The Verandah reviews
26Good place to have casual lunch with good service=] i tried green curry, som tam and icecream and everything was good. I would dine here if i stay here again!
Came here for dinner in the evening. The atmosphere was great. It is recommended to sit outside. Although it is a bit hot and there may be mosquitoes, the beautiful view is worth it.
Love here!
Nice atmosphere and super attentive staffs
All the staffs here at Mandarin Oriental Bangkok was amazing!
Will definitely come back again!
After our visit to Iconsiam department store, we weren't particularly hungry, so we decided to order just spaghetti and salad. However, to our surprise, the hotel's appetizers were quite abundant and ended up filling us up. Nonetheless, if you prefer a riverside seat, it is advisable to make a booking in advance.
Requested to have the bill like 3 times and this guy just asked me to repeat what i had ordered so he can bill me correctly and this wasn't my job. Seemed to please foreigners than thais. Bad service just ruins whole vibes for me.
The best brunch we have had in Thailand! Highly recommend this location, as it’s right on the river, excellent service and wonderful views. The food is incredible and authentic. Very safe and good vibes.
Excellent for buffet breakfast; I go almost every day since I live directly across the river. Very surprising to me, mediocre service at 3pm (to the degree there was any service). Food was great though.
ประทับใจทุกครั้งที่ไป อาหารอร่อย
บริการดีมาก บรรยากาศดี
แต่นั่งเอาท์ดอร์ เลยอาจจะมีกลิ่นบุหรี่
My favourite riverside restaurant/cafe/bar in Bangkok. Even having a simple coffee or a few drinks is a pleasure here. Classic, chic, luxurious- everything that defines Mandarin Oriental. Highly recommend coming here for a light meal at night or pre-dinner drinks at sunset.
The Verandah is at the Oriental, so one would expect good food. The reality is different. It’s all, from starters, main courses to coffee, superb, comfortable and relaxing. For lunch, few can be better.
Outdoor seating with the best view
Food was delicious we ordered:
Garlic shrimp with rice (9/10)
Seafood past (8/10)
Salmon (9/10)
Great scenery beside ChaoPraYa River. Breakfast is great. There is even whole fresh? Coconut.
Recommend to try Trffule sauce Eggs Benedict,? Mango sticky rice.
Very expensive! Great view, great food, great service! Absolutely worth the money! It is inside the Oriental Mandarin Hotel
Consistently good! Comfort food, stunning view (day or night), exceptional service and good value for money. Go…you won’t be disappointed!
Nice restaurant at the river (part of Mandarin Oriental Hotel). Great views, excellent service and delicious food. The menu is a combination of eastern and western cuisine which provides its guests plenty of options. Cocktails are also tasty. I recommend to visit at sunset or in the evening to get a better view.
Dinner was lovely, pricey but lovely, we spent 2000bht pp and don’t drink. Lovely staff, fabulous location and views of river and ICONSIAM, superb food. We had 2 sharer plates for starters which with 3 main courses was a bit much, the pavlova was gorgeous though and just HAD to end a beautiful evening
อาหารไทยอร่อยมากค่ะ พนักงานบริการดีใส่ใจรายละเอียดเล็กน้อยตลอดเวลา บรรยากาศ วิวสวย แนะนำเลือกนั่งด้านนอกค่ะ
Always a pleasure to dine here. A menu to suit everyone, fine drinks list. Service is what elevates it to 5 stars. Food has never letdown, reasonable price for place of this nature.
The place to be on a nice afternoon on the river to enjoy the snow fish and a bottle of rose wine. Highly recommended for any food lover.
The Mandarin Oriental was always well known for excellent quality. This Christmas eve we visited The Verandah restaurant and were quite disappointed. We phoned for a reservation and were told no reservation was needed, first come first serve. When we arrived we were told there is a buffet going on outside, which for us on a special day is a no go. So we moved inside for a service à la carte. Ahead of it we went to a bar, for a red Martini on the rocks. After long explications explaining the difference between Martini vermut and Martini cocktail we were served a white Martini, no ice. Moving to the restaurant the waitress explained my wife (!) the minimum consumption would be 1500 Bth per person. 3 tables were only occupied.
The food itself was mediocre, but at last the best of all evening. What happened to the famous standard of the Oriental?
