Slacklines Hostel reviews
14Great hostel! Super nice owners, great chill out area. Can't wait to come back. Location is also great, regardless, you will need a scooter. You can hire it from the hostel (if they have any left) otherwise they are more then happy to drive you down the road to rent one.
Cheap as chips and you get what you pay for. Very hippy and relaxed vibe with english staff who are very helpful. It is slightly out of the way so i would recommend coming if you have transport. The staff are able to sort you out with hire mopeds too. The bar is cheap and has a good vibe to it all day. Very friendly guests during my stay. Would recommend to a slightly adventurous friend.
This place is the best hostel I’ve ever been to. Jon and Lea are the most fantastic hosts any traveller could ask for. Not only do they take care of you and go above and beyond for their guests, they become your friends. Cheap drinks and lots of activities with a great social area so you meet lots of a friends and get the true hostel experience. This place is 10/10 and if you don’t stay here you’re missing out on the best time. I would have stayed forever if I could.
Great hostel, very friendly and helpful owner. The beds are very comfortable and I enjoyed sleeping in the nature environment. It was so nice we extended our stay.
Booked two nights here and stayed for 2 weeks. Owner was the coolest and friendliest, always helpful. Great breakfast, hostel community, cute dogs. Bungalow was comfortable and clean. Absolutely recommend
My boyfriend and I stayed here for ages because we were so charmed by Koh Lanta, Slacklines, and John (the owner). Two super sweet dogs and a gaggle of chickens roam the grounds. There’s a nice little bar and socializing area. Free water, tea, coffee, and stories from John. Weekly beachside party with ride service. Most of all we met amazing people during our stay, slacklines draws a fun, chill, interesting and diverse set of guests so you are bound to make friends if you’re open to it. We’ll certainly be back if we ever return to Thailand.
Jon is very kind and easygoing. He runs his business well.
We were the first people to arrive apparently after lockdown lifted. When we arrived, everyone was so welcoming and happy to see us. We stayed in a cute and basic bungalow for the whole trip after originally booking for only 2 nights. We had our motorcycle so transport wasn't an issue because the hostel is remote. He even searched for some expensive items I left behind and shipped them to me! I hope everyone has as a wonderful experience as I did. If I ever go to Lanta again I'd stay here again.
Really nice staff, off grid feeling for relaxation, great location with much to do nearby! Overall a great experience.
Perfect place to stay in Koh Lanta.
John, the owner, made his dream come true and creates a beautiful place on the island. Definitely a must-see in Koh Lanta.
Nice place with very friendly owner.a lot of slacklines and a pool and a treeplattform.the bungalows are simple but clean.you will need a scooter when you stay here.the area is between 2 roads it could be loud im the night (passing cars and scooter).
We stayed at a lot of hostels in Koh Lanta, most of which were run by friendly Thai people. Those hostels were of a comparable or lower prices to slack lines, with clean bathrooms and rooms. This hostel, on the other hand, is run by a pretty rude English guy, who advertises a pool which is in reality a dark yellow cesspool. The bugs here are the worst I’ve experienced on the island, and the dorms are provided with bug nets with holes in them. It appeared that we weren’t “cool” enough to be treated with respect by the owner of this establishment. Oh and the shower may or may not work, and if you pay for the laundry service don’t be surprised if they lose your clothes and then laugh at you for asking where your clothes are. I’d recommend that you spend your money at one of the Thai-run hostels which have less crowded dorms, are cleaner and better cooled, and run by friendly staff! Hate to leave such a negative review, but I’ve never had such a weird hostel experience.
From the moment I arrived I felt at home. The welcome from the team and Jon, the welcome from the other guests, it instantly felt like family. So chilled, out of the main hubbub but only 5 min drive away from the beach and bars. Next door you can hire a bike, book a day trip and organize transport to/from the Island. I came as a solo traveler and stayed in one of the bungalows a few nights then moved to the dorm both were great to stay in. I only booked for one night but stayed 5, if I wasn't working I would have stayed longer and I'll definitely be back, I really wouldn't stay anywhere else xx
Amazing place, awesome owner, staff and vibe, rent a scooter from Tom next door and explore the island! Would love to return and become the next big slackliner/flop into the poooool:)
