The Island Hideout (One Level Ahead Co., Ltd.) - ดิ ไอส์แลนด์ ไฮด์เอาท์ reviews
14 The Island Hideout is a scam: you can still book your nights (especially on Airbnb) you are charged but the place is abandoned and not "under maintenance"
The entire building is falling apart, I crossed the floor, it was so rotten and I seriously injured my leg.
Don't go there, this place is dangerous!
Be careful, this hotel is still available on some platforms like airbnb, yet it is in ruins and dangerous.
The advertisements available are scams, you will find nothing but an abandoned hotel whose floor is crumbling.
The place itself is cool - you can judge by the pictures. However we found that it was a bit of a bit of a rip off.
For the dinner which was not cooked onsite but takeaway from some other Thai restaurant (nothing special, not fresh and cold cause it got delivered) they charged triple of the usual price!
There are holes in the wooden floors around the pool and seating area where you can seriously hurt yourself.
During our 2 day stay it stormed every day which was a bit scary when you stay at the tree house and no one explained you what the nature around looks like. We were wondering which kind of animals or possible dangers to expect. Unfortunately the roof of our house had holes so the water came in. Luckily not over the bed.
We heard motorbikes and some weird electrical beeping throughout the night (I thought the houses are electricity-fee? !) apart from the wind and the sounds of the jungle. I am a nature lover but could not close an eye during the night. This made the stay more stressful than relaxing. It’s a cool place to visit, an interesting experience but we would not consider doing it ever again.
It reminded us of a lost place since we were the only guests and we were glad to leave again after two nights. Maybe it was a better place to hang out Before COVID but now without people it’s just depressing.
Also I want to mention it’s a mosquito heaven so if you mind getting bites all over your body this place isn’t for you either.
This is a unique place, and if you are on the fence on staying here, please do. There is something quite magical to sleeping and waking basically outside in the jungle.
The concept is executed very well for the most part. It did get cold in the night, a light blanket would be a welcome addition. The hammock crushed down under me multiple times even after staff tried to tie it firmly (am 75kg).
What prevented me from staying longer is the pricing of the meals, e.g. Around 440THB for a very average Thai dish.
Amazing spot if you want to fully get away from everything. Beautiful private treetop huts, an amazing pool with an even nicer view and its run by super friendly people. The perfect place for a unique luxury stay in the middle of the jungle!
This was a great finding to close our day in the Island! If you are about nature, good food and simplicity this is the place. A bit hard to get there but that’s part of the adventure.
Staff is super welcoming and made us feel like home
Beautiful place, but awful experience. No fans or air con — fine — if the treehouses were built to allow a breeze. With no breeze and 40 degree weather, we didn’t sleep for three nights and finished a wonderful three week holiday exhausted. The owner, who was away (and left a young student fresh from Germany in charge instead of one of the experienced Thai staff?), was unhelpful and offered nothing to try make our experience better. They gave us a little complementary plate of watermelon to say sorry. Food nice, but super overpriced and you can eat at locally owned, locally produced places across the island that are much more delicious.
We were scheduled to stay at The Island Hideout in January 2019. However, tropical storm Pabuk unexpectedly came during dry season so the ferry service to the island shut down and we were unable to reach the location. We were not issued a refund for our two night stay even though there was no way for us to physically get to the hotel. We were told to use travel insurance to cover the cost. It was very unprofessional when it was clearly not our fault at all for the cancelation. We will not consider staying here on our next visit.
It’s our second time at the island hideout and we love it! It’s so romantic, beautiful and just relaxing! We love how close you get to the nature and forget about everything around you. It’s a perfect place to disconnect and reboot batteries. The restaurant and the staff make it even more special and worth coming!
Great place to scape and just relax, Very tricky to get there though, the staff could put more signs along the dirt road, because at some point for foreigners is go with intuition or go Back. But worth the visit.
A little gem in the jungle, beautiful bungalows and lovely food, friendly staff and laid back vibe, the family loved it.
What an amazing place, after a bit of a treck down a bumpy road finally found it.
The view was breathtaking, so nice to be up above the jungle looking out.
Didn't stay the night but had a look at one of the villas and wow they looked so nice.
Food was great also.
Will definitely be staying a night next time
Unique experience! Located in the jungle on a mountain you can really shut down and relax. The resort offer muay thai courses and yoga.
Beautyful place far off everything.very laid back and relaxed, 100% nature experience.the food is very nice and the staff and the owners are super friendly
