สวยมาก เน้นถ่ายมสกว่าอธิบายพระธาตุดอยสะเก็ด ที่ด้านในบรรจุพระเกศาธาตุของพระพุทธเจ้านั้นมีอายุเก่าแก่กว่า 1,000 ปี

Just enjoy it in moderation.
If you take a songthaew at the market alley across from Ping River, it costs 25 baht, and the last stop is in front of the temple, so you can take it back after looking around.
Considering the distance, there isn't much enjoyment. I can't recommend it. There are many pretty temples in Chiang Mai.

I visited this temple while traveling from Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai.

Pros
1. I found it unexpectedly big. There are 3 big Buddha statues.
2. The temple is calm and likely used for religious ceremonies and celebrations.
3. Can visit for free
4. Free parking
5. There are a few shops to buy water, soft drinks and snacks
6. Clean toilets

Considerations
1. Please wear full length clothes.
2. It gets really hot and the idols are not in a shady place. Please carry an umbrella and cold water.

ได้ถวายกับพระมหาวุฒิ ท่านบอกเล่าถึงการพัฒนาวัดโดยท่านเจ้าอาวาส ที่ขยันขันแข็ง ทำให้วัดขยายใหญ่โต สวยงาม สะอาด มีกิจกรรมสวดมนต์ มีพระมหาจักรพรรดิองค์ใหญ่สวยงามมากอยู่บนเขาด้านหน้าประตูเข้าวัด สามารถมองเห็นจากถนนสายเชียงใหม่-เชียงราย เราขับรถออกจากประตูวัดก็ตรงไปไหว้พระเจ้าจักรพรรดิ มีบันไดเดินขึ้นไปสูงมาก ๆ แต่เราสามารถขับรถลอดองค์พระขึ้นไป มีลานจอด มีทางเดินขึ้นไปได้สะดวก ขับเข้าไปข้างในมีรอยพระพุทธบาท กำลังก่อสร้าง เราสามารถเดินเข้าไปกราบได้ มีจุดชมวิว บารมีของท่านเจ้าอาวาสและคณะสามารถสร้างวัดได้สวยงาม มีสวดมนต์ธรรมจัดรทุกวันเสาร์อาทิตย์เวลา 1 ทุ่ม ที่รอยพระพุทธบาท มาแล้วรู้สึกศรัทธา สงบมีความสุขค่ะ มีร้านกาแฟอยู่ก่นถึงประตูเข้าวัดด้วยค่ะ

You can reach the temple passing through Doi Saket town. For bikers, you need to pedal a bit but it’s worth seeing the amazing wall depictions in the Main Temple created by the artist Chalermchai Kositpipat. There is a new very huge reclining Buddha statue construction going on and I wonder how it will look like after completion.

Very good views of the surroundings from up on top of this hill. Lots of building going on. Reclining Buddha being built as well as a lot of stupa and other buildings going up despite pandemic and being being poorer. It has lots of steps to climb if you want to come and exercise. Great sunsets when the smoke is not bad. In January to May the pollution and smoke in the air is very bad. Best views are during rains up until end of December then the locals burn the forests and cause very dangerous PM2.5 levels.

Indescribable how holy this place where we had an opportunity to visit for the first time was to us. Upon arrival, after climbing step by step to the temple area, all of us suddenly felt the sacred serenity permeating all over the place. At first we expected the major crowd because of the weekend, but it’s surprisingly desolate and silent. Blissful for me and my entourage to get inside the golden pagoda to pay respect to the Buddha’s relics peacefully. Thankfully, once in a lifetime.

About 40 mins to 1h30 depending on stops and speed on moped from chiang mai. About 200 odd steps to get to the top from bottom car park or drive up around back is a lot easier. Worth the effort. Good view, good placement on the hill and less touristy.very quiet place, well maintained. There are a lot of spiritual paintings made by the monks in the main temple which are very interesting and calms you down after the exercise getting up. If you are staying in chiang mai for a month or so with a half day to spare its well worth the random excursion outside of the city for a bit. Take a drive down the riverside as well if you have time.

I don't know why Buddhists must put their wars on hill tops. These should be natural places.

Even though I wasn't able to enter the Temple buildings, I give this place 5 stars for the sheer variety of beautiful buildings and Buddha images spread along the top of this hillside. The crowning glory is the great views from the top of long flight of steps upto a Buddha Statue. There are some food stalls here to provides for visitors and perhaps more for the community of monks living here. The site is still being developed with the construction of a reclining Buddha in process. Interesting to see how they're building this with a type of concrete/plaster being spread across a shaped metal mesh frame.

A typically fine Thai temple, atop a hill with good views (when pollution is not around).

You can drive up or walk the 350 steps (in both directions) and get some exercise.

Plenty to see and explore whilst there.
