Retro Box Hotel

Good locations, room abit small & run down. If you just want to sleep this is place for you. Location is good, a lot of restaurant & street food is walking distance, 7-11 just 100m.

Not great. We kept falling over each other. It was also dirty and there were rusty cleats on the container. The bed was also horribly hard.

Special hotel by special design. Sea container rooms are not very spacious, but equipped with everything. Suite very spacious with large bathroom, but no window. Not bad for 1 night. Nice swimming pool. Rooms are very clean. Limited breakfast but adequate. Perfect location near main street. Price-quality ratio good.

Location is great, close to the night market and a park/stadium where you can do some exercise. Moreover you have a bunch of stores around.

Containers/rooms are ok. They are quite small, but you have an AC and a fridge.
The smell is indeed quite musty - but with running AC this can be solved.
AC is not for the light sleepers - ours made weird and little annoying noises.
It will get hot in the room during the day - the AC and light only works with the key card.

Bathroom door was indeed really annoying - the door slide didn’t work properly.
Cleanliness was ok - but can be improved.
Bed was ok.

Pool area nice, although they only have limited chairs at the pool and they are in the sun - at least during noon time.
But the pool itself is nice and they provide some balls and stuff to play.

Breakfast time is really strange - 6 to 9 am. I have never seen so short and early breakfast times.
They only have fried eggs, sausages and toast on a plate, which may be prepared in advance. You can take tea or coffee and fruit (in our case rambutan) by yourself.
After breakfast you have to clear your table.
Free water refill and during the day you can help yourself with tea and coffee.

After checkout we were allowed to stay at the pool, as we took the night ferry to Koh Tao. They also gave us a tourist brochure without asking for it - so very attentive.
Paid roughly 30 Euros for two nights during off-season.

Rooms were small, bed was ok, staff were friendly, but there's lots of mosquitoes at night so you'll have to be careful opening doors. There's few ants crawling around bed but not to the point that will wake you up. Close to many street food

ที่พักมีราคา690/890/1090 ก็เหมาะสมกับราคาค่ะ แต่ห้องมีขนาดค่อนข้างแคบขนกระเป๋าเสื้อผ้าเข้าไปก็แทบไม่มีที่จะเดิน เข้าพักห้อง102 ชั้นล่างติดสระน้ำเตียง2ชั้น แอร์ไม่มีความเย็นแจ้งทาง รร. ไปก็มาเช็คให้ บอกแอร์เพิ่งเริ่มทำงาน สรุปคืนนั้นนอนร้อนทั้งคืน ทาง รร น่าจะรู้แหละว่าแอร์ไม่เย็นในห้องนี้ถึงมีพัดลมให้อีก1ตัว ทั้งๆที่ห้องอื่นๆก็ไม่มีนะคะ อยากให้ปรับปรุง เพราะห้องนี้ราคา1090฿ แต่ต้องมานอนร้อนๆมันก็ไม่ใช่ พนักงานต้อนรับพูดคุยดีค่ะ ราคานี้มีอาหารเช้าให้ถึง 9 โมง

Great hotel in Chumphon. Had a small room with private bathroom and AC and liked it very much. The room was clean and cozy. Location is in the town center so you have to walk for 50 m to find whatever you need. Although it's in the middle of town it's safe. They have a big enough parking lot with gates.

Staff was really nice and helpful. Helped us with the laundry machine and drying the clothes. They even researched a bus connection for us after we had checked out and left town.

Very comfortable place to stay at short notice, if your stuck for somewhere to stay try here, just walked up and asked the owner no problem, cool guy and it's got a pool small but great fun

Interesting construction, most rooms are former seafreight containers. Large pool. Very nice staff, helped us with trip planning. Price value is really good. Its close to the mainstreet with 7/11 and the street night market. Clean and good hygiene measures. Breakfast was simple but good - toast, fried egg, sausage, juice, coffee. And a smile!

Bicycle tourist here. Bicycle can go behind or in the lobby area. Very cool place, will return.

Fantastic stay. Great location, great and warm staff. Very cool place with an extremely clean pool. I will give you warning, this is a containing hotel and sound can travel through metal well. If you are a light sleeper maybe ask for a room on the top deck or one not in the center of 2 rooms. You should be fine if you have ear plugs.

The staff were beyond great. They offered me water before I left, talked about my trip, found me a cheap ticket for a ferry, and we just great hosts. Thank you so much. I

Really cool experience to sleep in a container. Especially while it was raining. You have an aircon, the bathroom is inside of the container. So you have not much space, but I guess when you are looking for space you should not think about sleeping in a container. The staff is really friendly, the breakfast is basic but okay and the surrounding is nice and you have alot of streetfood along the road and not far away there is a great bar with awesome food quality and Asian live music. Definitely a nice stay for a stop over.

The best people and hotel in Chumphon. Be sure to take down their line id to be in contact with them in case you needed help along the way. Small rooms but very comfortable. There is food just outside the hotel and they can speak malay too.
