The Overstay

3.8!? !? Ok well I have not actually stayed here but man I love this place. Some of the best events I have been to in BKK. I wouldnt miss a visit to Overstay when I'm in BKk.my only complaint is there isn't a sweet show everytime I'm in town

Most interesting and beautiful place with interesting people, funny dogs, cats who catching the mouses, big cockroaches and without a hot water

Bed bugs and blood covering my sheets, i stayed for 2 hours and they refused a refund when i told them i was leaving.

For hippies only. This place is loud throughout the night and in bad condition. The staff however is helpful and did a refund even though they usually don't refund card payments.

It's very cheap to stay here and have a good vibe in every night (mostly at Friday and Saturday). But the toilet on 2nd floor is too dark, and filthy enough in several spots.

I love your the murals, art, music, and concept. Too rare to get any hotel like this place.

This is an alternative squat style place, so don't expect any luxury whatsoever.however it's all about the people here.no boring nine to five matrix people.

The Overstay is an undying institution of Bangkok. It's location is just far enough off the beaten track that it should fend off any khao san trashies. Live music often and you can get involved if you're so inclined. And all the floors are covered in street art.

Pretty cheap hostel, but that is totally noticeable. Beds are uncomfortable, the bathrooms are very gross (we actually saw the cleaner wash the bathroom floor using water straight from the toilet) and cockroaches are walking through the whole hostel.

We wanted to leave 3 days earlier than booked, because plans have changed and the hostel was just too disgusting for us to stay in (cockroaches in our beds). For this reason we asked for a refund for the remaining days in the hostel. The manager was completely unreasonable when talking to her on the phone and hung up on us during the conversation. Eventually we got NO refund. The manager was in complete denial of the state of her hostel. Claiming first that there were no cockroaches and then that there are no cleaner hostels in the area and it would be unreasonable for us to expect better.

Absolutely amazing place. Great place to meet friends. The staff really makes you feel like part of a family. Would recommend to everyone.

Fun and quirky hostel. Was able to check in last minute at a really awkward hour in the morning, and the staff were really helpful and accommodating with no hassle. For the price we payed for a bed in a mixed dorm you can’t go wrong here.

The best place for learning everything and everyone really friendly, The hostel not comfortable but it's ok just close your eyes and open your mind you will found the new world (they has 2 dogs and 1 cat it's so cute) Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it.

The place it's a cultural place you can discover art, music and other cool stuff. It's a magnetic place.

Had two great nights at overstay, met great and friendly peoples, this is not a 5 stars hôtel and they dont claim to be that at all, but if you want to be treated like family, listen to good music in a place full of art and memories then you must definitely come to this place, special thanks to the owner and his wife, as well as the lovely vietnamese girl behind the bar, i would have been happy to stay more with u guys.

Lovely place if budget and you like the underground atmosphere. Also if you like dogs & cats.

I know The Overstay 9 years already. A lot of my friends stayed there.
It's not only a hostel, it's a music club and bar also.
Sometimes not so clean and hot but you'll meet most interesting people in your trip. I strongly recommend Overstay.

The overstay has a team of cleaners now; the place is better than my last visit. It's very sociable, fun, safe, and in the heart of real bangkok - away from khao san road. If you want to make new friends and do artistic stuff then the overstay is the place to go.usually a music performance every saturday that attracts locals and tourists.

Best n cheapest stay in bkk. Open minded place, the bar is open 24h, you can be creative. There is paint n walls n a guitare, a bass as well a full drumset. I'v enjoyed my time there.

Sweet place to kick back and have a conversation with artistic people and fellow backpackers. They arrange events & parties with gigs, DJs and funny themes. You can drown your sorrows at the bar and enjoy the great company.

The staff is hilarious, the beds are cheaps and if you're a cat person, you'll love it. However if you're picky about standards then I suggest to go to a more expensive place. I wouldn't.

The rooms aren't clean enough for someone with high standards. But the arty atmosphere is nice and makes you forget what luxury should be. It's cheap and you meet people
