Chumphon Cabana Resort & Diving Center

The resort facing to the beautiful beach that suitable for kids. Villas are run-down but still OK.

One very big disappointment was kid's breakfast.
The receptionist charged extra 250B for a kid who was 5 years old, that was the same price as an adult. I saw a la cart on the menu but she didn't suggest us any other option.

The restaurant offered home-made breads, organic fresh vegetables, eggs and fruits, Thai style spicy noodles, fried rice made of grains and herbal drinks.
It was delicious and I loved the concepts, but not for childrens! There were nothing for kids to eat. No pancakes, orange juice, any meat or sausages. My son just had a slice of Banana bread and some ovaltine. I felt it was really no value.
If the hotel costs kids that price, it should prepare more menu for kids. Or half price for them would be acceptable.

We have now been to Chumphon Cabana 5 times and absolutely love it! Beautiful setting, relaxing and very friendly. Swim in the clean sea, snorkel around the islands and walk along the beach to visit one of the many wonderful restaurants. If you want to 'party' this is NOT for you, but if you want a real Thai holiday experience, this is the place!

Very friendly staff in restaurant. My wife ordered chicken soup and the chicken was spoiled! Pizza was not the worst I had in Thai but not much better. Way over priced

ชอบพนักงานทุกท่านเลยค่ะ ตั้งแต่พนักงานต้อนรับ พนักงานห้องอาหาร บริการดีมากๆเป็นกันเองด้วยค่ะ รอบหน้าจะพาครอบครัวมาพักผ่อนนะค่ะ ที่พักสะอาด บรรยากาศดี มากเช่นกันค่ะ

My boyfriend and I went diving with Chumphon Dive Center once and altogether we had a great time. Our guide was very trustworthy and the location of the dive was excellent. Just one thing to keep in mind and that should please be checked from the dive center: The mouthpiece of my regulator came off during a dive, because it wasn't fixed with a zip tie. I was scared when that happened and needed to get air from my buddy. Luckily our dive guide was very experienced and he fixed the regulator quickly.

รีสอร์ทเก่ามีชื่อเสียงมานาน ปัจจุบันเสื่อมไปเยอะ บรรยากาศรีสอร์ทสวย หาดน้ำใสสวยมาก แต่แอบมีขยะนิด ๆ บริการดีพอใช้ แอร์บางห้องเย็นบางห้องไม่เย็น อาหารเช้ารสชาดดี พออิ่ม
บริเวณสวนด้านหลัง ขาดการดูแลอย่างแรง
โดยรวม ๆ ที่พักนอนสบายพอใช้ แต่ได้ความสงบ
อาหารแพงกว่าข้างนอก ด้อยทั้งรสชาดและปริมาณ

Old well known resort, now lack of maintenance
Cosy quiet view

Resort with dated facilities, nice and helpful staff. Location on a quiet beach with enough restaurants to have variety for a few days. Highlight was lunch at one of the small kiosks a brief walk away on the beach that provide a big beach matt together with small plastic table and nice food.
Discovered on the last day - being lazy - that the best restaurant on the beach is actually in the Cabana resort.

Well. This is an enigma within a riddle. This is the absolute best location on the whole Thung Wua Laen Beach without a question. But the place is run down so hard it's not even funny. Some 30 years ago this must have been a absolute paradise. But now it's just sad. The concept of a low carbon impact resort built more than 30 years ago is mind blowing.
The location is absolutely stunning but the nature is slowly taking the resort back. It's a huge resort that ones up on a time had a mission to educate about nature and the ways of Thai rural living.
Some 20 years ago I visited the resort and at that point every thing was up and running. It was a bit run down but it was to be expected. (Thai do not believe in matinence). To day it was a shock to wander about. The former pool area up in the plerngarden was turned in to a moonshine factory. And the former large tiled pool was a fish farm.
The beach is fantastic but unfortunately it is full of garbage. Not many tourists visits this beach so it's not as clean as the other beaches.
Thai government have a ok trash removal program but unfortunately it does not reach all the way.

The ugliest place I've ever been. Even the beach is dirty as f. We get a bungalow with Seaview. I've paid an extra for a Seaview - yes You will get a Seaview when you will go out from your bungalow worthless in first bungalow tv doesn't work toilet was blocked and was many ants in there. I've asked polite to change for the different one. We have checked before doing that and at the first sight it was all right. Toilet was better, TV was ok But there still was a lot of ants all over this place when we moved in. I'm so happy that this is just one night in here.

พื้นมีแต่ฝุ่นต้องมากวาดเอง ห้องและผ้าห่มโครตเหม็นอับพนักงานแจ้งก่อนเข้าว่าเมื่อเปิดแอร์กลิ่นจะหายไปเอง โทรไปจะขอเปลี่ยนผ้าห่มเพราะห่มแล้วเหม็นและคันไม่มีคนรับสาย. ต่อให้หาดสวยแค่ไหนแต่ถ้าห้องแย่แบบนี้ลูกค้าก็ไปที่อื่นหมด

I stayed here awhile back while getting my PADI dive certificate. The first day I was there I had $100 stolen from my luggage while I was out of the room and the cleaning person was inside cleaning. It was my emergency money that I had hidden inside a compartment.

เมนูของลูกสาว กล้วยทอด ไอศครีมมะพร้าว สำหรับอาหารท้องถิ่น แนะนำ น้ำพริกสามสะใภ้ แกงกะทิใบเหลียงปลาย่าง ส้มตำใบเหลียงทอดกุ้งสด ต้มส้มปลากระบอก ยำสับประรดสวีพริกแห้ง ปลาทูสดทอดเครื่อง

ภายในห้องดีเพราะเพิ่งปรับปรุง แต่ภายนอกเช่นอาคาร ทางเดิน สวน ดูเก่ามากๆ และทางขึ้นตึกดูมืดๆทึมๆ แต่นอกนั้นก็โอเคหมด พนักงานบริการดี ใกล้ทะเลเดินลงทะเลได้เลย อาหารก็มีให้เลือกเยอะดีตามมาตรฐาน ไส้กรอกไข่ดาว ออมเลต ข้าวต้ม สลัด ข้าวยำ ข้าวแกง บลาๆ ทะเลใสดี แต่มีขยะบ้าง คงเพราะการจัดการ เทียบกับปราณสะอาดกว่าเยอะเลย

Relaxing atmosphere, good taste food and comfortable accommodation. Just only bathroom which is needed to be improved

โรงแรมใหญ่ในอดีต แต่ปัจจุบันค่อนข้างเก่า มีสระว่ายน้ำแต่ปิดปรับปรุง อาหารเช้าแบบบุฟเฟต์มีให้เลือกพอสมควร จำพวกข้าวต้ม ไข่ดาว ไส้กรอก ขนมปัง แต่รสชาติเฉยๆ
ข้อดีคือติดชายหาดที่น้ำค่อนข้างใส มีความเป็นส่วนตัวดี

Hotel is alright for the price but had the restaurant staff stole 500 baht when I was looking for more change to give a better tip.
