The Suan Pakkad Palace

A small museum within a traditional Thai building complex.
Similar to the Jim Thompson House, you can tour traditional Thai houses at Suan Pakkad Palace. In contrast to the Jim Thompson House, you don't need a guide here; you can explore the complex independently. Various traditional objects are shown inside the houses; it is a museum. The information could be a little more detailed.
Entry is very cheap, you only pay a few euros. Anyone interested in Thai architecture and the way of life in times gone by is definitely in the right place here. Since the Suan Pakkad Palace is a little outside the typical tourist path, it is usually pleasantly empty here.
I can recommend a visit.

It's a shame I couldn't take pictures of the interior, but it was nice to be able to see the history because it was quiet and there were no people.

A Prince's and his consort's residence: in case you are looking for some quiet moments in this hectic part of town, this is the place.

The buildings house a museum with many valuable artefacts of ancient Siam, a number of rooms showing the presents made to them personally, their living-room, bedroom etc.

Today a lady will show you this place and tell you in English about its inhabitants and its history. Before you were allowed to discover it on your own.

Enjoy its quietness and atmosphere.

You cannot take any photos inside. Before you could.

Outside your selfies will reflect the mystical atmosphere of the Cabbage Museum - built in a former cabbage field.

The entrance fee is 100 Baht. You need not book your visit. We went there on a weekday and we were the only visitors.

A chance to see some beautiful traditional teak housing with antique artefacts as old as 5000 years old. It was a very calming place and we felt it was definitely worth the entrance fee of 100 baht each.

Perfect cultural and historial experience. The guided tour takes about 1 hour. Highly recommended.

Nice respite on a sunny day. 100 THB gets you some peaceful garden time in the middle of a concrete jungle.

Nice little museum laid out in traditional teak buildings in a verdant, peaceful garden. Worth a look for the entry fee (despite the stupid dual-pricing system for foreign tourists that has deterred me from a number of other 'attractions').

The entrance cost 100 Baht which included person showing during your visit becuase you are not suppose to take inside display pictures. First building display Ban Chaing pottery which is prehistoric and part of UNESCO world heritage site.
After the tour, you are allow to roam outside area to enjoy nature in the middle of Bangkok.

Visited the museum which used to be a residence of Prince Paribatra Sukhumbandhu. There are a variety of artifacts from prehistoric to more modern times. Paid 100 baht per person, and the proceeds go to the foundation. We were escorted by a volunteer who is knowledgeable about the displayed items.

Beautiful collection of traditional Thai houses with interesting artefacts. A little tranquil oasis in the heart of Bangkok.

A good place, inside there are many exhibits located in about ten halls. I liked it the most The Lacquer Pavilion - small building with awesome gold and black mural paintings. The entrance ticket costs 100 baht. The museum is not very popular, so there are usually not many people here. It is not allowed to take pictures inside the museum, but you can take pictures of the museum territory. The territory of the museum is not very big, but in my opinion it is a good place to rest from the noise of the city and the heat.

A fascinating piece of architectural, archeology, and history in a beautiful green space surrounded by the city.

The guide was so helpful to give deep understanding of the displays as well as orderliness. Must see in Bangkok.

️ข้อมูลในเชิงลึก พิพิธภัณฑ์วังสวนผักกาด วังสวนผักกาดแห่งนี้เคยเป็นที่ประทับใน พลตรี พระเจ้าวรวงศ์เธอ พระองค์เจ้าจุมกฏพงษ์บริพัตร กรมหมื่นนครสวรรค์ศักดิ์พินิต หรือเสด็จในกรมฯ พระนัดดาใน รัชกาลที่ 5 และชายา ม. ร. ว. พันธุ์ทิพย์ บริพัตร หรือ คุณท่าน แต่เดิมพื้นที่แห่งนี้เคยเป็นสวนผักกาดของคนจีนภายหลังจากท่านตัดสินพระทัยจะย้ายเข้ามาพักอาศัยจึงสร้างพระตำหนักและย้ายมาอยู่เป็นการถาวร ในช่วงสงครามโลกครั้งที่ 2 โดยวังแห่งนี้ชื่อว่า วังสวนผักกาด เนื่องจากเคยเป็นสวนผักกาดเก่ามาก่อน ท่านได้ใช้เรือนไทยที่ได้เป็นมรดกตกทอดมาจากบรรพบุรุษมีอายุมากกว่า 100 ปี ปัจจุบันคือเรือนไทยหลังที่ 1-4 ใช้เป็นสถานที่รับรองแขกและจัดแสดงของสะสมที่มีความสวยงามบางชิ้นได้รับเป็นมรดกตกทอดจากบิดา คือ จอมพลเรือ จอมพล สมเด็จพระเจ้าวรวงศ์เธอ เจ้าฟ้าบริพัตรสุขุมพันธุ์กรมหลวงนครสวรรค์วรพินิต พระราชโอรสใน ร. 5
ต่อมา ท่านได้เปิดโอกาสให้คนอื่นเข้าเยี่ยมชมบ้านของท่านได้ อาจกล่าวได้ว่าเป็นบ้านแห่งแรกที่เปิดให้คนภายนอกเข้าชมบ้านขณะที่เจ้าของบ้านยังใช้เป็นที่อยู่อาศัย โดยคุณท่านเชื่อว่าวัตถุโบราณที่ท่านสะสมไม่ได้เป็นทรัพย์สินของท่านแต่ท่านถือว่าโบราณวัตถุเหล่านี้เป็นมรดกตกทอดของมวลมนุษย์ชาติ ท่านจึงไม่ควรเก็บไว้ชมเพียงผู้เดียว และเปิดโอกาสให้ผู้อื่นสามารถเข้ามาชมโบราณวัตถุในบ้านท่านได้
นี่คือความเป็นมาของวังสวนผักกาด ซึ่งจนทุกวันนี้วังสวนผักกาดยังคงมีลักษณะการจัดแสดงและตกแต่งเหมือนบ้านมากกว่าพิพิธภัณฑ์ ในปัจจุบันวังสวนผักกาดอยู่ในความดูแลของมูลนิธิจุมกฏ-พันธุ์ทิพย์ อันเป็นองกรค์การกุศลก่อตั้งเมือ พ. ศ. 2511 เพื่อส่งเสริมในด้านการศึกษาและอนุรักษ์ด้านวัฒนธรรมไทย
