Where to start? These villas are absolute luxury. My husband and I were staying just down the beach in a 5* hotel and came across Villas de Lante on a beach walk. I texted the number on the website and within perhaps an hour we were viewing the property, Venus (service manager) arranged this all swiftly and we soon become great WhatsApp friends. To say Venus made this process easy is an understatement!
One look at the Horizon Villa and we booked immediately.
The villa itself is just beautiful, tonnes of clever storage, luxurious finish and exquisite furnishings, the most comfortable large bed with pillows (that I need to buy for my own home). The full kitchen was great, kettle toaster, Nespresso machine, oven and hobs and a very large fridge freezer.

This is right next to the beach, and has it’s own private pool right by the beach, the pool has a jacuzzi area.
There is a massage place 1 minutes walk from the villa, which I frequented daily, and burger joint and along the beach several top notch places for Cocktails and food.

The location of the villa means you can lay in bed and watch the sunset, if you wish. Just magical!

The housekeeper Rattiya. Went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible, her attention to detail was simply perfect, she’s speaks English and we soon became fast friends and her cheerful nature was so endearing. She even ran a few errands for us, laundry, emergency beers etc, she also bought us gifts of lovely snacks and porridge! The villa was cleaned top to bottom daily, Rattiya even did our washing up which we were not expecting. I simply love Rattiya and boy does she work hard. She does not stop sweeping, cleaning and making the property look immaculate.
Kajornsak, the very diligent security guard was so professional, we felt so well guarded by him, the gate was open the moment he heard our moped coming down the road, always removed his hat and gave us a salute! Again Kajornsak took his role very seriously. We slept so soundly knowing he was in his office each night.

So, my advice would be STAY here if you get the chance, I’ve traveled the world and stayed in many fancy hotels, but these villas beat them all hands down. If I could give this 10 starts I would!

I fell in love with Koh Lanta as we boarded the car boat (roll-on/roll-off boat). The landscape of this island was of luscious green, and merely had a sprinkle of local homes along their well-developed main road. Remarkably calmer than its main provincial tourist town we came from, Krabi, Lanta was our last spot to fully relax from the heavy trip before heading back to Bangkok.

As we arrived at Villas de Lanta, we were greeted by their official housekeeper, Rom, who happily welcomed us in and made us feel like we were stepping into our own vacation home. The villa itself is very new, designed in a lovely modern beach home aesthetic, and is equipped with everything you might need. I especially loved the landscaping of the garden, for the villa was surrounded by colorful flowers and shrubs that were beautifully maintained.
Houses line in a U formation, allowing each resident to easily see the calm beach we had direct access to. To which we used immensely — after all, strolling along the soft waves and having the sunset is the most idyllic thing you could possibly experience.

If the abundant greenery wasn’t enough, this large beach is seemingly untouched, with wonderful soft sand. Almost was like Hua Hin beach without all the buildings and people. Not that the beach was empty — there were a handful of people chilling along its coast, making it feel very calm, yet safe.

Lanta is beautiful — a highly underrated island full of great people, great food, and untouched nature. The best way to enjoy it is to stay at this villa, for it might just be the only one fully private, next to beach, and perfectly feels like home.
