Amazing Temple, Friendly People
While walking around Chiang Mai, I wandered into this temple and felt great energy from the people who were there. I stuck around for a while, prayed and enjoyed the decorations. Fairly typical of Thailand, but still worth a visit if you're into this sort of thing!

Cute little temple, next to the roard and it seems there is monastery where a lot of monks in the morning.

วัดที่สร้างคู่เมืองเชียงใหม่ ชื่อเดิมวัดสะดือเมืองจุดศูนย์กลางของเชียงใหม่ เดิมเสาอินทขิลอยู่ที่วัดแห่งนี้ ก่อนย้ายไปวัดเจดีย์หลวง มีหลวงพ่อขาวพระประธาน ที่มีความศักดิ์สิทธิ์ ศิลปะล้านนาสวยงามมาก

One of the many temples in the old walled city of Chiang Mai that you take visit during the Sunday Walking Night Market. Great place go take have a break from your shopping. Small but very impressive details.

วัดนี้เป็นวัดที่มีสถานที่ค่อนข้างน้อย แต่ก็มีคนมาสักการะหลวงพ่อขาวเป็นจำนวนมาก. ทั้งชาวไทยและชาวต่างประเทศ เป็นอีกวัดหนึ่งที่ถ้าใครมาเที่ยวเชียงใหม่ไม่ควรพลาดครับ สวยมากๆครับ

Beautiful small temple in the absolute middle of old Chiang Mai. See it at night, maybe as a break from your Sunday night shopping.

วัดเล็กๆตั่งอยู่ใกล้ใกล้ๆอนุสาวรีย์สามกษัตริย์และสถานที่สำคัญของจังหวัดเชียงใหม่ ภาพในวัดมีศิลปะที่สวยงาม แต่พื้นที่ค่อนข้างแคบอาจจอดรถได้ลำบาก

My most favorite temple in Chiang Mai.
Not so big and impressive like many others but also not many tourists there and a lot of lovely details which you can experience.

One of the smaller temples but it makes up in its intricate decor. The attention to detail is impressive. The temple is also known as the Wat Sadue Muang, which means the “temple of the city navel”, referring to the center of town where the temple was built over 700 years ago.

วัดอินทขีลสะดือเมืองเป็นวัดเก่าแก่ ตั้งอยู่บริเวณถนนอินทรวโรรส ใกล้อนุเสาวรีย์ 3 กษัตริย์

ซึ่งคำว่าอินทขีล มาจากคำว่า อินทขีละ ในภาษาบาลี แปลว่า เสาเขื่อน เสาหิน หรือแท่งเสาหลักเมือง 

แต่ก่อนวัดแห่งนี้มีชื่อว่าวัดอินทขีล ถูกสร้างขึ้นในช่วงต้นของประวัติศาสตร์ล้านนา

ราวพุทธศตวรรษที่ 19 ในสมัยพญามังราย

แต่เนื่องจากที่ตั้งของวัดแห่งนี้อยู่ตรงบริเวณสะดือเมืองเชียงใหม่ ทำให้ชาวบ้านเรียกวัดแห่งนี้ว่าวัดสะดือเมือง

ซึ่งในภายหลังจึงได้มีการเปลี่ยนชื่อเป็น วัดอินทขีลสะดือเมือง ตราบจนปัจจุบัน

This temple is very beautiful and I was really impressed with the structure. Once you are on temple tour.again there are many temples on this street.you should spare a day or 2 for the temple tour.
