Virgin Active Fitness Club EmQuartier

Just personal opinion, but a little too soft and pretty for my taste. But still a very good gym.

Ice room rarely has ice and is often not even cold. Steam room is broken all the time. Toilets often missing toilet paper. Can’t count the number of times I’ve been in the day on a weekend and find that I can’t take a shower because that’s the best time to close it all down for cleaning apparently. The location is great and convenient. The machines are top quality, but when they break, it seems parts come on a ship from the other side of the world - expect weeks before it’s fixed. Water in drinking fountains tastes like dirt. I imagine because filters are of inferior quality. Overall Richard Branson would be pretty disappointed I’m sure and for $100 a month I also expect more. There is definitely an opportunity for a gym to open in BKK they can provide a true quality experience.

Full amenities, great range of equipment, good classes, friendly staff. Quite pricey though and a lot of broken equipment that takes quite a while to fix.

This club is fiyah. The classes are top notch and it never feels crowded. They even give you clothes so you just need to bring shoes #boujie

Great location, reasonably decent line-up of classes. The towels are abundant, the staff is friendly in the reception area, and the locker rooms/showers are spacious. Misses are on 1) general cleanliness and 2) maintenance. For the premium, there shouldn't be sweaty cycling machines or bugs in the shower. On the maintenance, machines are often out-of-order for extended periods; despite reporting it as broken, there is the "mai pen rai" attitude.

Recently I have reported a bike broken to 4 different people over three weeks, and it's still not fixed. Even one genius instructor tried arguing with me saying not to place so much weight on it.instead of calling maintenance to have it fixed.

Last year when I left for Christmas break, two of the hair-dryers were broken and still broken when I returned two months later (despite reporting it). If they improved the maintenance would be 4-star, and had earlier opening hours on the weekend would be hands-down 5-star.

For sure one of the top gym locations in Bangkok. Virgin has other branches as well, though I believe the EmQuartier location is one of the best.

Fatboys recommended, especially if you are living in Bangkok.

Weights, plenty of machines, pool, salt room, sauna, ice room, towels, and workout clothes. Just bring your shoes! It's perfect!

Great place to work out. Plenty of equipment on three floors. The crowd is pretty nice, meaning you can concentrate on your own workout without being judged.

I do not recommend this club. It is very expensive. Told them to cancel the membership and got charged for payments for 3 months. After discussing with them, they refused to pay me back even though i did not use the facility for the whole 3 months I have paid for. Bad management cant believe it. What a scam.

Not always the machines I prefer. Worst thing they refuse to provide usable WiFi. You have to type in username and password each time, system does not allow your phone to save it, different for each location, and it often disconnects.

They remove bad reviews from facebook, they are real scammers! They cheat on payments! Seen more than once. You just paid and in a week a new payment appears, although you paid for 2 weeks! Current customers pay attention to this!
look at my payments, I have to pay twice a week, this is not the first time, they change it themselves when they want! Be careful!

I do not recommend this club, it is very expensive and very important simulators are not in the club (the staff is rude with customers. There are clubs that are much more interesting and cheaper, and the price is adequate) where the staff is always friendly and you feel like in a family) but not in virgin! Really not recommend virgin

Probably the best club to join if you're living close to the EmQuartier or any of the other locations. During my membership I have never had to wait for machines and classes have generally been available on short notice although its always good to book well in advance just in case. The club supports MyWellness QR codes but that works with Apple Health but unfortunately doesn't support Apple Watch workouts yet.

Membership fees are a bit confusing, and the reason for the missing 5th star is because when signing up for a "Limited" membership (6: 00am to 3pm, Mon-Fri) they forgot to mention that it applies to Public holidays as well, making the "Limited" membership kind of useless as there are just so many public holidays in the Kingdom of Thailand. Unless you're on a really tight budget, go for the "All access" membership that also gives access to any of the other clubs in Thailand and abroad as well I believe.

Service vice, especially if you're new to the gym, I would recommend the Empire Tower location as they really go the extra mile and have much more staff to help you out during your workouts.

Aqua Fitness classes there are just amazingly fun and teachers are top notch, five stars to them.

Bad gym - Low maintenance, bad vibe.
The showers are bot clean, broken machines, too crowded, mats in the classes are dirty, the gym smells bad. You could complain but they never listen. Fitness First way better!

Nice place in nice and convenient location.

All TECHNOGYM machines, swimming pool, steam bath, yoga, etc etc.if you are fishing for a girl, or if you want to be hooked, this could be a nice place to find someone that does not work in bar by night.

Just signed up for membership. Really luxury gym. Probably, the best in bkk! Not the cheapest though ;) But this will force me to make use of it!

I love this place, great vibe! I had a Zumba class today with 2 male instructors and they are amazing! And the audience too! Everyone enjoyed no mater which country you come from or which language you speak or how old you are. I also like the fly yoga (antigravity) and rock climbing here. It's absolutely the most fancy and friendly gym in BKK! ^^
Plus, among all the Virgin Actives in BKK, this one is the only one with stretch zone, my favorite ;)
