Takua Pa Fresh Market

Visited here on a day tour. Really un impressive. I guess good to see local life, but it smelt awful, couldn’t stay in more than 5 minutes.

ตลาดเล็กๆพอเหมาะกับเมืองเล็กๆ ขนาดประชากรน้อยๆ ไม่แออัดสะอาด สินค้าครบถ้วน ของสด ของแห้ง ขนมสด อาหารสด

ตลาดเก่าแก่ของเมืองตะกั่วป่า มีสินค้าอุปโภคบริโภคให้เลือกมากมาย ที่จอดรถอยู่ด้านข้าง

เป็นตลาดเล็กๆในชุมชนเมืองเก่าตะกั่วป่าใกล้ถนนสายวัฒนธรรม มีโรงแรมเก่าชื่อผดุง ตั้งอยู่ฝั่งตรงข้ามตลาด พ่อค้าแม่ขายใจดีทุกร้าน เป็นตลาดที่ใครมีพืชผักผลไม้อะไรที่บ้านก็ให้ผู้เฒ่าผู้แก่ในบ้านเอามาขายนั่งหยอกล้อกันไปจิบน้ำชากาแฟไปขายของไป หรือฝากขายสินค้ากันก็มี

The Takuapa Pa fresh market is located up one street from Culture Street at the far southern most end. Here you find a bustling local food market servicing the community. This place gets very busy at certain times of the day and parking can be a nightmare if you come by car.
Best is to visit sit here on motorbike but be sure to wear your helmet as they most always have traffic police here during the busy market hours. Also.where a shirt! Tourists driving around with no shirt is considered rude in this very traditional village and you may be fined or at very least be told off by the police.
This is fresh Market with the usual fare. Meats, veg, cooking supplies and of course street foods.
The town is very cool with its narrow streets and streets and Sino-Portuguese - Chinese - Thai fusion architecture.
If you want to escape the standard tourist locations and immerse yourself in authentic Thailand then this area is fantastic. About 40 minutes from Khao Lak depending the route you take. I would suggest coming here via the Pak Weep route as the road has much less traffic and winds through the beautiful foothills and country side.
