Same Same But Different Restaurant

Excellent food! The fried chicken with cashew nuts was delicious.best we’ve had! The staff are really friendly and the service is quick. The restaurant itself is stunning right on the beach with a really relaxed vibe. Best Thai food we’ve had on the island. Can’t recommend this place enough

I went for drinks mostly, the beach is wonderful - no stones, clean sandy beach.
And the cafe is organically adding something to the picture.
The staff is very friendly as well.

Cafe right on the beach with beautiful views of Kantiang Bay. Limited menu, we have only had breakfast here of pancakes, fruit and ice teas. All delicious and good price for the location. Very relaxing place to spend your time.

We came from Texas & a fellow traveler recommended the steamed squid. It was absolutely fabulous’

We've been staying at the pimalai for a week and on our last day we've experienced the best food yet here at same same but different.

Literally mind blowingly good. Penang and mussaman will take you to another planet with your feet in the sand and the sounds of the waves in the background.

Short walk on the beach from the Pimalai. Flavorful Thai dishes, we loved everything but particularly the morning glory greens, massam curry and Tom Lam soup. Coconut pancake and fried bananas for dessert were treats. Great service, amazing value. We'd come back. (And we did!)

We taste the fish at 18: 30 after sunset when it’s not people (early dinner) and the pad Thai!

Personal freundlich, schnell.
Bier für mich etwas zu warm, Pad Thai sehr gut wie auch woanders, aber man zahlt natürlich bei 180 baht die Lage dazu.

Wir haben hier nur durch Zufall gehalten, es ist etwas versteckt. Ein schönes Restaurant am Strand, sehr ruhig mit üblichen Preisen für die Getränke. Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr nett und auf Zack.

11 Oct '22. Still appears closed. There was a local lady there (I think she lives there), who didn't speak any English, so I was unable to find out if it will reopen for high season.

Super Restaurant, direkt am Meer. Essen war jedes Mal super lecker, genauso wie die Shakes. Das leckere Essen wird mir und meiner Partnerin noch lange in Erinnerung bleiben:)

Unfortunately 2/3 of the menu is unavailable right now. No curry, no noodle, no beef. Only starters and chicken/seafood dishes. Food available was okay-ish. Chicken tastet like a pack of Doritos due to too much msg. I like the taste, but the cook went a bit overboard on that one.

The food is so average, maybe worse than that.

I agree that the location is really nice though. I’d suggest stopping for a drink, just don’t bother ordering anything to eat.

It is the same but different and better. Delicious food and drinks, fantastic cocktails and chill vibe. Put it on your to do list when you are in Ko Lanta

Cooles und gemütliches Restaurant direkt am Strand. Der Mango-Shake und das Kokosnuss-Lassi waren super-lecker - und das Bier schön kalt ;-)
Als Snacks probierten wir French Fries, Frühlingsrollen und Knoblauchbrot. Alles hat gut geschmeckt, war aber kein Highlight. Die Preise sind generell hoch, was der Lage geschuldet ist.

Super cool location. Right on the beach, very cozy and nicely designed beach vibe-layed-back restaurant. But. The food here when we ate here (we tried it 3 times) was really poor. From the 10 dished we tried, only the.stir fried vegetables were okay. The rest was just bad. Staff was okay, less attentive and friendly than other places in the area.
All in all good place to have a few drinks and walk on the beach, but would not recommend to eat here.
