Riverside Guesthouse

Unfortunately one of the worst experience on our trip to Thailand. As we reached the attendent was busy with her cooking classes and then allotted us the rooms SHE THOUGHT we had booked online. The room were smelling like hell, god knows how did we survive! Then next day she reached us (in our rooms knocking on our doors constantly one after other exactly in the half hour when we came back from an exausting long day trip, because she had to go home as she was done with her cooking classes) and said she gave us other rooms then the ones we have booked and we would have to pay 1200 Bht extra per room and if in any case we are not willing to pay we have to leave the hotel immidiately no matter what. The only person we have met in Thailand during our trip that was soo rude and unfriendly, hights!

I definitely recommend the thai cooking class! Tip: choose the morning class and join apple on her way to the market, awesome experience.
I guess I will be back next year, because the area khao lak is so beautiful and worth another trip

Inexpensive guesthouse in the heart of Bang Niang. The owner, Apple is a gem of a lady. Very helpful. Suggest aircon rooms if you are new to Thailand.

Good location, inexpensive, well behaviour from staff, caring owner.
Room condition was not satisfactory, floor always wet, water leakage from tiles.

Came here first time 7.5 years ago, and must have been here at least 20 times after that. Clean, cheap rooms, very friendly owner (Apple), and right in the middle of Bang Niang. Highly recommended!

Whenever I stay in Khao Lak I always try to get a room at Riverside. It is popular so it is not always possible but am so happy when there's an air-conditioned room available for me. I find the place so relaxed yet it is close to many of the things I love in Khao Lak, especially the market and local restaurants.

The rooms are clean and very well maintained. They are also nicely decorated, it is more like a boutique guesthouse than a cheap place though the rates here are super reasonable.

I can not say things about Riverside without mentioning the owner. She is lovely. Always welcoming and always willing to help with great local advice. Where to visit, where to eat. I can even rent a car from her and get my laundry done too. This is real Thai hospitality, love it.

I have to write a good review for Riverside Guesthouse because I had such a nice time there. I was made to feel at home from the moment I arrived. The owner is kind and welcoming, she felt like a friend after a few minutes and could not do enough to add to my stay in Khao Lak. Plenty of local tips and where to get the best food.

The room I stayed in, considering the price was very nice. Modern decoration, clean and plenty of room. I was surprised it was not more expensive, the quality was great.

So thank you Khun Apple for such a wonderful stay at Riverside, if I do not make it back to Khao Lak I definitely recommend you to anyone I know who will visit.

The bathroom is in the same room with the bedroom and that makes it a bit stuffy and not very private. Also the shower head kept falling apart. Good value for money overall, the beach is within walking distance. Staff was very nice.

One of the best places to stay in Khao Lak. Clean, good price and one of the friendliest smiles from the owner apple you can emagine. Greetings sam from austria. See you again next year)

We already stayed twice at Riverside. The owner Apple and her family made our stay super comfortable and memorable. The rooms are big, clean and very good value for money. The breakfast, although not included is also reasonable priced and absolutely delicious. Try omlette or pancakes.

All in all we would stay here again any time! All the best to you and your family, Apple.

The lady was so lovely and helped us out with everything we wanted! When we booked a motorbike or room for many days, we even got a nice discount! The food and drinks are cheap and really tasty! We are travelling now for 3 months already and have been in many hostels, in japan and korea also, but this hostel was the best price-value and by far the friendliest staff of all!:) Would definitely come back here if I would visit Khao Lak again!
