Nang Thong Bay Resort

We had booked Nang Thong Bay Resort and had to cancel 2 yrs in a row, well we finally booked and stayed in a Beachfront Bungalow and absolutely loved it. (Our friends stayed in a Garden Bungalow and could still see the ocean and enjoyed it.) Our bed was large and really comfortable, great size shower and water pressure. Great size room and patio. The restaurant had great views and friendly staff but after travelling around Thailand for 4 weeks this was our rest period and craved some nice Western food, a bit more choice would have been awesome even just chips with plain gravy if you didn't want to go out. That's just a minor thing so no big deal. We are booking again for next year. As we loved Nang Thong Bay Resort so much.

Highly Recommended! Very clean and quiet. The small bungalows and the complex are manageable and cannot be compared to the mass tourism of the local hotel bunkers. The breakfast menu is à la carte and absolutely sufficient. The staff was very friendly and not at all intrusive. Overall thrilled. The price-performance ratio is absolutely right. The advance reservation by email worked wonderfully and you didn't have to provide any sensitive data in advance. The shuttle service from Phuket Airport also worked smoothly. Payment is made on the last day. Absolutely recommended for couples, families etc.

We stayed at the Nang Thong Bay Resort with our 1-year-old daughter in November 2022 and absolutely loved it!
Very well-kept bungalow, very nice area, very good pool, friendly staff. Everything was just right here. The location is very quiet but still very central with many restaurants and shops in a few minutes' walk. Especially important with a child (therefore without a scooter).
We also liked the beach. We were very excited and will definitely come back again when we are in khao lak again
Since we are already very experienced in Thailand and are always looking for small beautiful bungalows on the beach, we know what we are talking about.

We come to Khao Lak without making hotel reservation. We are so lucky to find this hotel from one of the Muslim seller nearby the hotel suggesting to stay here. They give us family room with 1 king size bed and 2 single bed. The bathroom equipped with bathtub and complete amenity. Room have 2 tv (at room with king bed and room with single bed) have internet tv (netflix, youtube). Wifi in room also provided. The staff is so helpful. He help us bring our stuff and take us to the room with the golf car (the room is not to far, but with alot of stuff can be quite difficult to walk). The beach is so near you can walk from your room. My kids had so much fun here, playing at the beach and the swimming pool. The price is so affordable. We did not take breakfast since the restaurant is not halal. Muslim can go outside and find breakfast even though there are not many Muslim seller. Overall we had so much fun staying for 1 night at Nangthong Bay Resort and surely will come again.

We have been here 4 times already. Excellent combination of price and quality!
1-2 line bungalows - the best choice on the territory

Unfortunately my stay here was a mixed bag. On the positive side, the resort is well placed right on the beach and a very short walk to the main street. Watching the sunsets from the beach was wonderful. The grounds are attractive and although I was not staying in one of the bungalows, my room in the main block across a small street was very close. The room was very spacious with a nice outdoor seating area but the bathroom looking a little tired.
What spoilt my stay and the reason I would NOT come back is that I booked this hotel to spend some time on the beach after my 3 months travelling. Unfortunately the majority of the clientele were the kind that marked their territory (sunbeds and shade) with personal effects etc that were never removed and most days there were many that were not used or only used for a very short time. When I tried to take a small side table one day that I didn’t think was being used (although it had a small stone on it) I was screamed at by an older (German) woman. In 6 days I was not able to get a bed with umbrella despite some days arriving at the beach area at 8am and with very few people there. Despite asking the (very smiley and nice staff) to help, they just allow the situation to continue. My overall view is that if you are the kind of person that will happily mark out your territory in this way, you will have a wonderful stay and in many ways feel like you have an exclusive and private beach. If not, you may feel frustrated that some people think it’s it’s ok to do this (and hot with lack of shade). It’s a shame the hotel don’t do something about this as I noticed other reviews mentioning the same problem.

Man sitzt direkte am Wasser super Atmosphäre Personal super freundlich und bemüht (wie ja wohl überall in TH)
Essen auch sehr gut und schmackhaft es wird auf jeden Wunsch eingegangen ️

If you are thinking of eating at this overpriced sub standard restaurant.dont bother! Not only was the service bad, the drinks were expensive and the food was terrible. How can you get BBQ chicken wrong? Deep fry it and "say" it was barbecued.the taste was disgusting.and even my friend would not eat it.and she eats everything! Take wide steps away from this place. Even during low season i would expect someone to say "is there anything wrong with the meal? " we were the only ones there.i just paid and left quickly!
