The Temple of the Emerald Buddha

The Emerald Buddhist temple is located inside the Grand Palace of Thailand. Tourists may enter the temple, but the must remove their shoes before entering the temple. The followers will give you polythene bags for keeping your shoes. The followers of Buddha are praying inside temple, where a golden statue of Buddha located.

Free drinking water stations! This is the only temple we paid to visit while in Bangkok. While it was nice, it was very crowded during midday. There are free drinking water stations to refill your bottles, which is a huge bonus!

Beautiful architecture. Lots of tourists here, there is a dress code for entry, but you can rent clothes near the entrance if yours does not comply.

This is a definite must if you are in Bangkok. Most probably my favourite palace in the world. It is vast and so so much to see. The craftsmanship, the detail and several buildings and statues. Go as early as possible as it gets very busy. Price for tkt is 500 Baht, (approx 15 USD or £12.)

This is a beautiful temple and worth visiting once. It is overcrowded always and please ensure that you carry a bottle of water, do not wear sleeveless tops and shorts (ensure that your top covers your shoulders and shorts are longer to cover your knees).

If u are visiting Thailand, u should visit this temple in Bangkok otherwise u are loosing out semething in life.

Very crowded, tons of people taking pictures, some actually worshiping so be respectful. A must see place

ที่วัดนี้ชาวโลก และพี่น้องคนไทยทุกๆคนรู้ดีเน๊าะ ส่วนใหญ่ก็มาไหว้พระขอพรกัน แต่ถ้าจะให้สะดวกหลีกเลี่ยงช่วงเทศกาลรึว่าวันหยุดใหญ่ๆ จะเข้าไหว้ได้ไว ถ้าขับรถมาเองจะหาที่จอดรถใกล้ๆวัดได้ง่ายกว่านะครับเพราะคนที่มาไหว้พระ มาชมสถานที่จะน้อย ก็ไม่ต้องรอคิวนานเน๊าะ

วันนี้คนมาไหว้พระในวันปีใหม่
ทางวัดไม่คิดค่าเข้าชม
จึงมีชาวต่างชาติมามาก
โดยเฉพาะเพื่อนบ้านใกล้เคียง

One of the most unique statues I have seen. This is a one of a kind Buddha. I recommend that you see this with a tour.

INTERESTING HISTORY, BUT ANOTHER TEMPLE WITH THE SAME THINGS INSIDE, SAME STYLE, NOT VARIED AS THE EUROPEAN CULTURE. HERE, PEOPLE ARE NOT CLEAN WITH NAKED FEET ON DIRTY GROUND, NOISY, FULL OF USELESS SUPERSTITIONS. THEY EVEN TAKE PICTURES WITH MONEY FOR THE BELIEVES. (J B 1841)

One of the spot you must visit in BKK. Take time and take a look at detailed decoration of the building. Thai people will be able to get closer to the Buddha image in the main hall.
