The Ghee house

This is a great choice for those who come to Chiang Mai for leisure
Rooms are simple and comfortable
The only nitpick is that the water heater is not hot enough

I stayed here for 3 nights. The owner lady is so nice and kind. Also the cats are very cute. But they stay in the immediate compound and never come to hotel side. I wanted to play with them so much though. The room is also very nice, reasonable price, and great service. The owner lady recommended me places to visit, and they can rent you their bike. But I didn't and I took Grab taxi. She was like my grandmom and scolded me a little like why I would go to very near places by grab taxi and it cost money. She told me to walk or take a bike. She was just worried about me and it was so lovely. I felt like I was living in my relative house not at the hotel. So safe and warm. I would definitely choose this place again.

Really great accommodation, which is particularly due to the host family. Mother, daughters and son gave us a lot of good tips for our time during the Yi Peng Light Festival in Chiang Mai and even helped us translate over the phone when we couldn't get any further with the navigation system or English with a taxi driver. Location is great because it is very close to the center and yet quiet on a side street. Rooms functional and clean, correspond to the very good price-performance ratio. Bicycles were also included, with which we went on a nice day trip. The fact that there is no breakfast is not a problem because there are several cafés, supermarkets or, for example, Starbucks within walking distance.

Stayed to attend Khom Roi.
There were no insects, the room was clean, and the location was very good, close to Tha Phae Gate.
Airport transfers can also be booked through the hotel.

I didn't know about the service so I didn't use it, but you can ask for laundry at the hotel (50 baht/kg).

Great place to stay in Chiang Mai! The hotel is run by a mother and daughter who are both very friendly and helpful.
The hotel itself is clean and close to the city center.

Super friendly lady on the reception, very kind and we felt welcome. The rooms are perfect. There is affordable shuttle service and very affordable laundry.

We totally loved this place, SUPER CLEAN, great attention and really comfortable. It’s well located and they even lend you bikes for you to move around the city. We are definitely coming back

We loved our stay here, we came back for another night. The owners are very sweet, and the accommodations are small and simple, but clean and cozy. The beds are very very comfortable! They had a great laundry service, and great recommendations for cooking classes. Great and affordable simple stay in chaing mai!

This place is wonderful, clean rooms, nice showers, excellent service and the sweetest family that runs the place. Laundry service, towels included, a ton of cute cats wandering around. We felt very safe and welcomed. Thank you Ghee House.

We stayed six nights at the ghee house and it is a perfect quality/price ratio. The small rooms are very clean and the location is quiet but also close to attractions and places (i.e. Thapae gate, night market, nawarat bridge). The host is absolutely warm-hearted and helpful in every way.

Stayed there 2 years ago. Very friendly hosts. They offer tours and cooking classes. Facilities are very clean. Since it is somewhat tucked off on a smaller side street it fairly quiet. Location is still very walkable to many places of interest.

Great hostel! Wonderful hosts who are willing to help with any request. The rooms are clean. Very secure property and a quaint common area to sit and enjoy coffee and conversation every morning. 10 minute walk to East Gate.

Stayed here for a couple nights over new years while in Thailand for our honeymoon. The staff was great from checkin to checkout.

We had a private room on the 3rd floor. The shared bath was nice and always had one of the 2 rooms open.

We lucked out having such great outdoor space and sat on the outdoor deck to ring in the new year and watch the beautiful lanterns rise above the city.

Would certainly stay here again if returning to Chiang Mai

Pleasant stay here in Chiang Mai, in a great location, 5/10 minutes walk from everything. The staff were extremely friendly. House keeping daily, with free drinks/water. Everything was clean and tidy but we found that our shower smelt really bad every time we wanted to use it for about a minute or two so had to leave it running until it went. Other than that everything else was great, they let you borrow bicycles for free if you want and offer services of transportation if you need a transfer. Laundry available too.

Location is amazing, on the thae pae gate! Area is a bit touristy but everything is in within 2 mins walk!

Perfect location, very close to several bars and retaurants and to the old city center and to the night market, but a quiet place. Rooms are clean and fresh, comfy beds. The staff is so friendly, helpful and nice and booked everything for us. We really loved our stay and would definitely recommend it to everyone. Thank you for this great expierience. This was one of our top places in thailand.

Its our first time stay here and like it a lot. We were in one bedroom with private bathroom and terrace for a view and sun. The owner has free bicycle service. They are friendly and helpful.
