Beautiful nature hotel with very friendly staff. We spent 2 nights here and were very happy that we stayed further out as there was so much going on in Koh Phi Phi. The private beach is great! There is also a free shuttle on arrival and departure. The food in the restaurant was great too. Absolutely clear recommendation!)

Beautiful rooms, really unique and cool, very spacious, insanely beautiful views.

Staff were friendly enough, my only suggestion would be having a large board near reception with all activities/day trips/taxi boats etc you offer with prices so guests know what you offer, as we found it kinda difficult to get this information. One trip we got a quote for from the staff was also 20% higher than what you can book it for from anyone else at Tonsai dock.

Location is nice, the beach is really nice & snorkeling is okayish. Long beach super close if you want a larger beach.

40 min walk to tonsai pier or a 200 boat (Viking only offer taxi boats if you go when they want you to, not as and when you wanna go) and then they wouldn’t let us book the taxi boat back they told us to just find a boat there when we wanna come back and pay someone else.

Food in the restaurant was average, kinda standard for resorts like this (from our experience anyway).

Overall really lovely stay and would stay again for a relaxing beach/island stay. Don’t take my negative comments as the entire place is negative as it’s really not, I just feel it’s helpful for the owner to know what to improve on for future guests (food being the main issue).

Very nice and well thought-out rooms/units with hammock and terrace. The apartments are in the middle of the jungle and right in front of the beach. Very beautiful surroundings and everything your heart desires.

We were picked up from the pier and taken to the hotel. We were greeted politely and our suitcases were brought into the room. We had a large room.

Superb hotel, quietly located a little away from the city in the heart of the forest, bordering the beach. The hotel staff is very caring

Great place, far enough away from the town that you can get some private beaches and privacy but close enough that it’s a short 20 minute or so walk to get to town. The room was clean and comfortable and cleaned daily but too small for much space for our luggage. Food was pretty good at the restaurant and staff were super helpful. The three private beaches you have access to is the highlight and I was able to chill and get some work done on the hammock.

For me is a 5 Star place. Dont know what People needs to give a 5 star. Such a wonderful place to stay and to visit the Islands. For parte Ton Sai 20 min walking, a lovely walk trough the forest passing so nice small and paceful beaches

Quiet place in the jungle.
40 minutes on a narrow path through the jungle, sometimes along the coast, slowly walking to the pier. And at low tide, you can go all the way along the sand along the coast. There is a free shuttle service from the hotel, but according to the schedule. The food is delicious, inexpensive, but flies can swim.
Our bungalow was dark and damp. Sometimes the light went out, but for a very short period. A lantern is provided in the bungalow for this case. And a cool hammock on the veranda.

After reading the positive reviews I was looking forward to stay here and spend more money on hotels I was used to do. Unfortunately it was definitely not worth the money. To sum up:
Path to rooms were very dangerous
Wild and extremely noisy house cats around the restaurant and rooms
No English speaking staff
Expensive food with poor taste. Do not order the burgers: fried in same oil as fish and is extremely tooth breaking hard
All day loud longtail boats crossing the beach. No very destressing.

Advice: skip Phi Phi, the island is way too expensive, way to crowdy and full of scammers.

Construction materials lying around. No signage to guide you along walkways (except for the start of a walkway) so good luck finding your room amongst the mazes, especially in the dark when you can't see the small writing on the side. Leaking roof. Noisy. If you dare pay by card, surcharges will be added to everything. Prices in the menu is an estimation. They let someone else book in on my rate and room, then insisted I pay the higher rate of a different room. On the plus side, warm water (outside shower), comfortable bed and wifi.

Before posting this I reached out to the Viking via email to explain my experience. Their lack of response shows how little they care about quality of service. While the huts are absolutely beautiful the service sucks. Upon checking in no one explained to us the taxi boats, how the tide affects these, and that there was a path we could walk to get to town. Instead of a guest directory they handed us a quarter size piece of paper with super basic details. We had no idea our hut came with free breakfast until we saw vouchers sitting in our room 3 days in. When they cleaned the room they did not restock our fridge. I even asked the front desk to restock it and they did not. I walked past 2 rusty nails sticking out of one of the walkway ropes every day (very dangerous). If I notice it than that means staff walks by it every day and does nothing. The older massage therapist with short hair clearly did not care and it was by far the worst Thai massage I had in Thailand. If you are not athletic do not stay here as you will have to walk to town often. I could spend the same amount of money and get far better service elsewhere.

This is such a nice place! The magic starts when you are picked up at the harbour and taken to the hotel by a water taxi (included in price). The hotel has a very nice forest atmosphere. You almost cannot see it from the waterside, as it's hidden in the trees. The bungalows are comfy and beautiful. The staff is nice, consisting almost only of young Thai men, who are cheerful and smiling. They clean the bungalows everyday and are there to help with your luggage etc. Every evening there's a free tasting of Thai food which is really good. The food at the restaurant is also very nice. The only thing I don't recommend is grilled fish. It wasn't very fresh, no herbs were used, it didn't have taste and was quite hard. If you travel with small children it might be problematic, as the path leading to the city is hard for tiny wheels and there are a lot of stairs. There was no wardrobe in our bungalow so we had to keep things under the bed. The balconies had a very comfy and beautiful hammock that i loved, but it lacked space to seat with my friends and play cards (there was a tiny table but it was cramped behind the hammock). Apart from that a very nice place and it deserves the 5 stars, even though a few tiny things to be fixed.

Pros:
• Secluded spot with private, pristine beach. Perfect!
• exotic wooden hut with fan, which is surprisingly enough, not hot at all.
• the food (compare to others around the center of the island) is actually pretty decent.

Cons:
• you'll be exhausted if u tried to reach this place on foot, especially with luggage etc.
• some part of the wood are been eaten by termites
