Zanotti reviews
51Every thing was good until i received the lasagna.it was terrible.tomato soup plus rocks salad was good.
A constant in the ever changing restaurant landscape of Bangkok. Great food and ambiance combined with impeccable service makes this a popular spot for Italian food. Reasonable set lunches too.
One of the best Italian restaurants in Bangkok. Very good tartare, pasta and desserts. But pizza “Zanotti” with Parma ham is a must have. Delicious!
Very good quality of Italian food, quick service for lunch breaks. Many business people, some embassies come for lunch, otherwise Thai upper middle class.
Two and a half stars for this place. One solid star for ambiance and another for service. Food was certainly lacking though. The cannelloni was supposed to be served in a pesto sauce which was more of a puréed spinach without any salt - a total failure of a dish which was sent back. The ravioli was over cooked and was soggy, and while the Caesar salad was decent, it was overdressed in dressing making it heavy.
One of the best Italian in town, for sure one of the oldest with a lots of reputation. Wonderful crispy Pizza, Great hand-made Lamb pasta, and cozy setting.true Italian.
Pizza and pasta was great! Pretty pocket friendly with great taste.
I think the menu should have an indicator for Veg dishes.
This place is stunning and the food left me and my friend speechless. They are so delicious I can't put into words.
Totally loved the food!
Zanotti is located in one of the soi (not too far in), and dressing there is casual smart.
We had a simple tomato based spaghetti - which is really the one of the best gauge of Italian food (the other is Margherita pizza), and it was simple awesome. The tomatoes and sauce made the difference.
The ravioli with mozzarella cheese was simply fantastic too, and it really made me crave for it.
We didn’t have a chance to try the gnocchi - that would have to wait till our next visit, as it was sold out.
Highly recommended if you enjoy Italian food (coz I do)!
Excellent Italian food (focus on north Italian cuisine), great wine selection, impeccable service. Lunch sets are great value
The food was fine. What you may have to be careful of, is being swindled when youre asked by the cunning waitress if you want the risotto priced in the menu as a main (baht 1200) instead as “a starter” = smaller portion,
You’re then self-encouraged to ‘fill the gap’ by ordering a main. Later on, when you request the bill, then sight & query the billing for the risotto though served as a starter is still at the main size price, they then make out the risotto is what you start with.
Sorry my English is perfect! You can’t play that game without criticism. And a fine dining restaurant like zanottin would surely rehearse interactions with diners to a T, no?
These girls were far from fresh, exactly what I detected by the derision I got from another (not original waitress) when I kindly queried the size and price. I am not fooled.
I would have thought they would have downsized the price if I had a different perception when the matter popped up. Not at Zanotti.
Don’t be too elegant with these waiting people, it’s not the first time clearly, all noticeable by the defensive: aggressive tone of the waitress who first answered my query and yet despite her refutation I stated it was the other waitresses suggestion not mine.
Besides that, the interior:
they have beige vinyl tarpaulins hanging or bulging in parts from the ceiling and where I was, the hum of AC is something I’m used to in Calcutta notnin an Italian fine dining restaurant. I guess you’re not supposed to look up.
I only came here because I couldn’t go to another reataurant closed on New Years holiday.
The music;
was a bit ‘all over the place’, but cosmopolitan Bangkok with tourists from ‘all corners’ may not notice.
You guessed right, my treatment which I accepted as I paid with the original waitresses gentle prostrations “there’s only one size” (she said “a starter” and suggested a smaller portion with her hands going from large to small) means I’m not coming back. Sad really that chef can cook.
