Casacool Hotel Khoalak

Older, retired single traveler from the USA in Khao Lak for 2 weeks. Good location for shopping, eating, beaches and massages. Good value for the money, but the true value here is the staff and their willingness to help in any way possible. Breakfast is an amazing assortment of fruit, eggs, breads and yogurt with muesli. Big, clean, comfortable rooms with good WiFi (a bit on the dark side for us older travelers but when I mentioned this the staff provided an additional lamp for a dark corner). A large comfortable bed, but the chairs could use some felt pad sliders to prevent the sound of moving chairs above and below rooms. Free laundry provided which is helpful for longer stays. A lot of stairs so if mobility issues are a problem this might not be the place for you. Daily cleaning and towels. Awesome experience and I would do it again

I stay there for 3 nights and the staff there is very very friendly. They help in every situation and it’s doesn’t matter how far you need to drive. They give you the option that they drive you to the place. I had a 3 hours trip with the owner of the house, because I needed an extension of my visa. And she helps me in every step. Also all of them take care of the guests. There is every guest a special guest. When I will be back one time in Khao Lak, then I will for sure book this hotel again. The location is also very good. Near the Bang Niang Market, 1,9 km from a gym and notes far from the beach. Excellent accommodation.

Kia is an extraordinary host. She will find solutions for you to carry out all your projects (snorkeling, beach, hiking).
The hotel is rustic but the essentials are there.

I can attest that Kai is the loveliest and most welcoming host and works super hard on her business and providing a top notch service. After business being bad throughout the pandemic, Kai said she was so happy to be busy again and it’s clear from the energy in the hotel and the warmth and happiness that radiates from her. She’s also a font of all local knowledge and we asked her recommendations and advice a number of times.

The location of the hotel is perfect. The square it’s located on has a lovely buzz and we enjoyed drinks and food there on a few occasions. If I was travelling on my own then I would feel so safe here and not too isolated.

Our room was beautiful - sparkly clean and equipped with everything we needed for our stay. We moved from our 2nd floor room to a 1st floor room halfway through our stay and loved the double aspect/balconies. One balcony had a beautiful view of the surrounding greenery - the night time and morning sounds were very soothing.

Breakfast was delicious; eggs any way (or muesli, yogurt & fruit) and then help yourself to toast and, at times, pastries. Once you finish, Kai then brings out the most generous assortment of fresh fruit. The perfect way to set yourself up for the day.

On top of all this, Kai also offers a free laundry service for her guests. She’s literally superwoman!

I hope Kai sees all her amazing reviews and knows that her, and her team’s, hard work is so appreciated.

Suffice to say, we would stay back here in a heartbeat and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to friends and family.

Kai, who runs Casa Cool, is one of the kindest and warmest people we have ever met. We were down with a heatstroke during our stay (having had too much fun in Phuket previously) and Kai went out of her way to be there for us. Not only did she set up an appointment with a doctor, she drove us to and from the appointment as well. Given the states we were in, this was really appreciated. She always saw to it that we were heartily fed and had laundered clothes. She gave us suggestions for places to visit and also let us use a scooty to reach them. She coordinated with the bus driver for our onward journey, and even gave us snacks for the ride! Before coming to Khao Lak, we had read in another review that someone felt she was very motherly.we definitely second that having seen how much she looked after us while we were there.

She refused to take any extra payment from our side when we wanted to express our gratitude for all that she did for us.

She is one of those people who inspires you to be better person! Kai, we hope our paths cross again!:)

Absolutely amazing hotel. The sisters who own it are so friendly and welcoming, we were greeted with fruit and drinks on arrival. The room was great, bed comfy and an amazing breakfast, and we were offered free laundry, beach towel to borrow and lift to the beach! Wish we were staying for longer!

Definitiv teurer, als die umliegenden Hotels/Hotels und ein wenig in die Jahre gekommen, aber die Gastfreundschaft und der rundum Service (kostenlose Waschmaschinen, kostenloses Shuttle zu den umliegenden Stränden und ein phänomenales Frühstück mit frischem Obst und frisch gepresstem Ananassaft, etc.pp.) relativieren den Preis ganz schnell.

Great little hotel in the heart of Bang Niang. Close to everything. Amazing beds, internet TV, quiet air con and great breakfast included. Top notch for few day travelers or even those who want to save money, live in comfort and explore khaolak.

The best hospitality I’ve ever had in my life! The owner is incredibly nice and helpful. Thanks to her, my stay was completed. Their breakfast is super! It’s the #1 hotel that I want to go back if I can choose!

Kai the owner cannot do enough for you. Advice, and trips out and will not accept any payment. The rooms have air conditioning, cleaned everyday fresh towels, free bottled water and 2 cokes supplied. Highly recommend!

Outstanding hotel! Best sleep I had in South-East Asia - super comfy bed, quiet air con. The breakfast is delicious, and the owner, Kai, is generous and kind, and helped me find everything I needed. You'd be mad to stay anywhere else!

Pre-booked and confirmed room not available on arrival. Only one chance to make a first impression. Bad.

We only stayed for one night.
Pro: very friendly staff, very good breakfast, good to reach also by public transportation (bus stops at the 7-eleven close by)
Con: during our stay only one person spoke English. More than hard communication with the other two.
Neutral: laundry service (costs extra), good to find with the colorful house, room was clean in gerneral but some hair in the bath room
