Magnificent stay with the Karens (3 days and 2 nights, in the province of Chiang Mai with authentik trip 555) we experienced a total change of scenery far from tourism with unforgettable memories that we cannot relive anywhere else!
You will discover Karen cuisine, villages, families, coffee roasting, rice harvesting (depending on the period), weaving, trekking in the jungle, song evening around a fire with Pen's uncle, a day with the elephants (who live freely in the forest), you will have the chance to follow them at their own pace, feed them and bathe them.
The Karens are welcoming, caring, patient and always caring for us.
They like to share and it shows!
We learned a lot with them, their working method, their history, their simplicity and their mutual assistance touched us
The organization was perfect, we took the time for each activity.

We spent 4 amazing days in Chang Mai province with the Authentic Trip 555 team. First day at Doi Ithanon for a quiet and pretty ride followed by a visit to the royal pagodas with Bob, second day with Zen and his in-depth knowledge from the Buddhist religion to visit an absolutely magical temple in the jungle in the morning… Zen turned into a happy fellow in the afternoon when we had a special moment with the elephants (and in particular San Dee 10 months) who ends in absolute giggles and fabulous games when swimming!
The stay continued with two days of Trekking in Karen country with Dee Dee, Karen guide who took us to her village and the surrounding mountains through jungle and rice fields. Dee Dee, a real favorite! Extraordinary humanity, top-notch humor and a great discussion in the evening after dark in a gite with a fabulous view… (in English), and also an outstanding cook!
Thank you David for organizing this for Marion (19) Zoé (16) and me! We still have stars in our eyes from these 4 fabulous days!

We spent a wonderful day in Chiang Mai with David: rafting, lunch break & swimming at the edge of a superb waterfall and above all magnificent moments with the elephants!

Thank you David for these magical moments. We had wonderful moments, between the reserve with the elephants (walks, swimming…), the trek to sleep in a Karen village and the visit to the tea plantation, temple and waterfall. David shares his knowledge of Thailand with us and makes us want to come back to visit the treasures of this country again.
