Railay Beach reviews
11I wasn’t impressed by the polluted water and crowds. ANY beach in the Caribbean beats this place hands down.
Beautiful beach, stunning natural scene. A street nearby with lots of restaurants and some shopping.
Very beautiful beach! To get there, take the boat from Ao nang, it’s 100bath one way per person! The boat ride is really cool, the beachside restaurants are expensive but if you go a little further away, there is good food to eat at a good price
Railay Beach is the most stunning attraction on the beaches of Krabi province. It's accessible only by boat from Ao Nang or nopparat thara pier. It takes only 20 minutes by long-tail passenger boat to Railay Beach, only 100Bth/per person. The high limestone cliffs cut off Railay Beach from the mainland of Krabi province. Many luxury and mid-range resorts for accommodation, food, and shops are available for tourists.
A very nice beach from where you can access different caves and a shopping and restaurant area, you will also find monkeys, large reptiles and large spiders in the area, spiders are usually further from the roads, don't worry
Railay beach is another tourist attraction place in Krabi. The beach is separated from main land with a high granite wall. So only water ways is open to visit this small blue lagoon. The long tail boat is available from Ao Nang, it will took 15 minutes and the cost is TBH 200/both way. The boat is available until 6 pm to return from Railay Beach to Ao Nang main land. The Railay Beach famous for its blue water, kayaking and rock climbing. The high granite wall attracts rock climbers around the globe. Railay Beach also prominent for backpackers. The beach side restaurant offer so many refreshing drinks and foods to the tourist. This time I saw the west side of the Railay Beach. But next time I will plan for east and visit rock climbing site as well!
Both, Railey Beach east and west and the biggest tourist shitholes I've ever seen. Mass tourism with 80% from the very low income levels, judging on the looks. No happy Thais there, you can see that they hate working on that half island. Dirt and garbage everywhere. It stinks in every corner and the beach is just not nice. Motor oil from the hundertes of the long tail taxies and plastic floating around. And hundrets of tourists laying there somehow enjoying this mess. I don't get it. The nicer photos here are all taken from a higher ground so you don't see the mess left, right, down and behind that single shot. Seriously: don't go there. You won't miss anything. This is not Thailand. The hole half island (not just Railey) is mass tourism at it's finest. Better visit one of the national parks more far away. And don't get me started with Ao Nang, the next tourist trap that people who obvously have not seen anything else then the Thailand tourist hot spots somehow enjoy.
Went there during a cloudy day when the sea is quite on its moody state. As mentioned, it can only be accessed thru long tail boats at AoNang and maybe on Krabi. This has been one of my thrilling boat rides. Literally, everytime a wave hits, our a** is bouncing off from our seats (see my video). Luckily, after 15 munites, we landed at Railay the same number we left the port:) At the beach, we just enjoyed the view despite the not so good weather.it maybe a nice place to get some tan lines, when there is sun, and also swimming if you wont mind the noise and possible oil leaks of the longtails parked on the same shore. I would suggest taking he beach on the other side near the Pra Nang cave where it can be less polutted.
Beautiful place but overrun with tourists. If you’re going here, spend the extra money to stay at Rayavadee - it’s much nicer than the other places!
