Mistakes, Untruths & Very Salty
I suspect the waitress lied to me as I am a foreigner.
I ordered baby half chicken and specifically asked the waitress if the grilled baby carrots would be partly black from the grill, as in which case I wouldn’t order this dish unless they could be boiled (the menu pic shows clean orange carrots) - the waitress went to ask the chef and came back and said she had told the chef already and no problem the carrots would not be black. I ordered and when it came they were pretty much entirely dirty and black, and I suspect they’d been glazed in cooking oil which made the dirt run. The waitress pretended that there was nothing wrong with them, looking up and down at them and then asked her colleague to help who might have been the supervisor. I relayed if the carrots could be boiled as originally asked for but with a lot of dithering around it seemed obvious this wasn’t possible, so I then asked for a salad without dressing instead (I regret this and should have simply cancelled the dish) - the salad came drenched with a sweet dressing and the lady quickly turned away so as to avoid me - it was a very small side salad consisting almost entirely of wilting and yellowing aged lettuce stalk and I don’t know if any of the black spots and lines were because it was unwashed or not, or part of the dressing (a similar thing happened to me at New Year when I came here - the salad then came with a dressing after I asked to separate it and the waitress at that time refused to change it as she said it was all pre-made at a central kitchen, however, the manager came along and said she could change the salad as that wasn’t all pre-made and she then separated the dressing).

The four pieces of roast potato seemed to be reheated, as one was still cold and they all had a bruised appearance.

The chicken although relatively juicy (hopefully with its own fat), was very, very, salty. This is why I’ve come back on to edit this review and downgrade it to 1* from 2*. I am at home now having drank my twelfth mug of waster since arriving back. The pastas are also very salty.

I also asked if the chicken was oven reheated or microwaved - the said the oven as they don’t use the microwave. However. The chicken was abnormally hot and I had to let it cool for a few minutes. I suspect this was also a lie.

I believe that the waitress did not confirm with the chef about the carrots as what chef on the world would then serve blackened carrots after specifically being asked not to?
I think she said whatever she wanted because I am a foreigner and she thinks I have bo rights. I spoke English on this occasion as their English was good but I can speak almost fluent Thai as I’ve lived here for more than 25 years. They did not misunderstand what I requested.

Food and service are poor in my opinion. Prices have risen by 10-15% since New Year only three months and are now over priced relative to the quality in my view. They add service charge and VAT.so the one dish (above) without drinks was 420 baht. Given the hassle and nastiness experienced today, obviously I wouldn’t go again, ever.

My experience at the Wine Connection has been very nice. The food has always been good. The only weakness is dessert, the Creme Brule is very good but the other desserts were so so. One suggestion is that the food should come out in stages, appetizers first, main entree and then desserts. Several times the food all came out at the same time except the desserts.
The staff has always been friendly.

I definitely would recommend lunch or dinner at the Wine Connection.

Thoroughly enjoyed the Spanish platter. Rich and tasty; Chorizo and Salchicon Iberico were nice and fatty. Machego cheese were creamy and non offensive.

Pasta was average. I’d recommend the platters.

Perfect western food at under half the western price and with delightful service.

(The high quality and perfectly prepared western food contrasts totally with what I remember at the beginning of my 45 years association with Bangkok when the only palatable food outside 5 star hotels was pizza and liver and bacon - R. I. P. Bobby's Arms)

Reviewing their burger & fries: service was rather quick, fries were OK although I would qualify McDonald's French fries as tastier. Burger was satisfying, with great patty meat, but the taste was missing something, maybe an interesting sauce or some more condiments.

Lunch sets are reasonably priced. Cold cut dish is nice and has lots of varieties to choose from.

Beautiful and yummy food, reasonable prices and friendly staff. We love the risottos, pepperoni pizza and fettuccine bolognese.

The food here is pretty good. The berry crumble, you may want to order somewhere else. Doesn’t have much crumble

(I came in on a Tuesday evening at 21: 15) The food I ordered was good but the service was so-so. The server who brought my glass of wine put it on my table with her back to me and walked away without ever looking at me. They turned off the lights in the section that has wine for sale at 21: 35, even though it officially closes at 10. Basically they wanted people to leave early. A little weird, service and ambiance has been much better at other WC locations I've been to.

Not the best in class (K village or Rain Hill obviously have better vibes) but a decent lunch option in Silom/Sathorn area

Disappointing “premium” wine by the glass selection as others have touted on TripAdvisor. Only four available and none rate above average in Vivino.

Terrible customer service! Avoid going here, it is not worth it.
After asking the waitress if our discount is applying specifically on the Steak menu - she agreed. Later when the bill came - surprise - it applied to all other foods except the steak menu. The excuse was that the waitress is new and she doesn’t know. That’s obviously not my problem. Will never go here again.

A decent value for the lunch special in Silom. Food is just what you want when you cannot eat one more plate of larb. Pizza, pasta and the like. Not the greatest in Bangkok but definitely pretty edible. Good wine list and bottles availble for take away purchase. Staff needs a bit of brushing up but they are good natured and smiley.

Good location and plenty of room but food is a bit expensive and portions a bit small for the price.

They close at 10 pm. Mostly everyone/ every other cafe or a restaurant closes at 10pm in Bangkok but for an Indian it is not at all a good option. So, choose wisely!

Good value lunch set. You can choose between pasta or pizza. But minus 1 star on taste which could be better.

The best salad I’ve ever had. Pizza really good and they had an awesome promo going on right now 200 baht for drink (like ice tea) pizza and a salad
