Koh Yao Yai Village

The bungalows are great, ideal for switching off and simply enjoying peace and quiet. The breakfast was heavenly, the best I've ever had in Thailand, lots of choice and just fantastic quality. The location is good, the employees were always polite. The only thing that bothered me and that's why I deducted a star. When we wrote to the accommodation asking if they could pick us up from the port, they gave a stupid answer that could have been saved. Normally the hotels ask in advance whether they can help us with the transfer, here we had to ask ourselves and then the answer came that we should have informed at least 3 days in advance and transferred the money (400 baht) beforehand. So come on people, why should you transfer it with fees and etc. When you can settle it locally. So we arrived at the port and took a simple taxi because it was only 10 minutes to the hotel. Paid 300 baht and everything was uncomplicated. I think with such an expensive hotel you can expect courtesy.

Ko Yai Yai Village resort ist amazing and we would definitely stay here again when being on Ko Yao Yai. The rooms/ bungalows are very nicely furnished. It has a nice big terrace with a chair and bed, as well as a fridge. The bedroom is pretty big. The bathroom is half outdoor with a nice big shower. The bungalows are in the middle of the jungle and you here the insects and animals at night.
The pool area is very big with amazing view on the sea. It has a great pool bar and there are enough beds for everyone. The breakfast buffet is great - fresh fruits, bread, coffee and tea, different kind of fresh eggs etc etc.
The only downside were the prices in the pool restaurant for bar and Food. It was almost ok German level (ca. 4€ a beer, 7€ a cocktail).
But overall the hotel was amazing and we would definitely come back!

Great hotel in terms of decor location and service but the food including the breakfast which was included or dinner was not good at all compared to other hotels I've been to in Thailand

Lovely spot, we saw a lot of wildlife around, including giant monitor lizards and thousands of cute little crabs.

A great hotel in ko yao yai. The staff is amazing, rooms are in the jungle and are very comfortable. Near the hotel there is a nice restaurant, a place for massage and a small supermarket. We did a tour in the island (very beautiful island) and a tour to hond island. Both we resreved with Yob just outside of the hotel you turn right and you can meet him there)

This hotel has definitely seen better times. While the pool and the view on the sea are still amazing everything else is slightly dirty and shabby.

We booked the deluxe villa and stayed for 3 nights. We would not do that again for this price. The room was dark, slightly dirty and smelled bad and the air conditioning had to be fixed by our request. There were holes and stains on the outside sofa.

The hotel personal is very kind and tries its best to make up for the run down situation of the houses and pool area but they can only do so much.

PS: if you want a place at the pool you should already bring your towels to the breakfast and place them on the deck chairs at the pool. At least that’s what everyone did while we were there, absolutely impossible to get a place to lie down at the pool otherwise, this was the most frustrating thing at our stay.

For this price - never again.

Preis Leistungs Verhältnis ist schlecht
Unser Bungallow war alt und die Dusche renovierungsbedürftig. Auch eine Grundreinigung wäre mal nötig.
Am pool war alles stark abgenutzt. Jedes 1500bath Hotel hat schönere Zimmer und Inventar.
Auch sind Getränke und Massagen total überteuert.
Ausserhalb des Hotels gibts das alles für weniger als die Hälfte.

We have just come home from a fantastic family holiday here, the staff were incredibly friendly and nothing was too much, especially Anthony at the bach bar and Ken from reception. The hotel was spotlessly clean and the food both excellent and reasonably priced. We will return for sure

The resort is very natural and beautiful, overall peaceful. Their restaurant serves local dishes and it’s also nice. The downside is the very challenging communication, we tried to contact them before our trip to ask for questions related to activities and transfer and it was really a pain, requiring a multitude of emails and phone calls only to get very simple things sorted out, and at the end they weren’t. Other than that, it’s was a nice experience

We had a great time there.
Service was excellent.
Room is so exotic.
Peaceful staying.

If you love nature and being on a quite lonely laid back island with nothing much to do, still want some luxury, this is the place for you. Right know (march 22) the resort is still quite deserted with only a few visitors. Pool and breakfast very good.

For us it was a bit too quite and too much nature. It’s hard to sleep through with a lot of loud wildlife going around and in the villas with oceanview (which are undoubtedly beautiful) you have so many cracks everywhere that welcome insects, it’s a constant issue to avoid bites. Also we had an issue with (i guess) the pipes, as the whole Villa was smelling quite bad in the evening and night. Summed up for us and the price-value-ratio it was a bit too stressful (noise, smells, bites) and too quite (island, resort right now).

A good quality stay with excellent service from the staff. The resort is about 25 mins drive from each of the two piers at the north of the island and is on a peaceful stretch of coastline that enjoys great sunrises and views of the islands opposite. There is a large pool wrapped around a bar and restaurant and a beachside barbecue for evening dining. We opted for the more expensive beachfront villa, and felt it was worth it to be able enjoy the views all day round. The quality of the rooms and furnishings was to a high standard, and as would be expected, the bed was really comfortable… the hotel offers bikes, kayaks, and paddle boards from its activity centre, and there are loads of trips that can be arranged as well. There’s nothing in the way of shops in walking distance, but if you do want to keep your bar bill down there’s a little cafe at the top of the service road where drinks are about half the price of the resort. I did get some nasty insect bites, but I’m rather prone to them and get an allergic reaction… didn’t see other guests with the same problem… but if you are susceptible then bring plenty of spray.

Wonderful place. Peace and quiet. Perfect for holiday hideaway. The staff is great. The room is beautiful and clean. The food is amazing. Would recommend this place to all my friends. Definitely be coming back.

Staying during covid, the hotel charges high season rates with basically zero service! No staff around, have to wait more then 1 hour to get dinner or lunch.

This is totally a get away place from the big city and experience an islands vibe. Also, the sea view is superb:)
