1. Summary: As a repeat customer, I recommend this shop. The value is good, and once they dial in your measurements, you can feel good about buying remotely. This place has a good reputation for a reason.

2. Service: The staff are friendly, helpful and professional. They speak English very well. They repaired some torn trousers for me (they only repair stuff they made). They remade garments to make the fit meet my needs when the initial product was too tight, shipping the redone clothes to me. It helps to know what you want and write it down or bring pictures. They were able to replicate garments well from images. They also conduct trunk shows overseas.

3. Cloth: They offer natural fibre fabrics such as wool, linen, and cotton in various patterns and colors from European “name brands” like VBC, in addition to Chinese mills. They have some heavier weights, but they really excel in lighter weight fabrics in conservative colors. You can also buy your own cloth and bring it to them if you want something specific. They use Bemberg for the linings and have nice buttons, buckles, and hardware. In other words, they can make you a nice garment, you don’t have to police them on materials or source all your own fabrics and buttons unless you want to.

4. Cut, construction, fit, and fittings: They have fittings. Their tendency is to cut close to the body, which looks great when standing up, but your clothes need to be comfortable when sitting down to eat dinner, when squatting to reach something, or when waving to a cab (or they won’t be worn, no matter how exquisite they are). Make sure they know you want room for these activities! After a few visits, I am really happy with the fit of the trousers and jackets, but tweaks can be made for future garments. Construction is half-canvassed by default, but they can do a full canvas for an additional fee.

5. Finish and details: I am happy with the design details, such as the trouser flies, sewing, and interlinings. Pockets are made well and well-placed. They accommodated unusual details such as fishmouth lapels, jean-style pockets, pleated pockets, guayabera shirt pleats, lack of breast pocket, button fly, etc.

6. Price and value: The value is good. The price is about the same as a decent online MTM suit in the US or Europe, but you have much more control over the fit and details. I have paid more for RTW clothes that fit me worse, even after alterations! Going for another cheaper tailor in Thailand is likely to lose you quality. A more expensive tailor in Europe might get you some hand finished buttonholes, and more handwork in general (in addition to paying for their increased operating expenses and stronger currency). What matters to me is the fit, cloth, design, and price and UT has been able to meet my expectations better than other shops I have tried. So far, I have bought suits, a jacket, trousers, shorts, shirts, a guayabera, a safari jacket, and pyjamas.

Raj and his team are doing a fabulous work. Highly experienced and knowledge team. I have used many bespoke taylor services in bkk but universal tailors are high up there. Best part is they don't force sell.

Before arriving in Bangkok I researched many tailor shops to find the best overall service, honesty, and quality of suits, and that is exactly what I found here. Don't be fooled by tailor shops the tuk tuk or locals recommend, sure if you're looking for a lower quality suit than go to those, but if you are looking for true quality and knowledgeable associates look no further. The owner and associates were kind, attentive to detail, and were able to recommend options when I couldn't decide (and I'm so glad that they did). My suits turned out better than I could have imagined. I purchased 2 suits made with Vitale Barberis Canonico. A classic formal Navy and a more sporty lighter blue option. Universal Tailors did not disappoint. I had an initial appt where I chose the material and they took my measurements, the next day my first fitting, and the following day before my flight out of Bangkok they fit in a second fitting. I wouldn't be back in Bangkok for a couple of weeks after, and this was when I picked up the final product. They have my measurements and I will continue to purchase my suits from them in the future. Very good and courteous service. We received a very friendly welcome as soon as we entered and were offered refreshments. The choice of fabric was very well catered for and suitable alterations and new designs were suggested.

The body measurements were taken quickly and the further adjustments were also made in a very short time without seeming rushed.

In less than 2 days, a beautiful suit + shirt was conjured up that leaves nothing to be desired.

Just wow! From the moment I contacted Universal Tailors, their attention to detail and customer service was apparent. I was in Bangkok for roughly 48 hours and Raj and Ronnie were able to take my measurements and try on one of the custom tailored suits and shirts to make sure the fittings were exact. Bought 2 suits and 8 shirts here after thorough research on the bespoke tailoring scene in Bangkok. For the outfit for my friends wedding - I showed Raj a design for a garden casual outfit and together we came up with the final fit that I got many, many compliments on. The idea of the linen/wool blazer over the linen shirt was his idea and it was perfect for the summer. I also get compliments daily on the custom shirts. The price was fair as well. I had a pleasant experience getting my suit made. They were really helpful with everything in the process. The only thing that I didn’t like was that they put a buttonhole on the lapel which I didn’t know they would. But all in all it was a fantastic experience and I would recommend them.

I use a custom shirt and suit service back in the US but this was such a better experience. Loved the fabric selection and was blown away with their turn around time. The shirts and jacket look great and I can't wait to order more.

We order multiple bespoke suits and shirts and the turn around was amazing quick even with a public holiday looming.the quality was as good as bespoke service with 2 week turnaround.any issues were addressed quickly.the staff were the best, they were not pushy and very helpful with styling and sizing. They also stock a wide range of fabric at a reasonable prices. Would definitely recommend.

Ronnie and Raj were accommodating to our busy schedule and was able to provide a fit for us off their opening hours. They took the time to ensure a good fit and also ensured that we received our finished clothing before we left the city. I like some of their suggestions in terms of the inner cloth materials for the jacket. I have used them twice so far and I would highly recommend them!

I purchased 2 very nice suits and a couple of shirts. Priced at around 900€ all in which i found ok, but not cheap at all.
