Not sure why they charge an entry fee for a temple. The place is architecturally majestic (very awesome indeed), no doubt, but it seems more like a photo spot rather than a temple. I agree that people take photos in other temples (Wat) as well, but this one was a bit over crowded and too much of photo sessions going on. Mostly, you will see people get local thai dress from nearby shops and this explains the photo sessions.

Finding a grad here is going to be difficult. And the road outside is very mismanaged and traffic jams are common here.

Try to club visiting Wat Arun with the nearby river cruise, or Grand palace. If you come just for Wat Arun from far away, you may feel a bit disappointed.

Wat Arun is a quite beautiful temple, it is located in the city of BANGKOK, there are lots of visitors here, the photos are quite good, if you want to shop for t-shirts there are also lots of them for sale, just choose which one you like, for friends who are on holiday, don't forget to come here.

The visit to Wat Arun was really very nice, even if you really shouldn't underestimate the weather, as it can get very hot in the area of ​​the actual attraction and you can hardly find shady places or paths if you want to see everything.
However, there is also a lot more to Wat Arun that you can see for the entrance fee of just 100 baht: there are several small prayer rooms where you can find a variety of statues and simply enjoy the peace and quiet.

Ticket is 100 Baht, and you should wear pants with appropriate clothes when visiting the place. They also offer costume renting for the price of 250~350 Baht next to the place, the guard will show you how to come rent the clothes on the left side of the pagoda. One bottle of water is free with each ticket.

I think this is the most aesthetic temple haha. From every angle the place is interesting! Cause I used a tourguide at that time to get here we used a boat through one of the rivers as well as going home. Souvenirs are also available here.

วัดอรุณราชวราราม
เป็นพระอารามหลวงชั้นเอก ชนิดราชวรมหาวิหาร ตั้งอยู่ทางทิศตะวันตกของแม่น้ำเจ้าพระยา และฟากตะวันออกของถนนอรุณอมรินทร์ ระหว่างคลองนครบาลหรือคลองวัดแจ้ง กับพระราชวังเดิม ตำบลวัดอรุรณ อำเภอบางกอกใหญ่ จังหวัดธนบุรี เป็นวัดโบราณสร้างมาแต่ครั้งสมัยกรุงศรีอยุธยา ตอนปลาย เดิมเรียกว่า “วัดมะกอก” ภายหลังเปลี่ยนเป็น วัดมะกอกนอก แล้วเปลี่ยนเป็น วัดแจ้ง วัดอรุณราชธาราม และวัดอรุณราชวราราม โดยลำดับ ปัจจุบันเรียกชื่อว่า “วัดอรุณราชวราราม”
จากหลักฐานทำให้เห็นได้ชัดว่า วัดแจ้งนั้นมีมาก่อนที่สมเด็จพระเจ้ากรุงธนบุรี จะทรงย้ายราชธานีมายังกรุงธนบุรี ตามเรื่องที่ได้กล่าวกันมาแล้ว
การปฏิสังขรณ์วัดที่ พระบาทสมเด็จพระพุทธเลิศหล้านภาลัย  รัชกาลที่ ๒  ได้ทรงกระทำมาตั้งแต่ครั้งยังทรงดำรงพระอิสริยยศ เป็น สมเด็จพระเจ้าลูกยาเธอ   เจ้าฟ้ากรมหลวงอิศรสุนทร และยังประทับอยู่ที่พระราชวังเดิม  นั้น  ได้สำเร็จลงในต้นปีมะโรง พ. ศ. ๒๓๖๓    พระองค์จึงโปรดเกล้าฯ   ให้มีการฉลองแล้วพระราชทานชื่อใหม่ว่า “วัดอรุณราชธาราม”
ถึงรัชกาลที่ ๔ พระบาทสมเด็จพระจอมเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัว โปรดเกล้าฯ ให้บูรณปฏิสังขรณ์เพิ่มเติมอีก    แล้วทรงเปลี่ยนชื่อวัดเป็น  “วัดอรุณราชวราราม”  ดังที่เรียกในปัจจุบันนี้

I luv its serene and well maintained surrounding. Shrine with intricated designs, great antique and artifacts found worth to be explored.

Beautiful temple right on the chaophaya river. Must go if you’re looking for some peaceful vibes without being in an overcrowded place

Take a ferry across the river for 5 baht and come visit one of the best skyline-building structure in Bangkok. While this Khmer-style temple is worth visiting on its own, take it as a slight plus that once you climb stairs to the viewpoint terrace on the main phrang, you can enjoy beautiful views of the river, the other two main temples and the historic center of Bangkok. And if you are there around the sunset, don't forget to watch it across the river and this temple. It will be one of the sights you will never forget.:)

One of the most iconic landmarks in Bangkok, the majestic Khmer-style tower of the Temple of Dawn dominates the skyline on the Nonthaburi bank of the Chao Phraya River. Construction began in the reign of King Rama ll (1809-1824) and ended under King Rama lll (2824-1851). The central tower is 76 meters high and decorated by thousands of tiny seashells and pieces of Chinese porcelain depicting protective demons and monkeys. ARUN means "morning" and the temple is best viewed at dawn on sunset from the opposite river bank. You can get there by boat from Sathorn pier near BTS Saphan Taksin.
