Wild Orchid Villa reviews
16Amazing Hotel in a tourist area with reasonable price. Close to many shops and in walking distance to the Chao Phraya river. Room and bathroom was clean. There was a minifridge and hot water kettle in room. There was also instant tea, coffee, sugar, creamer, etc along with mineral water bottles. There is geyser in bathroom as well. There are options for breakfast including pancakes. There is also a tour operator in the hotel which is really affordable and we went to Amphawa floating market and Ayutthaya for day tours. There are also two 7-eleven shops near the Hotel. There is also a swimming pool and staff are really friendly. The Hotel is also near the FAO Bangkok office.
We have been at the restaurant and it was bad. There where five staff and ten guest and still it took long to get help. The food was horrible, I took pasta in pesto sauce, and the pasta was floating in fat. Just go somewhere better.
I've stayed there twice. It's in a perfect location for those who truly want to experience Bangkok.
Before you go there check the updates with them as I got to know about their renovation when visited from India and no one was there from their side.
Stayed here for a few nights and was quite disappointed with the whole experience. We checked into our room and was overwhelmed at how basic it was. It smelt like paint leading us to believe it has possibly been recently refurbished however there was no place to store our luggage and clothes. There was a vanity mirror that went right up to the window so you couldn't shut the curtain properly, which meant the room was very bright in the mornings. Our bathroom was only accessible via our balcony which was strange, however the bathroom was possibly the best part of the room. Outside our room sound just echoed and so continued to wake us up throughout the night. Found the staff to be quite rude, practically screaming down their radios at 6/7am directly outside our door, this not made any better due to the paper thin walls and how much the hall echoed.
We went to the hotel restaurant for dinner the evening we arrived. I ordered the pineapple fried rice which to my amazement was actually really nice and full of flavour. My girlfriend and some of the others in our group ordered food that basically came out drowning in liquid. Which didn not look appealing nor appetising. My overall experience of this place was quite bad mainly due to the lack of sleep from constantly being woken. We then went back to the restaurant for breakfast and what we received was so basic, few scrambled eggs and toast, we may have well gone to the local 7 eleven and bought a better and cheaper meal there.
Convenient location in Bangkok, can easily walk to most places from here! Clean rooms, pleasant staff and good food in the restaurant!
Very cheap and the swimming pool is awesome. The location is next to Khao San Road.
Only negative thing: My room had no widows, but the AC worked very well.
A three night stay was enjoyable and comfortable. The only bummer was that the pool was out of commission, but the room was perfect and the location was great if you want to see the touristy things like the Grand Palace, Wat Pho, Wat Arun. Plenty of street carts selling wares and smaller restaurants where you can sit outside at the end of a long day. Would recommend!
- Tiny rooms. No iron in the hotel. Super humid and stinky in the apartments. Cleaning is not perfect.
+ Good swimming pool.
Rooms could have been better. There was limited sockets for electric supply. Restroom had no electric socket anywhere near. Hot water appliance was malfunctioning, hard to get a good shower.
Rooms are very very clean, staffs are helpful, and hot water facilities are there along with TV and locker. No toothbrush or shaving kits are provided. You are not allowed to bring in guests to the room (fine 500 baht). The area is really good. The food street is nearby and you can gorge on Thai local cuisine in the food street. The food price in the hotel is a little high even for simple items like dipped black tea and water bottle. Since the food streets are nearby, it is not an issue.
Its not what it was. Been here maney times before and its gowing down hill fast. Rooms are old and dirty. Staff is kind and helpfull food is ok.
You get what you pay for. This place had a good bed, clean sheets and pillows, and good, cold AC. Great location, within walking distance (~20 minutes) of many Bangkok spots to see, as well as fabtatsic food, nigjt life, and street shopping.
The pool they have is nice, too.
It's no 4 or 5 star hotel, but it was great for passing out after a long day of sight seeing.
Gestapo hitting to the door in the middle of our stay in this hostel. They scream you cheak out today!? And the pool. It is a joke. More like a pond. Don't get fooled by cheap prices, rooms don't have Windows.
Super cost-effective in the backpacker's cradle
We stayed in a double room with no windows and shared bathroom and it was a great experience! Bathrooms always clean, room small but clean and air conditioned.
Agile staff, great wifi, very welcome pool due to the heat of the city. Restaurant area and lobby very nice to sit and read, chat or eat something.
A few steps from Khao San Road and perpendicular to Rambutri, a cute little street full of restaurants, massages, shops with affordable prices.
