ECO LANTA HIDEAWAY BEACH RESORT

Horror Resort!
I can only advise against it.
Run-down facility. Loveless, dirty and dangerous due to protruding nails in the demolishable bungalows. Mattresses are on the floor. Bed linen and towels full of disgusting stains. Garbage everywhere and the food inedible.
I've seen a lot in Thailand, but that was the worst. Expensive too. Absolutely disgraceful. I booked 3 nights and left after one night. Stay away.

Wonderful accommodation, the cabins are very well maintained, clean and very large. I loved the place next to the beach. The accommodation has a restaurant that serves delicious food at a very good price and also an incredible Thai massage center that is very professional. They also offer motorcycle and car rental and all kinds of excursions and the staff is the best, very nice, friendly and always eager to help you.

Stay in September 2023 for 3 days. The bungalow is great and the staff very welcoming. The last day we booked an activity via the hotel reception and so far perfect. The next day we learned that it had been canceled due to bad weather (completely normal because snorkeling and we were in the rainy season). We decide to return to Krabi the same day a few hours later. We head to reception to be reimbursed because it was mentioned that full reimbursement was given in the event of bad weather. We paid 3700bts or €90 for two. The lady explains to us that she must wait until the person in charge of the activity has first reimbursed her. Except that we had booked the ferry for the return so it was agreed that she would send me the refund via PayPal or something else. I was very naive in thinking that this unprofessional lady would reimburse me one day.she made fun of me until now by telling me that her family was in the hospital and that she had to pay a big note. I wanted to be kind and understandable by giving him time. It's December and this person has decided to simply stop responding. Of course that wasn't the only excuse in 3 months. She told me that she had to wait for her salary and that the PayPal QR code did not work and that she did not have an interest connection (even though she responded via WhatsApp). I'm sharing my experience with you so you don't get fooled. I know for a fact that I was very stupid to believe this woman.

The good:
Wonderful location directly on Long beach. Pretty quiet and chill part to relax. Restaurant was really good, (almost) all food I had there was fantastic. Super friendly staff. My hut looked nice and had a working aircon that was really needed. Bathroom okay. Free water that could be refilled, coffee and water boiler in the room. Overall it was okay for the price being paid.

Not so good:
The way to the resort leads through an unpaved road. That is okay, but there is absolutely no lighting at night for 300m. If you go out to the streets in the evening you walk back to your hut in complete darkness over a muddy road when it rained. They really must install some light there. I even went through the other resort next to it and back via the beach to avoid this way on one day. The bamboo huts stand near the next one and you really hear every word being said or if someone uses the toilet. Also the sea and all the animals which is nice, but do not expect a lot of privacy here, e.g. If you’re a couple or alone and meet someone. Front entry window only covered by a white curtain that doesn’t really darken the room and you can even see through it from the outside a bit. Lots of mosquitoes, might also be triggered by all the open water mugs in front of each hut. Wifi was the worst I ever had in a hotel: you could connect but in 70% there was no internet connection or it was so slow that not even a basic mobile phone website loaded. Don’t expect to work here if you rely on internet. I used my mobile plan after a few days. Breakfast was pretty basic for the price of 200 Baht (but the restaurant was great at other times). Bed sheets and mosquito net need renewal.

Overall great location but the resort needs some important updates.

I was here with my family in July for 20 days.was great! Everything as in the description.beautiful nature, beautiful garden, beach, view from the house to the sea.the owners of the resort very helpful.restaurants, spa, shops nearby. Beautifully!

It's all about the fantastic location apart from that it's just a bamboo hut. In its day the accommodation was probably fine but covid and lack of investment has left it feeling father run down. Sockets sparked when inserting a plug, lights not working no water from sink and shower weak with intermittent temperature. But a beautiful spot

Schöne Häuschen. Erst haben wir ohne Klimaanlage gebucht, das Upgrade war aber ganz einfach aber schon etwas teuer, da es gleich auch ein grösseres Zimmer gibt. Frühstück war gut und genügend. Koh Lanta ist eher ruhiger, der Stand welcher gleich in der Nähe ist, ist aber noch viel ruhiger und man ist sehr für sich.

Really nice food here! We didn’t stay in the accommodation, but it looks gorgeous.

We ordered a fried vermicelli with egg dish and a vegetable Penang fried rice.

Overall just a lovely experience. The owner is amazing, accommodating, helpful and just a great human. Wonderful spot, and felt really nice to be in bungalows right by the beach. Will stay here anytime we’re in Koh Lanta. ️

The place is nice for the money, but there are a few things to consider before you go here.

The bungalows are bamboo bungalows and therefore you can hear every single thing from the outside vice versa. I have a very light sleep so i woke up a lot the first night, afterwards i got myself earplugs. One night neighbors were partying on the balcony of their bungalow with loud music and like 15 people. That was keeping everybody awake at the ECO Village for sure.

And the air condition is not working that great, because of the facts its bamboo huts and the cold can exit everywhere.

Other than that i like the matress, the restaurant and thats its right at the beach. The balcony to sit in front and the hammock are great too - feels home.

We stayed in a beachfront bungalow with an excellent view that included breakfast. The bungalow was spacious but rickety. I was afraid the toilet was going to come loose. The restaurant was good but a bit pricey. There are 7-8 options for breakfast, which comes with coffee, fresh squeezed juice and fresh fruit. You can walk along the beach for other options if you bored. They have free water to discourage the use of plastic bottles. The beach is gorgeous and great for swimming. There is shade in the morning. It's relatively quiet except for the sounds of nature. Overall, I thought it was an excellent value.

Where do I even start… I could list 420 reasons why you should book this place.

This particular experience is representative for the entire attitude you will get to enjoy there:

I went on a day trip and when I came come late in the afternoon, the owner very calmly and gently reminded me that I had been several hours past my check out and that the new tenants were waiting… I had totally forgotten it. 
Instead of kicking me into the street (I wouldn’t have complained, honestly) the upgraded me into a luxury pod fand took me out to celebrate my birthday that night.

And for every day of my stay I have another story like this…

I just booked a bungalow by the beach and ended up with new friends and memories I will never forget. Thank you again for this wholesome experience, I appreciate you!

The location is just perfect, the bungalows are great, the gentle sounds of waves in the back are so soothing, you’ll sleep like a baby…

Oh, and also the Thai food at their restaurant is arrroooy maak!

The biggest advantage of the hotel is its location on the beach. The hotel itself is poorly maintained - many houses are under renovation. Our cottage (family) met our expectations - it was comfortable, with air conditioning. Unfortunately, it had one serious flaw - the clogging toilet. We would also appreciate if it had a kettle. Anyway we enjoyed our stay a lot - the beautiful sunsets at the beach, the delicate sand and wide beach just made it:)

Beautiful location with the most wonderful host. He had a lot of good recommendations of what to do in Koh Lanta and helped us arrange everything. He also had two very cute dogs. Eco Lanta also has an amazing massage parlor that was just perfect after a full day of snorkeling. Would recommend eco Lanta for the beautiful sunset.

Eco Lanta Hideaway Beach Resort We had a lovely stay at the resort. Pure Thailand, very quiet, no crowd, great staff, very friendly people, good massage. We stayd 3 nights and we rested at the nice sunbeds on the beach. We reccomend to go to the eco lanta resort.

Excellent location in the middle of a small forest next to the beach. Service is excellent and the garden is beautiful. Very peaceful place with a very good in house massage place.

Spend the week here last week.

Like many other ppaces on Ko Lanta it has just recently opened up after a long periodnof closong due to covid. Because of covid the numbers of tourists are not high at all. This means empty beaches and not very busy bars / clubs.

Also the most hotels are not fully booked. It shows that some cabins have not been used for some time. But because of what i just said ; these cabins are not used for 2 years and will not be used very soon. Things are starting back u again in Ko Lanta. With things trying to get back to normal the owner is trying to get all the cabins bck online again.

Talking about the owner and the staff ; extremely friendly. Always willing to help you out.

The food is nice, the beach has some trees to shelter against the sun so great!

The ca ins are made of bamboo wich is good in relation to sustainability. For me as a european there could be a bit more attention to the sustainability part. (i dont need new sheets every day and i dont need new water innplastic bottles every day) But for asian standards it is great that they approach it in thus way.

The cabins are far enough from the road. You hear only the sea at night (and animals outside tour cabin. Not sure what they were exactly)

I would defenity go there again and indefenitwly reccomend it!
