OonLee Bungalows

Didnt stay over night, but the place looks fantastic. Beautiful flower harden divided by narrow paths, well built bungalows and a spaceous restaurant. Quite a hassle to get there and still a lot of rocky dirt road. Food was allright and authentic, not too much above island average. They habe a lot of western dishes on the menu. French toast was no burner, but it never was when i gave it a try. Prices are definitely above average.

This is simply a piece of paradise on earth. What a beautifully set up resort. (and what a job that must have been, in the middle of the jungle). (Bath) Rooms are clean and have a wonderful shower. Service perfect. You will lack nothing here. We stayed in Sunset Studio with a sea view. With a spacious balcony and lovely hammock. Tip: bring an extra hammock and hang it up so you can both relax on your balcony.

Perfect place if you want to relax and enjoy the paradise of Ko Jum! Can only recommend! Amazing location, bungalows and hosts. Will def.come back!

We spent a week on Koh Yum in one of the wonderful bungalows. It was one of the most relaxing and beautiful stays we have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. The bungalows are lovingly furnished and have a breathtaking view of the sea. The restaurant serves excellent food and the entire team is very helpful and nice! During the day you can rent a canoe and go snorkeling or relax with a Thai massage. There is the option to rent a scooter and explore the island. We had an unforgettable time. Many thanks to Valerie, Oon, Joey, Alex and the entire team!

We had a great stay here. The bungalows are provided with everything you’ll need. Except an air condition, but there’s a fan which will cool you down a bit and it’s pretty powerful. The bed is very comfortable and surrounded by a mosquito net.

The hosts are super kind and will help you with everything you’ll need. The resort is quite remote. So you’ll need a motorbike or taxi to bring you to the main parts of the island.

Near the beach there’s a small bar and massage salon. Between 5-7 pm there’s a happy hour. And all cocktails are 100 thb. Real good price

Einfach nur ein Träumchen! Wir haben 3 Nächte bei Oonlee verbracht und sie in vollen Zügen genossen! An diesem Ort kannst du die Seele baumeln lassen und alles ganz in Ruhe erkunden! For free kannst du dir hier ein Kajak ausleihen und damit über das Meer schippern! Das Personal war so lieb & ich bin mir sicher, dass ich nochmal an diesen wunderbaren Ort zurückkommen werde! Die Insel allgemein ist auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert für alle, die dem Tourismus entfliehen wollen ️

I had the time of my life in OonLee Bungalows. Our bungalow, the common area, scenery, etc. I loved every bit of it. Everything was just perfect and full of precious details. We loved having a little bit of a chit-chat with Oon and Valerie family members, they were all very friendly and caring. The food in the restaurant was delicious, too! I am dreaming of coming back to this place once again. It stole my heart.

Just a beautiful place to stay.the staff is sooooo friendly.the owner is kind of crazy, but sooo friendly and helpful.his wife Valerie and the kids are just awesome.we will defintly come back =)

We stayed in Oon Lee Bungalows for a couple of days. We arrived after a heavy rains so the road to the resort was destroyed at some point and we had to take our luggage, go through a mud for a while and change cars. But the staff was so friendly and made this trip so natural that we felt more optimistic. We were pesimistic because of the weather forecast, but what can you do about it:)

We have been there in the 3rd week of November. The resort is beautiful. Clean, hidden in plants, lights at the evening make the place magical. Bungalow was clean and comfortable. No animals or insects inside ;) No Air-con but fan was absolutely enough. Food very tasty. Always fresh fish available. Drinks at the beach bar delicious and view at Koh Phi Phi amazing, especially at sunset. We didn’t go anywhere from the resort, only walking in the beach (apart from monkeys and small crabs we were very often alone there!:) ). To go from the bar / bungalow to the restaurant you have to climb rocky stairs which might be tiring for elderly people or those not in shape.

To get in and out of the resort - we were supported by the Staff, given instructions or had arranged everything by Oon and Valerie. And This is another amazing feature - the resort is run by a family, Oon, his French wife Valerie, and their sons; they are supported by great staff members, e.g. Tar:) This makes you feel as a family member as well:) the stay was lovely, relaxing, wonderful experience. Excellent to chill, stay out of the crowdy places. We will be happy to come back:)

A very special place. Spent two weeks here (Dec-Jan 23) and it was my fourth time. Thank you so much once again, will come back! This family, the dogs, this island and this Resort are something else. Would give more stars if it was possible! Love you so much! ️

Super friendly owners, make you immediately feel at home and gives you the feeling of being a welcomed guest at their family‘s place! Very helpful also during days of heavy rainfall and when it was difficult to reach the resort as part of the street slid away. The food is delicious with a fusion of French and Thai cuisine - we would definitely recommend)

The OonLee Bungalows on Ko Jum were one of the very best accomondations in Thailand we had so far. EPL: effort, passion, and love. Oon and Valérie built it up starting 17 years ago creating a safe and modern Garden Eden. Inbetween the stunning nature at the bottom of Mount Pu this place is extraordinary. The restaurant – the heart of this green oasis – makes you feel like beeing in a homey Gentlemans Club minus the stiff atmosphere. Designed with very good taste and awesome details.
The cuisine is astonishing. Fresh healthy Thai Food and selected dishes meet European breakfast. You can have both.

Even good wine is on the not too big menu. Only the coffee could come in more and stronger varieties.

All is very uncomplicated and easy going here. The Bungalows are cosy, simple, with wood, bamboo and much love for all details. The bar downstairs is built at the ocean, with good drinks, pool Billards and again such beautiful taste. The family of Oon, Valérie and their two sons, Alec and Joey, are smart, polite and funny people same as their staff, especially Dao who is hell of a funny, lovely guy – even though he is a Liverpool fan ;)

For us the highlight was definitly the good hearted dogs living at this place. Dumm and Singha first and formost who slept on our terrace every night so we felt very protected (although it wasn’t nessacary). If you’re not so much into dogs no problem, the resort is big enough.
We recommend this place as a must see and we have been very sad to leave this beautiful and relaxing oasis behind us. Whenever we return to Thailand we will come back for sure.

Im taking the time to rate these Bungalows a second time here, first review was on booking, because I enjoyed staying here THAT much, and I was only there for one night, had booked another accommodation on the island i couldnt get out of.

Hard to start but the first point is I arrived after taking my rented scooter along the crazy so called road to get to the bungalows, I wasent sure I would make it and was afraid to leave, but I did lave and I got more used to the road, every time. After I arrived, I was greeted very friendly by my first Name and given an immediate upgrade to a sea view bungalow which looked like it had been built yesterday, it wasent but the owners renovate the bungalows every year so they are all in great condition. After putting down my bag I went straight down the stairs to the beach and walk about 30 m to get to the sand and used the provided sand toweI to lay on the beach after swimming in the calm clear water. There is snorkeling masks and stuff provided if you want to go snorkeling off from the bungalows. There is also down by the beach sunbeds on which to lay if your interested in getting sun not on the sand. There is also a bar down on the beach wth the friendliest most professionalist cocktail bartender Joey, really great guy and super talented! Happy hour goes through sunset! He made me and another guest a alc free thai basil something which hed never made before, made it up on the spot and they tasted AMAZING! Thank you!
I ate at the restaurant a few times and the barracuda carpaccio was simply amazingly fresh and perfect, a plate of raw fish, i loved it. The pad thai I had for lunch was so so. I to the bike to the town for the rest of my meals but the reviews of the restaurant all seem to be very good and I had the feeling that almost ALL the other guests ate their meals in the restaurant.
In the accommodation themselves there was a water cooker, with coffee, a hammock and chair on the terrace, a swinging fan on the ceiling, lights on the walls, a super hot water boiler for almost scalding hot water, soup, shampoo and even lotion. There was a safe in the room which I didnt understand why it would be needed, I felt oever safe and almost like part of the family there. The bungalows are secluded which I also enjoyed. I had one close the the restaurant, where the internet is, and could get a 5G connection in my room, otherwise I think the other bungalows were wlan free BUT you have good cell / mobile / handy reception on the entire island so I didnt actually nee the WLAN, but in the reception the connection is lightening fast!
I met another guest there who was there before me and had met everyone and she told me stories of how friendly the staff are, stories of the staff themselves where the came from, etc etc and how they are willing to help in any way to get to the town or help book anything and me as a american living in Berlin appreciated the HIGH standard of service provided by the staff SOOOOOO much im even considering staying longer on the island just so I can go back to these bungalows.
If there is space available at these bungalows BOOK now for relaxation and seclusion with the best service imaginable!

I was here with a group of friends at the end of January for an overnight stay. Valerie and her husband Oon were incredible hosts and were very accommodating; nothing was too much to ask. Thanks again for putting up with us Valerie!

Oon Lee is located in tropical gardens with stunning views over the Andaman ocean with Phi-Phi on the horizon – it’s a great spot to watch the sunset with a cold drink.

The bungalows are spotlessly clean, with very comfortable beds and fresh linen. The interior of the bungalows have lots of attention to detail, with nice furniture and decorations – it’s clear a lot of time has been spent on the bungalows, it really is a “home from home”.

The food we ate was superb, with a mixture of Thai and French dishes, the croque monsieur I had for breakfast was excellent. I could not recommend Oon Lee enough, and will definitely be returning!

We absolutely loved our stay at Oon Lee. Valerie and her staff is so welcoming and caring, making sure you have a great stay. Book a bungalow with sea view and you might not ever want to leave! We rented a scooter to easily access the rest of Koh Jum, an island that will make you totally relaxed. Can't wait to visit again!

This resort is magical. Oon, Valerie, Alec, Joey and Ta were amazing hosts. The food is excellent. If you want a laid back resort with a friendly vibe and excellent service this is the place for you. If you want air conditioning and a pool this is not the place for you. We loved that we did not have to carry money or keys. Oon and Valerie booked everything for us. The bar in the beach has beautiful sunsets.

ที่พักแม้จะไม่มีเครื่องปรับอากาศ แต่ด้วยความที่เป็นบังกะโลยกพื้นสูงเปิดโล่ง (มีประตู หน้าต่าง ไม้ไผ่ และมุ้งที่คลุมเตียงได้รอบ) มีลมเย็น ๆ พัดผ่านอยู่ตลอดเวลาทั้งกลางวันและกลางคืน ก็ทำให้คนขี้ร้อนอย่างเราลืมเครื่องปรับอากาศไปได้เลย

แนะนำให้ผู้เข้าพักที่นี่ จองห้องพักแบบมีอาหารเช้าด้วย เพราะอาหารที่นี่ (ไม่ใช่แค่อาหารเช้านะ) รสชาติดีเด็ดมาก ๆ เรียกได้ว่าเรามีความสุขทุกครั้งเมื่อถึงมื้ออาหาร โดยเฉพาะอาหารค่ำ ที่เราสามารถสอบถามคุณอ้นและมาดามลีก่อนได้ว่าเย็นวันนี้จะมีวัตถุดิบอะไรและสามารถปรุงเป็นอะไรได้บ้าง มื้อพิเศษมื้อหนึ่งของทริปเราจึงมี barracuda carpaccio (การนำปลาสากไปปรุงอย่างเมนู Carpaccio) มาเป็นจานเรียกน้ำย่อย ส่วนตอนบ่าย ๆ เราก็จะสั่งแซนด์วิช (แฮมชีส ทูน่า โชริโซ่) มากินเป็นประจำทุกวัน ความอร่อยของอาหารที่นี่ถือว่าคุ้มค่าสมราคาที่จ่ายแน่นอน

กิจกรรมอื่น ๆ นอกเหนือจากกิจกรรมริมชายหาด เช่น นอนอาบแดด เล่นน้ำ หรือพายเรือคายัคแล้ว เราอาจขอให้คุณอ้นติดต่อไกด์ท้องถิ่นพาเราไปปีนเขา (ถ้าจะไปปีนเขาควรเตรียมรองเท้าผ้าใบ และสเปรย์ไล่ยุงมาด้วยก็ดีนะ) หรือจะติดต่อขอเช่าจักรยานของที่พักเพื่อไปขี่เล่นให้ทั่วเกาะก็น่าสนใจไม่น้อย

การดูแลเอาใจใส่ของเจ้าของที่พัก ทำให้การเดินทางครั้งนี้เป็นความทรงจำที่ดีครั้งหนึ่งของเรา <3

We ate here a couple of nights. Stunning food, wine and cocktails. Lovely family and a fabulous atmosphere. We stayed further along the beach and would recomend using your torch on your phone to get there as the beach is dark in places. Although this is also where you will see the best stars!

Top Bungalows! Liebevolle Gastgeberin und gutes Essen. Der Strand direkt ist nicht zu empfehlen.aber ca 300 Meter weiter links wird es traumhaft. Bars und Restaurants am Strand erreichbar

Fantastic place with lots of detail and attention. There has been a lot of time spent in order to make this place what it is today: an oasis to relax and feel at home in. It's really amazing including the service and kindness of everyone working here. Make sure that someone picks you up in order to get there. The last mile is a little adventurous.
