Moracea by Khao Lak Resort

I recommend you Moracea by Khao Lak Resort if you are ever thinking of going out to Similan islands or Surin islands! Only 15 mins from the piers! And 1: 30 hours drive from Phuket international airport. This resort gave an outstanding hospitality for their 5 stars service, cleanliness, and comfort!

Nong Pop at the restaurant was so energetic throughout the breakfast service making sure all tables were cleaned. Breakfast options are catered to foreigners more than Thai people.

They have a little service car to pick you up and drop off at your bungalow. To be oceanfront is truly the best option! I loved that there were only 2 babies and 2 kids out of the whole resort. It made the vacation lesser noise. Which is nice.

Also, please remember to tip the team and the fire show guys in cash, it gets to them sooner and faster:)

- Room size/equipment is very good (Alamanda pool villa). The room has a shower, bathtub, a large bed and a separate sofa area.
- Partly in need of renovation and unfortunately a bit worn out. Basically, routine cleaning was carried out daily, but a really thorough basic cleaning should also be done, for example cleaning the door and walls in the toilet. There were strange dirt near the door that I cleaned up myself.
- Private pool (6m*3m) was great and had two jets
- Outside there are two loungers and a sofa with a table (under a fixed pavilion). We were able to sit outside in the sun during the day and until late in the evening.
- Maids and staff very friendly and attentive
- Room service worked well even at night
- Good breakfast buffet with delicious food for every taste, but too few coffee machines. You had to wait in line for 3-5 minutes each time because the two machines are also very slow. A third machine was standing around switched off.
- Quiet location, beautiful beach that is cleaned
- Within walking distance of many restaurants, supermarkets and laundry service. There are real sidewalks and street lights. Taxis are always in front of the hotel (but we only used them once).
- We spent our honeymoon there and mentioned this when booking directly via the hotel website (which is certainly the most advantageous thing for the hotel). We were hoping for a little attention, e.g. A bottle of sparkling wine as a small welcome gift. We've had something like this in other 5-star hotels without any honey moon. Unfortunately, that wasn't available in the Moracea. On the first day there were only these towels folded into swans (which you always get anyway) and an additional message saying "happy honeymoon". That was nice, but to be honest we expected a little more. A pity.
- It was also positive that we were allowed to check in a few hours earlier for free (10.30 am I think) and even when we didn't have our flight until the evening on the last day, we were allowed to stay in the room until 4 pm for a few hundred BHT (it was really cheap). Remain. We were very happy about that.
- Free water was available every day. The minibar is free and is refilled daily with soft drinks, peanuts and chips. I think there should also be alcohol in a minibar (not free of course).

Overall a very nice holiday - we recommend the hotel.

We also cannot understand the reviews. The facility is getting old and appears unkempt. The bungalows on the beach are good, but there are rooms in between, I don't want to live like that. We had a room upstairs in the last row, which was clean but noisy. Especially since other vacationers don't show any consideration. The pool had a waterfall that was so loud that you could hardly hear your own words on the balcony. The refrigerator switches on at regular intervals at night. You can save yourself the advice of please do not reserve loungers if you accept the promotions. It's a shame there aren't enough loungers, but if they are covered with towels all day long. Oh well. The staff is either very friendly or they don't even notice you. It wasn't possible for anyone to check out later, which is a shame when there is no solution where you can stay if it suddenly starts pouring rain. The only really nice thing was the opportunity to have breakfast right on the beach. Unfortunately, this does not compensate for the other points. The 5 star category should urgently be revised. I wouldn't want to spend another vacation here. Typical tourist hotel where sun, food and drink are the most important part of a holiday.

Just outside the town, beautifully situated in the countryside. Overall, very quiet facility. Nice service, good breakfast buffet. Own beach.

Very well maintained facility. Great food - but prices quite high. The facility is not for people who have difficulty walking. It's quite mountainous. It takes almost an hour to walk along the beach to the market. Taxi costs 200 baht. It's raining a lot at the moment.
We'll be back.

The hotel is on a hill, but you shouldn't be afraid of stairs.
If necessary, you can also be driven anywhere by the hotel's own chauffeur service.

Beautiful facility! Very beautiful and clean beach with great “photo rocks” and an impressive jungle hotel complex.
Breakfast good, service and staff very accommodating. There are a little few places to lie down when there is a fight for the best places when the weather is ideal and there is good occupancy.

Rooms are actually nice, but a bit too noisy if you share one with neighbors. It depends on the category.

Didn't have our bags brought to room. Had to do it ourselves carrying them.

Screwed around with hotel taxi and left on side of road nowhere near our destination. Called hotel and they wasted 30 mins trying to get previous driver when they are literally 5 mins by car from us, they were just too cheap to get the first and quickest taxi as a solution for their paying guests (a real 5 star hotel actually cares about guests and would apologise later and give compensation or something free). Nothing from hotel about this incident.

Waiters arguing when we told them about cocktails not having enough liquid.

We are staying for 7 days paying the hotel and they have not impressed us. Food is awful.

Thailand has great food but not here. Green curry is 300 baht. That's insane. Down the road same thing is 100 baht. Cocktails are 280. Most bars around area do it for 120. They are really overpriced.

We are at the hotel now. Never regretted choosing this hotel!
Photos of the hotel do not reflect its real beauty! It is much more beautiful here than you can see on the Internet.
Just bewitching views, to say that it is buried in the jungle is to say nothing, but at the same time everything is as well-groomed and clean as possible, the staff works from morning to evening to keep the territory in perfect condition!
In general, we can safely advise this hotel, especially accommodation in a bungalow!
But at the same time, you need to clearly understand where you are going, this is not Patong and not even just Phuket, it’s a calm, very relaxing holiday! Especially during the rainy season.
The breakfasts are quite good, the juices are not natural, the coffee is tasteless, otherwise everything is at a good level!
Some minor flaws are naturally present, but this is just nonsense compared to the pluses of the hotel.
Everything is calm and boring in Khao Lak, if you are very active tourists, then most likely you will get bored here after some time.
But this hotel is definitely worth a visit!

Wirklich tolles Hotel mit Blick ins Grün (war ca. In der Mitte der Anlage). Den Pool konnte man oft auch mal ganz allein nutzen und es gab immer ein Plätzchen für Ruhe. Der Strand ist direkt am Hotel und sehr weitläufig (leider durfte man während meines Aufenthaltes nicht baden). Hier lässt sich der Sonnenuntergang richtig toll beobachten.
Ich habe das Zimmer allein genutzt und dadurch richtig viel Platz gehabt. Das Personal (Reinigung, Restaurant, Rezeption) waren immer sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.
Ich habe mehrere Male in dem Restaurant des Hotels gegessen und war immer zufrieden.
Beim nächsten Aufenthalt komme ich bestimmt wieder:)

Das Hotel Moracea Khao lak ist ein Traumhotel was sich wirklich lohnt.
Das Personal ist sehr nett, die Putzkräfte erledigen ihre Arbeit jeden Tag und hinterlassen im Zimmer sehr schöne geflochtene Tücher in Form von Tieren.
Das Meer ist in der Nebensaison wellig aber warm. Die Pool‘s sind kühl und es gibt sogar mehrere Jacusis. Das Wetter ist in der Nebensaison unkontrollierbar…

Ein kleiner Tipp von unserer Seite ist es, nicht umbedingt Vollpension zu buchen, Abends gibt es sehr schöne kleine Restaurants in der Nähe, da kann man auch super essen. Das Essen im Hotel schmeckt aber auch hervorragend und die Aussicht ist auch der Hammer.

Tipp: wer ein günstiges Taxi in der Umgebung von Moracea braucht kann gerne privat schreiben ;)

This place has so much class. The rooms are designed so beautifully. I am allergic to mold and many five star hotels in this region have a problem with mold in the rooms. But our room in Moracea was airy and fresh smelling. The service was great and the food delicious.

6 stars! Stayed at the Hibiscus room in September 2019. Perfect in all aspects! Extremely helpful staff, spotlessly clean rooms, amazing pools, built literally on the beach. Oh and their breakfast is the best we've had at any hotel! Super recommend! Don't even think before booking here.

Beautiful peaceful resort, right on an amazing swimming beach. Spacious clean rooms, friendly staff, good value for money in my opinion. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful time at Moracea by Khao Lak. My wife and I went there for our anniversary. Unfortunately, I was clipped by a car while walking in town (not at Moracea) and had to spend most of my time there on crutches. The staff was amazing. They tried to do everything possible to make our stay enjoyable. They constantly checked in on me and it seemed like every staff member knew about what happened and really went out of their way to make my getting around easier.

The property is beautiful. We had a bungalow with a private pool and it was absolute magical. The rooms were large and well appointed. The exercise room (which I got to use a couple of times before the accident) was large and well equipped. The property has a wonderful beach with great sunset views.

The restaurant and drinks were very good.

But above all, the staff was super kind and attentive.

Wonderful place, you can see the uploaded photos to just to have a small idea what kind of view you are getting from the villa balcony, attentive and caring staffs, great facilities are just a part which makes this resort a perfect place to relax without a worry whether it is with family, friends or loved ones. So many good restaurants within reach ao you wont be short of food choices. Definitely returning sooner than later.
