three days prior you get full refund. Should be a maximum of 3 days. Not a week

Everything is to love at JJ's! Kind people, hot food, and cold drinks on beautiful Aow Yai beach. Rambo, the chef, is highly competent. I just let him surprise me with whatever. Given their great reviews I was lucky to get the bungalow that I did on on short notice. If wasn't the end of the season I likely wouldn't have got in.
I highly recommend this wonderful place!

Lovely family run business. Good energy staff and owner. Feeling so relax and safe whenever I stayed there. The atmosphere dinner by the beach is excellent! I will definitely recommend this place to everyone.

We stayed at JJ resort for a week. We slept in the tent which was more like a little house as it had a bed and we could stand in it. Every tent has its own bathroom. The staff is very nice, sweet people, very friendly. Everything is cleaned every day. The accommodation is right at the beautiful beach. The place is just great and we will definitely come back one day (and sleep in the tent again!). Thanks for everything! Nina and Stefan

Excellent place. Great food (Rambo is one of the best cooks on the island). Kind/honest staff. Comfortable beds. Great chalet style bungalows with rooftop area with hammocks. Great sunsets from the restaurant area.

Cons: no fridge in rooms. Water coming from shower/faucets is kinda sketchy. I guess it's clean, but it's pretty dark. Seems like it doesn't come from the municipal water supply, but from the swampy area in the back. Sand flies abound on Ao Yai beach. I guess it depends on the season/weather. I've spent weeks here with no issues, but other trips, got chewed up.

Beautiful place on one of the beaches of Koh Phayam, an island about 40 min by speet boat from Ranong. It takes ca 20 min to get to JJ from where the speed boat lands. Great and reasonably priced food. They have many small bungalows for rent. Wifi is available and you can rent a motorbike to travel around the island. Almost no one here when I visited in early Dec 2021. Beautiful island, beautiful place

Tourist trap. Go here if you like overcooked shrimps, bland overpriced seafood bbq and watching food being set on fire. Two stars for location and beer temperature.

Overrated. Mixed grilled seafood isn’t any special at all. Rice with vegetables was boring af. One good thing, the cocktail are strong and allright.

Stayed at villa, lovely terrace on the 2nd floor with a comfortable hammock and searing area. Bathroom is big, rooms are clean. Tents look lovely from outside, but haven't stayed in one so cannot comment more on that. Food at the restaurant is good and fresh and it gets very busy at sunset throughout the dinner. Lovely staff and management. Thank you for a lovely stay
