Wat Pha khao reviews
10 The architecture of the White Temple can be called an artistic classic of temple architecture. The overall style and surrounding decoration are gorgeous but still have a world-awakening religious artistic conception.
There are abundant souvenir shops in the surrounding area, making it an impressive stop for tourists.
This is a good Toxen massage place. I got it from a sturdy man who didn't know his name!
Is a small temple
Is beatifull as all of them but it's was close and it's seems really abandoned
Tickets are 100 baht. The price has increased. It used to be 50 baht. I feel there is no need to spend money on tickets, it’s good to look outside
The streets are clean and it’s very relaxing and relaxing to walk along the Meika River in the evening.
Large modern building for the accommodation of monks with flowered archway entrance. Not too much to see on the site but nice Stupa and you can go inside the Assembly Hall which has a large Buddha Statue, plus smaller ones below. Also a nice little water feature (fountain) just before the entrance to the Hall.
I used to live very close to this temple and visited it many times before moving to Jed Yod. It's very peaceful and quiet.
One of the Temples looking better it at night
We were in Chiang Mai for 5 days last November for Yi Peng (Flying Lantern Festival) and Loy Krathong (Floating Lantern Festival), and we had planned a 3 day Temple circuit in the Old City.
We had pin pointed the most famous ones like Wat Chedi Luang Varavihara and Wat Phra Singh which are truly amazing and inside the Old City, meaning you don't need a cab to go there like Wat Phra That Doi Suthep.
This Temple was not planned at all and therefore may be called a hidden gem: it is not famous nor visited by tourists. We just happened to find it on our way back to our hotel every night when we were coming back from the city center.
And night is exactly the right time to visit it.
I have attached several pictures, hoping to give kind of a feeling of this place.
Actually, and following this experience with this Temple, I would recommend double visits to the Temples, if you can afford the time and the effort of course, and if they are opened at night: the atmosphere and the sights are really different.
The silence, the darkness combined with bright lights and smooth illumination of the building makes the atmosphere almost magical.
Something very special or even surreal by all means, a totally different experience.
