Wat Si Don Chai Pa Tung Ngam (Wat Mae Kaet Noi) reviews
20 Entry for 10 baht
We created a number of sculptures reminiscent of hell.
There are many scenes that are overly cruel to raise awareness.
We should avoid showing sculptures showing genitals exposed or torture to children.
There are a lot of old sculptures
It doesn't seem to be managed well.
There is a lot of damage to electrical devices and lighting.
Incredible, wow. I showed up right before dusk and not a single other person was there the whole time I was there. It definitely felt like I'd end up a permanent feature if I didn't make it out before dark
【I got a DOG BITE at the temple! 】
※Feb. 28.2023
I got a DOG BITE at the temple! I was attacked by 4 dogs. Be careful if you’re planning to go there. When I was bitten by a dog, 3 young MONKs there. Even though I asked them “I got bite, what should I do? ”, they only expressed awkward and didn’t help me. I had to find a hospital myself and got vaccinated. It’s the most horrible thing ever. The dogs listened to the monks. They aren’t stray dogs.
Not for kids, entrance fee is 10 bht (machine accepts only 10 bht coins), absolutely worth it! Although looks abandoned - needs renovation.
A lot of joy and fun you can get here. Preferably to be visited in the night, but the working hours seem to be till 17.
Mixed feelings with this place! I love how creepy it is! Haha it's a must go in my opinion, of you have plenty of time while you are in Chiang Mai
A garden with representations of punishments in Buddhist hell, some are crude, some are naive, funny altogether. Worth a visit.
Pretty cool place, probably not for kids but you parent as you see fit. Make sure you bring plenty of 10 baht coins as the turnstile only accepts them for admission. Also 10 baht coins can be used for the interactive displays. Overall it's a good place to kill an hour or 2 if you are in the area.
This place shows what happens to people who end up on Buddha's naughty list. The depictions are beyond cruel, some are extremely sick.
Christian hell is a 5 star resort compared to this place.
The art is graphically grotesque and shocking. It is amazing though and disturbingly satisfying for my traveling partner. Definitely worth a visit if you can stomach this type of art.
Not for the average traveler, these are lewd, graphic depictions of Buddhist hell. The creators really revel in the graphic and lurid depictions of sinful sinners. If your into that kind of thing, it's fantastic! Bring lots of 10 baht coins.
If your wanting a unique Buddhist temple experience that is very explicit. Go here. Definitely off the beaten track and was pretty awesome to see! It's been on my bucket list for years and I'm so glad I've finally been able to go. Better than I expected. Bring 10 baht coins to put in the various coin machines that make the experience even better.
Hahaha that's an Amazing place
Anyway is free entrance but your donation are welcome
Nice peaceful place with incredible garden
I have taken quite a few friends to this temple to show them how graphic the Thai Buddhist interpretations of Heaven and Hell can be. If you are traveling with children you might want to check out the place on your own before you bring the little ones. Always adding and changing this Buddhist Hell Garden puts all the rest of them to shame.
Effigies not very artistic, or special, mostly in red paint. Not hideous enough to be in hell. These are mild when compare to some asian countries protraying the same. Hell must equal fear. Eyes using light bulbs spoilt them completely. Area too cramp to get a good photo shot. Can give a miss if your purpose is to come and visit.
