This wat is located on road 107. A lot is done here for the community and believers. Here is a school, kindergarten and a retreat where you can live like a monk in simple surroundings.
It's worth a visit.
Lovely temple with a meditation center in Fang. I stayed there for a week over New Years practicing Vipassana under the supervision of Ven. Clyde. The place is idyllic and offers different places for meditation, like a bamboo garden for walking and individual huts for sitting.
You have your own kuti, and take part in the daily routine of the center, which includes group chanting and meditation several times a day.
I particularly liked to be immersed in an authentic environment, with mostly local thai practitioners. Everyone is very very kind, even if they don’t speak English.
A beautiful experience I’ll never forget.:)
I spent 4 weeks here. The center is beautiful, spacious, and incredibly accommodating. The meditation teacher, Ajahn Clyde, is fantastic; he’s as hands on or hands off as you need him to be, he’s encouraging, and he keeps his teachings simple and to the point. The center is nice for meditators of all experience levels in that there is talking allowed as well as free time to use electronics, go into town, etc, and minimum meditation requirements are only 3 hours. Keep in mind, if you require silence to meditate, it will be scarcely found at this center (there is a bamboo garden to meditate in, along with a temple 1.5 kilometers away by bicycle, and of course you can meditate in your kuti, but expect chatter around the meditation sala). There is also the wonderful opportunity to go on alms with the monks every morning. If you so choose, the center offers a tour of the city as well
